Twitter-Wood kicks off today with a big birthday shout-out to music legend Bob Dylan, who turned 70 years old today, and we're not the only ones sending him birthday wishes, either; several people in the film community have tipped their tweets in the "Like a Rolling Stone" singer-songwriter's direction on his big day.
Elsewhere, comedy mastermind Judd Apatow and "Breaking Dawn" star Jamie Campbell Bower revealed a little bit too much about their personal lives (though the laughs we're still fighting off should tell you that we're not complaining), two recent comedies get some new appraisals and Diablo Cody pours one out for her Showtime series "The United States of Tara," which was canceled yesterday.
I'm @roundhoward and this is Twitter-Wood for May 24, 2011.

Last year's Sundance favorite "Adventures of Power" hits DVD on January 25, and Phase 4 Films and Onitsuka Tiger are partnering to give the film one heck of a kick-ass launch.
The DVD launch party will take place on January 27th in Los Angeles, and will feature a live performance by the indie folk-rock band the Honey Bros., a.k.a. the band in which "Entouarge" and "Adventures of Power" star Adrian Grenier plays drums. It will also serve to advertise a concurrent online auction that will benefit VH1's Save the Music Foundation, which ensures that children have access to a musical education and instruments.
The auction will kick off online on CharityBuzz.com on January 25 and run through February 22. Auction items include celebrity-signed instruments such as an autographed cymbal from Ringo Starr and signed drums from Neil Peart of Rush, Marky Ramone of the Ramones and Lars Ulrich of Metallica. Fans will also be able to bid on "experiential" items such as lunch with Marky Ramone and an acting audition with "Role Models" director David Wain. Get more auction details on the film's official site, and hit the jump to check out Adrian Grenier in an "Adventures of Power" music video. Read more...

Charlie Sheen attracted some attention in Twitter-Wood today after police reportedly found him in a poor state of affairs in a New York hotel room, possibly under the influence of some foreign substances. Michael Ian Black spoke up about him today, while Seth Meyers took a moment to remember Paul the psychic octopus and Michael McKean discussed what he wished the epilogue from "The Social Network" would have addressed.
Elsewhere, Paris Hilton took a shot of herself on the "Hard Times of RJ Berger" set, while Frankie Muniz cheered on the beginning of a new NBA season and Aziz Ansari pondered an unlikely Halloween costume. Find out if you think he can pull it off down below.

Word that Tom Bosley passed away at the age of 83 hit Twitter-Wood this afternoon. TV's father from "Happy Days," Father Dowling of "Father Dowling Mysteries" and the voice of David the Gnome, Bosley showed up in the tweets of Neil Patrick Harris, James Gunn and Michael McKean today.
In other posting, the feed got hit with a rush of photos in the last 24 hours. Jessica Alba showed herself getting ready for some "Spy Kids 4" action, while Steve Agee was palling around with Brody Stevens and Aasif Mandvi got in the shower with his clothes on. You'll find them all retweeted after the jump along with evidence that Jim Carrey's face muscles are in the best shape of his life and an idea for a new "Star Wars" film fomr the producer of "Fanboys."

In case you were wondering how the crew on the set of "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" kicks back between takes, producer Jerry Bruckheimer shared a snapshot in his feed today. It's entirely possible that their lunch breaks are more fun than yours.
Meanwhile in New York, a few posts surfaced from the Jay-Z and Kanye West performances this week. Jeremy Piven, as usual, seems to have had a pretty nice view. His post, along with a memory of the late actor Kevin McCarthy, someone who claims not to know what "Halo" is and John Stamos' most recent activities on the "Glee" set appear below.

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel became a hot topic right after Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley announced this week that he wouldn't run for re-election next year. Michael McKean, meanwhile, was insightful enough to ask if Emanuel's path would trigger a parallel move on the part of his brother Ari, the inspiration for Jeremy Piven's "Entourage" character.
Elsewhere in Twitter-Wood, movies are being made and released as usual. Tyrese Gibson continued his updates about "Transformers 3," while Brian Lynch looked ahead to the new "Resident Evil" this weekend, and photos of Nina Dobrev on the "Vampire Diaries" set, Denise Richards in a cheerleader outfit and Gary Sinise thanking his Twitter followers showed up.

I'll warn you now, today's Daily TwitPic is hard to look at. It's obviously not real, but special effects folks are doing incredible things with latex and makeup these days.
What I can't figure out is where this photo comes from. I initially saw it and thought, "Huh, I didn't know Michael McKean had a 'Piranha 3D" cameo." That's because he didn't have one. But the state of his arm in the image after the jump could certainly have come from that set. Nasty stuff.
All McKean has coming up right now is "City of Shoulders and Noses," the synopsis for which reads as follows: The son of a renowned sculptor and a beautiful Italian heiress must endure the deranged behavior of his stepmother, while his friends help him unlock the thirty year-old mystery of his parents' murders in New Haven, Connecticut. Doesn't sound super-gory, right? It's also in pre-production. Bring your guesses here to the comments section. And seriously-- if you're squeamish about gore, even fake gore, think twice before hitting the jump. Read more...

Michael Ian Black may not work for the U.S. government, but if he did, he knows what he would want to name the next hurricane that shows up, and he thinks that Hurricane Earl is far too tame of a title. Marlon Wayans had disasters on his mind, too, and sent some sleepless Twitter love out to Pakistan and the miners trapped in Chile.
In photo tweets, horror ruled today. Eli Roth shared a "Last Exorcism" party picture, and Michael McKean offered up a make-up shot that's not for the faint of heart. Have a look down below where you'll see which "Eclipse" actor scored a ticket to the U.S. Open, what Dane Cook thinks about "Dancing with the Stars" and how Jon Favreau spends his lunch breaks.

Someone had to make the first Twitter-Wood comparison between "The Wire" and the Rod Blagojevich trial, and Seth Meyers was that man. He, along with Roger Ebert and Jeff Katz had reactions to the single guilty verdict in Chicago last night, and they all posted those thoughts on Twitter.
In other tweets, "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" has received a lot of love from critics, despite its poor box office performance. Bret Easton Ellis decided to part ways with the pack, however, and declared his dissatisfaction with the movie. Find out how he felt below along with a weird exchange about Target between Michael Ian Black and Dane Cook and insights into Dr. Laura quitting her radio show.

Just Diablo Cody's pregnancy tweets have come to an end, so have Alanis Morissette's begun. The singer and actress proudly proclaimed her new status today, and seems to have picked up the baton where the Cody left it.
A few posts sneaked out of current entertainment projects as well over the last 24 hours, as Mark Webber showed off a Michael Cera shot that he saved from "Scott Pilgrim vs. The Wold," Robert Rodriguez completed "Machete," and Ice-T discussed Jennifer Love Hewitt's involvement in an upcoming episode of "Law and Order: SVU." Find out more about that, as well as what Stephen Colbert thinks about the girl in the job-quitting whiteboard prank after the jump.
