"Men Who Stare at Goats," the new George Clooney and Ewan McGregor film about psychic soldiers, kicked off a flurry of commentary on Twitter this week, and at least one producer out there loves Jeff Bridges' role.

There's been a lot of real-life drama sweeping through the Twitter-Wood feed as well this week, including Ted Kennedy's death and memorial service and the wildfires in Los Angeles that have forced thousands of residents out of their upscale L.A. neighborhoods. George ClooneyOkay, that headline isn't entirely accurate. Sure paints an amusing picture though, doesn't it? The actual news is that George Clooney has been keeping very busy at the 2009 Cannes International Film Festival. Variety brings word that two Cloonster projects have been picked up by two different studios.

In "A Very Private Gentleman," adapted from the Martin Booth novel, Clooney will play an assassin who settles into a backcountry town in Italy as he prepares for his next assignment. The normally "Private" man's exterior crumbles as small-town relationships take hold. Universal's art house division Focus Features picked up the film, with Anton Corbijn in place to direct. Rebecca MaderIt isn't an all-boys club any longer on the set of George Clooney's "Men Who Stare At Goats." The Hollywood Reporter has announced the addition of Rebecca Mader, who you saw on "Lost" last season. She played Charlotte, the red-haired and crisply English schemer, and proud member of those murderous "rescuers."

And she really is joining quite the boys club, as "Goats" boasts not only Clooney, but Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey, and Jeff Bridges -- and the coolest title I've seen for a movie all year. Read more...
