Fast FiveAfter months of promotion (it felt like years), "The Voice" finally premiered last night to huge numbers. During the show, the twitter-verse exploded, and tweet-shrapnel came from every which way, including Hollywood.

Meanwhile, the opening of "Thor" mightily approaches, and actress/singer Miley Cyrus wants in. While she's not billed for the film, Miley posted her own addition to the superhero epic. We have a feeling it's not going to make the final cut, but hey, here's hoping. All this and "Fast Five" is already receiving rave reviews -- and one outlet just doesn't get it.

I'm @TravisHelwig and this is Twitter-Wood for April 27th, 2011.

It's been awhile since I last had a Miley Cyrus edition of Daily TwitPic for you. The pop star made the (probably wise) decision to sign herself off of the microblogging service for good, thus ending a regular flow of updates from the world of Hannah Montana's real-life counterpart.

Lucky for you fans, Cyrus is shooting a movie right now with someone who does use Twitter pretty regularly. She joins Demi Moore in the upcoming remake of the 2008 French film "LOL: Laughing Out Loud." In today's TwitPic, Cyrus and Moore smile for a photo op during what appears to be a night off with "LOL" writer/director Lisa Azuelos and her daughter. The movie is supposed to hit theaters sometime next year. Read More...

Pop songstress Miley Cyrus got her big break with the Disneyfied alter-ego Hannah Montana, star of the hit Disney Channel series bearing the same name. She's now been attached to star in "Wake," an adaptation of the the young adult horror novel by Lisa McCann. Cyrus will star as a young woman who is pulled into other people's dreams against her will. Paramount and MTV Films have optioned the rights to the full trilogy of books, with the first adaptation being scripted by "Disturbia" co-writer Christopher Landon. FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus are young, beautiful, rich and famous so it isn't at all surprising that the two girls, in their off-time (which we imagine is rare to come by) like to spend their time frolicking in bathing suits.

This week, Taylor released a video of herself dancing on the beach, jumping into the ocean and standing under a waterfall. The video is pretty much just Taylor having fun, but it's interesting to see the usually covered-up pop star, so scantily clad.

The nice thing about Twitter-stalking celebrities is that under most circumstances there is no danger of injury or harm to personal property, which is more than can be said of Christian Serratos' mother's car today, according the "Twilight" star's tweets.

And while danger may not have been a factor, Miley Cyrus seems to have decided that Twitter is no longer the place for her, according to her final tweet before closing her account. I will personally miss the pictures or her mullet-wigged, surgical masked father, in addition to all of her meditative wisdom, and wish her well offline. Sarah Silverman, Ice-T and Jessica Simpson are all still online though. Believe or not, they all posted pics over the last 24 hours, and Silverman's is easily the least bizarre. Oh, and let's also take a moment to welcome Tracy Morgan to the Twitter community. He greets us with an ominous message, but that's nothing compared to the NSFW one that follows. Check 'em all out below in the Twitter-Wood report for October 8, 2009. Read More...

There was a lot to catch up on in Twitter-Wood today after my long weekend, including the 40th anniversary of Monty Python's first appearance on television, which member John Cleese and fan Edgar Wright both noted. Elsewhere, Edward Norton and Danny Masterson had good things to tweet about Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke's live solo performance, and Miley Cyrus and Ashley Tisdale joined Paris Hilton among those tweeting their Halloween costume plans for 2009.

There is loads more to check out, though, believe it or not, as James Gunn tweeted a pic of himself offering juice to a horse that may belong to Rainn Wilson and Jeremy Piven posted a behind-the-scene shot of Matt Damon from "Entourage." I can't even summarize it all today, I retweeted so many people. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter-Wood report for October 5, 2009. Read More...

Warmoth's out again today. He hates me, you see. Really though, he busts his rear for this column and he gets a break whenever he wants it. The Twitter-Wood was relatively quiet today, but not so quiet that I've got nothing for you. Aubrey O'Day made some noise with a fairly scandalous TwitPic, the one that earned today's Twitter Pic of the Day honors. There were some strong runner-up contenders however from Danny Masterson and Fred Durst.

On the text tweet front, Amber Benson talks about her painful future as a roller derby girl, Rainn Wilson makes a startling observation, Michael McKean comes up with a brilliant movie idea and Ice-T addresses a very personal rumor. Plus, Gil Birmingham from the totally unpopular "Twilight" series brings an update from the set of "Eclipse." I'm @geminibros and this is your Twitter-Wood for October 2, 2009. Have a kickass weekend, y'all. Read More...

Poor Miley Cyrus. The pop sensation has been sick with strep throat lately. Not fun. She's been quite the trooper though. Those who keep up with her Twitter feed know that Miley soldiered her way through a performance in Salt Lake City. For most people with strep, it's all they can do to open their mouth for a drink of water. Miley though... she got up in front of her screaming fans and sang. That's dedication.

To hear her tell it though, the "Hannah Montana" star wouldn't be quite so on top of her game if she didn't have a solid support network backing her up. Especially her dad, country/pop singer Billy Ray Cyrus. In today's Daily TwitPic, Miley demonstrates the goofy lengths her dad will go to to put a smile on her face. Read More...

Barack Obama has at least one passionate backer in Twitter-Wood for his Chicago Olympics pitch. Jeremy Piven tweeted support for his home city today, as the International Olympic Committee makes its final decision in Copenhagen. John Cusack, meanwhile, continued his intercontinental rounds and tweets today upon leaving North Korea for Japan, though it's anyone's guess how he got in there in the first place.

In lighter tweetage, "Twilight" actor Justin Chon continued his TwitPic marathon, Christopher Mintz-Plasse took a shot of his sleeping dad, and Miley Cyrus showed what her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus does to cheer her up when she's down. They're all in an unexpected Father Appreciation Special today. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for September 30, 2009. Read More...

"Twilight" covers pretty much turned into the Sports Illustrated cover of hand-modeling gigs, but Kimbra Hickey snagged it, and actor Justin Chon earned my photo pic for the day with his candid TwitPic of her from the weekend. Chon, Peter Facinelli, and Christian Serratos all posted over the weekend, and Serratos contributed her own TwitPic, which you'll find below.

Moving on down the feed, Miley Cyrus appears to have had a good time and a Britney Spears concert, and the two performers exchanged Twitter gushes when it was all over. Ice-T, meanwhile, was not gushing in his criticism toward public reaction Saturday when Jenny Slate dropped the F-bomb on "Saturday Night Live." I'm @brianwarmoth, and you can check out all of those posts, along with more Rose McGowan fan artwork(!), Dane Cook with Andre Agassi and what Amanda Bynes wants in a boyfriend. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for September 28, 2009. Read More...
