Apparently Dr. Seuss won't be the only colorful character in Johnny Depp's upcoming biopic about the children's book author. Some of his beloved characters might be making an appearance in the film as well.
In an interview with Larry King, Depp said that the biographical movie will likely feature a combination of live action and animation.
"It's something we're developing with Seuss' widow, [Theodor] Geisel's widow," he said. "It's a very exciting possibility, because it's a combination of live-action and ... the characters will certainly have a role."

As we could tell from the trailer, Marc Forster's "Machine Gun Preacher" isn't one of those overwrought, melodramatic, "based on a true story," feel good films. According to stars Gerard Butler and Michelle Monaghan, what sets it apart from the pack is the fact that it is about a flawed hero who finds his true calling through a violent, intense, and inspiring journey.
"This isn’t a story you hear every single day," Monaghan told MTV news. "He’s sort of a hero but a flawed hero, and that’s exactly what the title entails. As you read the story you realize the journey this man has been on."

Last night, I checked out an early screening of "Source Code," and while I can't tell you much, I can say the sci-fi flick is a very worthy successor to director Duncan Jones' 2009 cliche-defying debut, "Moon." Honestly, though, like "Moon," it's best to go into "Source Code" knowing only the framework.
If you don't already know, the concept is that Jake Gyllenhaal is a solider sent back, via an uber-complicated computer program, to relive the last eight minutes of a stranger's life on a commuter train in a quest to suss out the identity of the terrorist who bombed the train and plans on wreaking much worse havoc soon. Got it? Good!
Ahead of the film's April 1st release date, we're bringing you not one but two new exclusive clips to further entice your cinematic palate yet keep you guessing about "Source Code." In the first clip, Gyllenhaal pauses in his bomb-sniffing duties long enough to get a little sugar from fellow train passenger Michelle Monaghan. Who says there's no time for a little romance when you're on a train loaded with explosives and you've shuttled back in time to save the day?

In the new romantic dramedy "Love & Other Drugs" (out November 24), Jake Gyllenhaal gets it on with Anne Hathaway over and over and over again. In the upcoming sci-fi thriller "Source Code" (out April 15) he has to relive the same eight minutes of another man's life over and over and over again. And, each time, it ends the same way: with him getting blown up. While the whole having sex with Anne Hathaway thing sure sounds preferable, the newly released trailer for "Source Code" makes a strong case that the latter option is equally as awesome.
In the flick, Gyllenhaal plays Captain Colter Stevens, a decorated soldier tasked with figuring out who bombed a Chicago commuter train. And here's the twist: As part of the titular "Source Code" experiment, Stevens investigates the bombing by inhabiting another man's body for the last eight minutes of his life. As it happens, said man was on the train that went boom for those precious 480 seconds, and Stevens must relive the explosive incident ad nauseum, gathering clues each time, so that he can discover the bomber's identity and prevent a second, much deadlier, terrorist attack from killing millions of Chicagoans. One of the most disappointing trends I've noticed thus far during the ongoing awards season is the repeated snubbing of Duncan Jones' excellent unconventional sci-fi character study, "Moon." If you haven't seen it, correct that quickly.
Snubbed or not, at least Jones is getting more work. He will next direct "Source Code," a sci-fi thriller about a soldier whose orders to investigate a terrorist bombing require him to inhabit the body of a commuter killed in the attack, reliving those events over and over in his search for answers. Jake Gyllenhaal has already been cast as the solder; this morning's news brings word of two more joining the cast: Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan. Read more...

Last time we checked in on possibility-defying super-agent Ethan Hunt, he had once again saved the world and was headed off on his honeymoon. Three years after "Mission: Impossible III" ended, Tom Cruise and J.J. Abrams are gearing up for a fourth go at the franchise. So what's happened to Hunt during this period of "Mission" silence?
Has he given up the life of a secret-keeping secret agent for the pleasures and pains of committed matrimony? Or did Hunt ditch his bride Julia and dive back into a world of insurmountable obstacles, cool gadgets and witty one-liners? And how, if at all, would Hunt's character arc impact the possibility of Michelle Monaghan, who played Julia, returning to the franchise? Read more...

Late last week, my girlfriend and I plopped onto the couch to watch "Trucker," Michelle Monaghan's indie flick that has been doing the film festival circuit since debuting at Tribeca in 2008. I'd be sitting down with the actress the next day—a day before the movie was set to get a theatrical release—and some kind marketing folks had sent the DVD my way.
Within the first few seconds of "Trucker," there's Monaghan vigorously, vociferously gettin' busy in a motel room. My girlfriend wondered aloud just what kind of movie I'd brought home, while I, I must confess, was hooked. So was Monaghan, as I'd find out when she stopped by the MTV News offices to chat.
