RE5

Umbrella Corporation is at it again. The first trailer for "Resident Evil: Retribution," the fifth installment in the "Resident Evil" film series, has hit the web, and it looks like the zombie-killing is back and better than ever.

The movie follows leading lady Alice, played by Milla Jovovich, as she awakens in the heart of Umbrella's operations facility. The survivor continues to hunt down those responsible for the T-virus outbreak, a search that takes her across the world. The synopsis for the movie reveals that the flick eventually culminates in a "mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything she once thought to be true." Sounds like retribution is indeed in order.

"Resident Evil" took no prisoners, save for leading lady Milla Jovovich. Her many co-stars, including Michelle Rodriguez as Rain and Colin Salmon as One, weren't lucky enough to survive the zombie apocalypse. Indeed, the pile of corpses only grows taller and taller as each "Resident Evil" movie trucks along -- but when the fifth film, "Retribution," hits theaters, a few of those corpses will be leaving the pile.

Both Rodriguez and Salmon are signed on for the newest "Resident Evil," though exactly how they'll be involved remains completely unclear. When we caught up with Jovovich and director Paul W.S. Anderson at the "Three Musketeers" junket over the weekend, we asked them point blank: how on earth are Rodriguez and Salmon back in action?

Catwoman's suit in "The Dark Knight Rises" might not look like much on the surface, but apparently it has a violent streak.

The images of Anne Hathaway that hit the web last week showed her riding an all-terrain bike down a set of stairs, and according to reports things went a bit awry during the stunt. When Hathaway's stunt double was performing that scene, the bike ended up running into one of the production's IMAX cameras. Apparently neither the camera nor the cameraman were injured in the crash, but we're hoping that wasn't the extra 90 percent Hathaway was talking about in her recent MTV interview:

When it was announced that Megan Fox wouldn't be returning for the third installment of the "Transformers" franchise, many wondered who would be appealing enough to keep the predominantly young male fan base drooling.

Enter Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the knockout Victoria's Secret model, who is not only stepping off the runway and onto the big screen for her acting debut, but is taking over as the female lead in the billion-dollar franchise, for "Transformers: Dark of the Moon." While we still don't know how her character Carly will stack up against Fox's Mikaela, Rosie has already joined the ranks of models who have made the transition to film.

As we anticipate the 24-year-old beauty's breakout role, we look back at five memorable model's performances on celluloid (hey, it's one of the few times we can actually use "model" and "celluloid" in the same sentence), the good, the bad, and the (coyote) ugly.

SkylineNow that a cholera epidemic has reached Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, and the death toll is climbing toward 1,000, the worsening situation has become a recurring topic of conversation in our Twitter feed. Danny DeVito was searching around for something to do to help yesterday, while Olivia Wilde shared a picture from a Haitian pediatric hospital where she's been hanging out.

In movie-related posts, "Skyline" prompted a few micro-reviews over the weekend. Sasha Grey broke her spectrum of reactions down into a single tweet and may have managed to break a Twitter-Wood record for most sentences in a single post. Check it out after the jump and see if you share her sentiments. Even if you don't, you'll see what Eli Roth received for participating in a "Scream" documentary and what Marlon Wayans recommends for the Minnesota Vikings.

Tom FeltonThe "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" premiere last night must have been a fun time if you had a seat inside. Tom Felton and Warwick Davis both came away tweeting pleasant things about the experience, though Davis might have preferred a different seat.

Milla Jovovich, meanwhile, still has a while before she needs to think about showing up for her "Three Musketeers" premiere. She did reach her final day of filming, though, and knows exactly what she'll be doing next. You'll find her enthusiasm down below, listed with retweets from Seth MacFarlane and Damon Lindelof reacting to Harrison Ford, as well as David Slade's meditation on the death of Dino De Laurentiis.

Banksy's Simpsons IntroThe "Red" premiere must have been a lively event, judging from the Twitter pics that showed up last night. "Eclipse" actor BooBoo Stewart grabbed a photo op with Morgan Freeman, as well as "Weird Al" Yankovic, who found Ernest Borgnine. Their picto-posts were accompanied by some slice of life scenes from Seth Green, Snoop Dogg and Milla Jovovich, which you'll also find below.

In trending current events topics, Steve Martin and Simon Pegg cracked some jokes but also sent sympathies out to the trapped Chilean Miners, Damon Lindelof threw a tweet in Brett Favre's face and David Silverman was glad the Internet seemed to like Banky's "Simpsons" intro.

Damon Lindelof has voiced his opinions on the "American Idol" judge lineup before, and this week's announcement that Jennifer Lopez or Steven Tyler would be replacing Simon Cowell on the show didn't inspire a flattering comparison from him. One new face on last night's "Glee" season premiere, meanwhile, did draw a compliment from Virginia Madsen.

In other tweets, Milla Jovovich shared a photo of her dress for "The Three Musketeers," while Seth Green had some fierce words for another Twitter user about his wife. All of this drama was accompanied by a goodbye tweet from Paris Hilton addressed to her Asian fans when she was forced to leave Japan prematurely. You can find out who Green was talking, as well as what Wes Craven had to say about wrapping "Scream 4."

Long before "Resident Evil: Afterlife" was even being pitched, the first video game etched some ridiculous lines and voice acting into its players' memories. MTV Multiplayer Editor Russ Frushtick decided to see how well the latest film's seasoned cast members could do reading lines such as "It might be handy if you, the Master of Unlocking, take it with you," and try as they might, Milla Jovovich, Boris Kodjoe and Ali Larter weren't able to save them. The results were hilarious, however.

We at the MTV blogs looked at the exercise as a history lesson for the thespians, though. They all seemed to get into the parts, and you definitely can't knock them for a lack of energy. Milla Jovovich might even be able to take over all of Capcom's voice-acting duties the next time they decide to make a game sequel.

Until then, witness her spirited attempt to nail the line "Whoa, this hall is dangerous!" in the video clip above, and I think you can tell that she's completely internalized what it's like to be trapped in a building full of undead biohazard creatures roaming around trying to gut her.

Meanwhile, I'd actually love to see an edition made available of first "RE" with the part of Barry Burton recast using Kodjoe. Give a listen to his execution of the hallway warning, and I think you'll agree.

What do you think of the "Resident Evil: Afterlife" cast's attempts to save the first game's script? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!
