Thank goodness for Funny or Die. The comedy website teamed up with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this year to create the funniest trailer we've seen for the Oscars as far back as we can remember.
While we aren't so sure Josh Duhamel and Megan Fox are actually the two people the Academy would turn to in a time of need, they certainly sell their roles here. It's their task to go find "The Host" -- aka Billy Crystal -- and convince him to host this year's Oscars. Along the way they get ordered around by William Fichtner, receive some clues from Vinnie Jones and get a ride in a barge from Robin Williams. Because why not.

It's been a little while since we've heard from Sacha Baron Cohen on the solo comedy front. Back in 2006, every annoying person you know dressed up as Borat for Halloween, but increasing familiarity with his mockumentary tactics made it more and more difficult for Cohen to film without being noticed.
Cue "The Dictator," a classically Cohen character who isn't making his debut mockumentary style. The trailer for the film, which just arrived via Moviefone, reveals a very conventionally shot take on a very goofy character -- half the typical formula, updated for modern times.

Hot off the heels of "Battleship," Alexander Skarsgard is lining up plenty of new film projects to keep him busy during his "True Blood" off-season.
The latest of these is Brit Marling's thriller "The East," The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The flick follows a female agent who penetrates an eco-terrorist group called The East. THR says that if the deal happens, Skarsgard will play the head of the group who is seeking revenge against unethical corporations.

We don't know too much about Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up" spin-off movie project, other than the fact that it centers around lovable/slightly dysfunctional couple Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann), a few years after the events that occur in the Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen pregnancy comedy. Also, if we know one thing about Apatow comedies, it is more than likely that a slew of famous faces will appear in the film, be it in a supporting or cameo role.
Apatow has been cagey about revealing any more casting or cameo details, but one interesting addition that was actually announced back in March is Megan Fox, and although we don't yet know who she plays in the film, star Leslie Mann assured us that she is a welcome addition to the cast.
"Megan Fox is so funny," she told us Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere of "The Change-Up." "She's hilarious. You wouldn't, I don't know if other people [expect it], but I think she's really funny, you'll be pleasantly surprised."

Megan Fox is ready to return to comedy, this time to lend a hand in Sacha Baron Cohen's dictatorship.
According to THR, Fox and John C. Reilly will be making cameos in Cohen's latest flick, "The Dictator." They will be joining Anna Faris and Ben Kingsley in the movie, which tells the heroic story of "a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed." "The Dictator" is set for release on May 11, 2012.
After the jump, find out what films Jennifer Lopez is circling, who else joined "Snow White and the Huntsman" as dwarves and what project Jason Momoa has decided to star in.

"Passion Play" is, in a world, surreal. It stars Mickey Rourke as a down-on-his-luck jazz musician named Nate, who comes to a circus and finds himself drawn to Lily (Megan Fox), aptly named the Bird Woman because of the wings on her back. But the growing bond between this unlikely pair is threatened by the ruthless businessman Happy Shannon, played by none other than "Zombieland" cameo master and expert "Ghostbusters" dodger Bill Murray.
Like I said, surreal: strange premise and an unlikely assemblage of high-profile actors, all under the watchful eye of director and writer Mitch Glazer. There's been a lot of buzz surrounding this movie (some good, some bad), but as always, the proof is in the pudding — or, in this case, the exclusive clip.
We've got an exclusive first-look at a scene from "Passion Play" which, sadly, does not feature any Mickey Rourke at all. Instead, this one's all about Lily and, to a much greater extent, Happy — who, we find out, is not really Happy at all. In a manner of speaking. Watch the clip and you'll see what I mean.
"Passion Play" opens in limited release on May 6.
Tell us what you think of the clip in the comments section and on Twitter!

Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up" spinoff just got a whole lot foxier.
The currently untitled comedy, which sees Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann reprising their roles as dysfunctional married duo Pete and Debbie from "Knocked Up," has added its first additional cast member in the form of Megan Fox. The "Transformers" actress is in negotiations to star in the Universal comedy, though her role remains unknown at this time. But since when has a little bit of secrecy ever stopped us from guessing?
After the jump, check out some of the different character types we could see Fox playing in Apatow's latest laugher.

Lara Croft will start raiding theatrical tombs again within the next two years, but when she resumes her adventures, Angelina Jolie won't be anywhere in sight.
GK Films has announced that they have acquired the feature film rights to the "Tomb Raider" franchise with the intention of rebooting the video game-turned-movie series, according to Deadline. The current plan is to release the reboot in 2013, which would mark 10 years since 2003's "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life."
It's impossible to separate the success of the first two "Tomb Raider" films from Angelina Jolie, but producers are seemingly going in their own new direction for the reboot. But Jolie's loss is another young actress' gain -- the question is, who could possibly replace the blockbuster actress? We're contemplating our potential new Lara Croft past the jump!

The 68th Annual Golden Globes are a wrap, folks!
And in case you missed our awesome LIVE BLOG coverage (nice job, Katie!), here's what went down. Ricky Gervais rocked the hosting duties. No surprise there. Robert Downey Jr. said he'd "like to give it" to all five nominees for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, and we're pretty sure he wasn't talking about the award.
Similarly unsurprising: Colin Firth won Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama, Natalie Portman cinched Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for "Black Swan," Matt Damon presented Robert De Niro with the Cecil B. DeMille Award (yeah, that was announced beforehand), Christian Bale and Melissa Leo scored victories for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress for their turns in "The Fighter," "Toy Story 3" prevailed in the Best Animated Motion Picture category, and Aaron Sorkin and "The Social Network" claimed gold for Best Screenplay and Best Motion Picture - Drama. It's not often we hear about an actor's participation in a film before it's formally announced via Variety or The Hollywood Reporter, but today we're happy to report that MTV News has learned exclusively that Ed Burns has joined 'Friends with Kids,' the upcoming star-studded romantic comedy from "Kissing Jessica Stein" actress-writer-director Jennifer Westfeldt.
Burns is the latest noteworthy addition to the already impressive cast, which includes Megan Fox, Jon Hamm, Adam Scott and Kristen Wiig.
