Tim Burton

Tim Burton is busy, as he always is. There's the Johnny Depp-ledadaptation of the soap opera "Dark Shadows," his long-running update of his "Frankenweenie" animated project, and his producing work on the live screen "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" (in case you forgot about that one, not that you could). All of those projects look exciting, and we're sure his legions of fans will flock to them in the theaters. But it's another project that would get more casual moviegoers jazzed beyond jazzed -- a sequel to "Beetlejuice," his horror-comedy classic from the '80s.

Talking to MTV News, Burton divulged a little about his thought process regarding any potential work on "Beetlejuice 2."

A Nightmare on Elm Street-- Freddy's back for a "Nightmare on Elm Street" sequel, possibly in 3-D, as Warner distribution president Dan Fellman says: "We don't have a story yet, but this is the largest horror opening in the April-May corridor, and it just proves there's a lot left in the franchise." [The Wrap]

-- Rumors are circulating that a trailer for a J.J. Abrams project called "Super 8," which may or may not be a sequel to "Cloverfield," will premiere in front of "Iron Man 2." Who knows if there's any truth to the rumor, though director Matt Reeves recently acknowledged "spikes in activity" regarding the project. [HitFix]

-- Michael Keaton loves talking about playing Ken in "Toy Story 3," and we love hearing him talk about it. "Ken actually serves as kind of a concierge — somewhere between a tour guide, a concierge, maitre d' and ambassador," he says. "He's not only alone in his dream house but probably alone in the dream." Glorious. [Hero Complex] Read More...

As far as 2010 comedies go, it’s hard to imagine one that sounds more promising than “The Other Guys.” I mean, it’s got Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, Steve Coogan, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes and Paris Hilton in it, it’s directed by “Anchorman” genius Adam McKay – and it even has a scene when Derek Jeter gets gunned down! I mean, what's not to like?

The film also features Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – who told me recently that he saw his first clips from the film and it looks as hilarious as you’d expect. Read More...

Very exciting news coming out of Hollywood, as IESB reports that our favorite merry gentleman, Michael Keaton, has joined the cast of "Toy Story 3” as the voice of Barbie's boyfriend, Ken.

Not much beyond that is known, and the film's plot itself is a bit of an enigma. We know that it'll revolve around Andy's toys being left behind at a day care center when he heads off for college, that Hammy will have a villain-turned-superhero redemption tale, and that Mrs. Potato Head will have a far larger role.

Stay tuned for more "Toy Story 3” news, but in the meantime just for kicks, after the jump watch our interview with Keaton talking about a Beetlejuice sequel that took place in Hawaii. Read More...
