David Arquette and Courteney CoxA couple of veteran action heroes spoke up on Twitter in the last 24 hours to comment on their past accomplishments, and you may be interested to see how Sylvester Stallone feels about cheesiness, as well as how Arnold Schwarzenegger responded to an accusation that he sold out when he made "Junior."

Elsewhere, other headline news topics of the day showed up: Jim Carrey sent a message out to the miners in Chile, Todd Barry defended coverage of David Arquette and Courteney Cox's split, and Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter reacted to recent comments by Christine O'Donnell.

Corey Haim meant a lot things to the posters in Twitter-Wood, and his unexpected death this morning triggered an outpouring of rememberances. Ashton Kutcher called him a "childhood hero," Alyssa Milano said he was a "sweet boy," and numerous other noted their favorite Haim films, from "The Lost Boys" and "Lucas" to "License to Drive" and "Dream a Little Dream."

Whether they remembered him as a someone they watched before coming to Hollywood or as a fellow actor whose career spanned decades, Haim got a lot of love from the Twitter community today. "The Lost Boys" will outdo "Twilight" every time on my all-time favorite vampire films lists, and Haim will remain there along with it. Check out what everyone had to say after the jump, and feel free to share your own memories in the comments. Read More...

Today's Twitter-Wood came under duress, as TwitPic.com was down for a while, and I wasn't sure where the Twitter Pic of the Day was going to come from. Luckily, everything worked out and I didn't have to make a blind decision. That means I've fully vetted today's shot of John Travolta at the opening for "From Paris With Love," Jason Reitman's view of Oprah's birthday celebration and Jackie Earle Haley's photo opp at Golden Ear Park.

The feed also brought a status update from Kevin Smith on his film "Hit Somebody," which is based on one of my all-time favorite Warren Zevon songs, a few more thoughts on J.D. Salinger's passing and a pre-date dilemma from Diablo Cody. Check it all out and find out who was backstage at the Grammy Awards yesterday in Twitter-Wood for January 29, 2010. Read More...

If you read Twitter-Wood for the pictures, you picked a good day to stop by, because I've got a veritable Twitter slideshow set up for you today, starting with a Woody Allen jazz performance and including but not limited to Emmy Rossum in a turkey hat and Shakira hobnobbing with Larry King.

You may or may not have known that "Pulp Fiction" writer Roger Avary was currently serving time at Ventura County Jail in California. His tweets from inside recently came to my attention, such today's where he introduces a new neighbor. Check those posts out after the jump along with Richard Kelly's question about "Avatar," Dane Cook's problem with Adam Lambert and Michael Showalter's feelings about "Bad Lieutenant." It's all in the Twitter Report for November 24, 2009. Read More...

Editor's note: There were apparently some technical difficulties last night, as Twitter-Wood never ran. So in lieu of today's Daily TwitPic, here's a special morning edition of Twitter-Wood for 9/14/09.

The VMA's trended nearly as well in the Twitter-Wood feed last night as they did on Twitter, and if you've had any internet access over the last 24 hours you probably know that a lot of that was provoked by Kanye West's unexpected interruption during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech. Elizabeth Banks, Kat Dennings, John Stamos and others contributed to the online conversation that followed, expressing their thoughts on his interjection.

Football was pretty popular last night as well, and if you didn't know that Ashton Kutcher was a Bears fan, you do now, thanks to Demi Moore's photo tweet of her defeated fan-husband after the Green Bay Packers stuck it to Chicago in the fourth quarter. Check out all of those posts, as well as Edgar Wright's suggestion to Jason Reitman, Sasha Grey in a Wonder Woman costume and much more. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for September 14, 2009. Michael JacksonThe memorial tweets continued long after I checked the Twitter-Wood feed last night and posted the flurry of reactions to Michael Jackson's death that were showing up. Today, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger offered his condolences and Paris Hilton, in addition to a steady stream of thoughts about the King of Pop's death, posted a recent family photo taken with Jackson.

There will surely be more before today's regular Twitter-Wood update goes up later today, but in the meantime, here are the day's most recent Michael Jackson-related tweets from Jon Favreau, Mariel Hemingway, Michael Ian Black, and others. Read More...

Gwyneth PaltrowProtests, marches, and link-passing have taken over Twitter following last week's contested election results in Iran, and the Twitter-Wood feed has been no exception. Alyssa Milano has been particularly persistent with her #iranelection-tagged tweets, and directors Errol Morris, James Gunn, and Jon Favreau all logged on to comment on the events in Tehran.

Meanwhile, a few tweets squeaked through with details from the "Iron Man 2" and "Casino Jack" sets, as well as from Wil Wheaton's guest appearance on the TNT series "Leverage." Also, Jonah Hill joins Kat Dennings and Nick Jasenovec in doubting the legitimacy of the controversial Michael Cera Twitter account that I've mentioned before. Click onward for all of these, birthday wishes to actor Michael Showalter, a much more in 140 characters or less in today's Twitter-Wood report! Read More...
