Amy AdamsIf you're traveling through or near the Bronx Zoo in New York today, keep an eye out for the poisonous Egyptian cobra that has gone missing. News of such a reptilian menace on the loose would send most even-tempered individuals into a frenzy, but not Steve Martin — no, the "Father of the Bride" funny man is ready to make his move if necessary.

"An Egyptian cobra has escaped and is hiding in the Bronx zoo," Martin wrote today on Twitter. "I’m sitting in my King Tut hat by the phone awaiting their call for help."

Martin's willingness to combat poisonous snakes isn't the only interesting thing going on in the Twitter-verse today. After the jump, find out who didn't audition for Lois Lane in "Superman," which movie stars are celebrating birthdays and much more!

Nathan FillionIn case you missed the news, "Firefly" will be returning to TV near you in a few months. But if star Nathan Fillion has anything to say about it, it wouldn't just be repeats.

"If I got $300 million from the California Lottery, the first thing I would do is buy the rights to 'Firefly,' make it on my own, and distribute it on the Internet," he told Entertainment Weekly in an interview.

Fillion's words are heartening, and we certainly hope he succeeds in his quest to bring "Firefly" back some day. In fact, there are a lot of actors who we'd love to see bring their concluded series back on the air... like the ones you'll read about after the jump!

Leslie NielsenLeslie Nielsen's death prompted a full day's worth of reactions in Twitter-Wood today, both from fans respectful enough not to call him "Shirley" and those who thought he would prefer to be remembered by that name. Dane Cook dedicated a show to him, while Brian Posehn shared his favorite Nielsen anecdote, and Olivia Wilde just plain misses him.

The "Star Wars" community experienced a loss as well, though, with the passing of "Empire Strikes Back" director Irvin Kershner. John Hodgman, Brian Lynch and Kyle Newman all contributed perspectives on their accounts, and Nathan Fillion shared some Christmas tree ornaments that Kershner might have appreciated.

Justin BieberAmerican Music Awards tweets consumed most of the Twitter-Wood feed Sunday night, with Justin Bieber pulling in the most celebrity endorsements by far. Personally, however, I'd like to endorse Nathan Fillion's perspective on the evening, as he remained focused on what really matters.

Airports, however, weren't nearly as luxurious as the AMAs this weekend, and if you were flying you were probably worried about whether the TSA was going to scan you or give you a pat-down. Samm Levine proposed a trick to beating the system, while Judd Apatow pondered parenting decisions. Find out if you agree with either of them after the jump, right beneath John Hodgman's expectations for "Mad Men" Season 5.

NCAA college football re-entered Twitter-Wood this weekend, and though the Boise State game last night dominated posting, Marlon Wayans sounded off today about news that Reggie Bush could be stripped of his 2005 Heisman Trophy.

Revelations abounded as well. Milla Jovovich announced which Thundercat character she'd love to play on the big screen (her choice should shock no one), while David Spade and Dax Shepard both came clean with their feelings on "Machete," and it doesn't sound like they agreed. Find out who you side with after the jump, where some photo posts from Quinton Aaron and Eli Roth have also been included.

Two days in a row that I get to start things off with "Star Wars" posts? What a great way to start the week.

Yesterday you got a look at how "Empire Strikes Back" would play as a silent-era film. Today is all about steampunk. "Castle" star Nathan Fillion is a friend to geeks everywhere. This is largely because of his connection to the Whedonverse. Fillion played Captain Hammer in Joss Whedon's Internet sensation, "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," he starred in the short-lived but much-loved TV series "Firefly" (and subsequent movie "Serenity") and he even enjoyed a brief stint on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Yeah, fanfolk love the guy.

One thing that Fillion has never been professionally connected with is "Star Wars." Doesn't mean he's not a fan though. The rest of us can envy him now too, as one enterprising young enthusiast gifted him with a steampunk lightsaber. One of the cooler pieces of fan art I've seen, no question. Hit the jump and decide for yourself. Read More...

Star Wars was on a lot of minds in Twitter-Wood today for some reason. Nathan Fillion received a lightsaber as a gift, Seth MacFarlane used George Lucas' universe to express his own perspective on the proposed mosque in Manhattan that's come under fire and Jim Gaffigan contemplated Darth Vader's fashion motives.

In non-Star Wars tweeting, Simon Pegg really dug Cee-Lo's new single, Brent Spiner found himself attending the same event as former Illinois Rod Blagojevich, and Rainn Wilson has suggestions for Wyclef Jean's campaign to to become Haiti's next president. Find out who's sides you're on after the jump, as well as what Jackie Chan's Korean fan artwork looks like.

Whether or not it ends up being called "A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas," "Harold and Kumar 3" has begun filming, according to writer to writer Jon Hurwitz's tweets today. His movie will follow in the footsteps of other third-chapter films, such as this weekend's box office monster "Toy Story 3." That film's director posted a shot of one of his favorite fans, while actor Nathan Fillion believes the movie may have been the beginning of a very successful date night.

In other posts, Tom Felton and Warwick Davis appear to have had a grand time at Universal Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter over the weekend. Felton even posted a TwitPic from the experience. You can check that out after the jump along with Damon Lindelof's Snooki vs. Sookie question, and picture of Snooki's biting technique, which may answer his question.

The red carpet at the "Iron Man 2" premiere looked pretty swank last night, but for those of us who couldn't make the trip, director Jon Favreau dropped a photo on Twitter. Todd Barry, meanwhile, tweeted about another photo that showed up on the Internet. I can only assume he was referring to the one shown on Telegraph.co.uk of actor Randy Quaid getting arrested.

You can check those retweets out after the jump alongside Shannon Elizabeth's earthquake jitters, Diablo Cody on her "Robot Chicken" contribution and David Spade's take on "Kick-Ass." I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for April 27, 2010.

@ToddBarry I want the children of the world to have smiles as big as the one on Randy Quaid's face when he's being arrested.
-Todd Barry, Actor ("Pootie Tang," "The Wrestler")

@diablocody Going to lend my voice to ROBOT CHICKEN today. I've always been robotic as an actress, so stop-motion might be my calling.
-Diablo Cody, Writer ("Juno," "Jennifer's Body")

@ShannonElizab Am I crazy or was there a small earthquake this morning? I might have dreamed it. Either way I have to put a survival kit together stat!
-Shannon Elizabeth, Actress ("American Pie," "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back")

@JamesUrbaniak The M.I.A. video's allegorical use of redheads reminds me of Randy Newman's allegorical use of short people.

"The Last Airbender" gained at least one new actor in its final days of re-shoots, according to the tweets of Aasif Mandvi. He didn't indicate whether or not the last-minute casting was for a major part, but it sounds like everyone had a good time.

Many more Twitter-Wood citizens had a grand time at the "Kick-Ass" premiere last night, and several big-name attendees were particularly impressed with Hit-Girl actress Chloe Moretz. Eli Roth and Nathan Fillion were two of them. In other posts, Damon Lindelof did his best to sell "Glee" watchers on "Lost," Randy Newman's "Toy Story 3" scoring wrapped and David Wain went to the dentist. You can check out photographic evidence after the jump in Twitter-Wood for April 14th, 2010. Read More...
