Harry Potter

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" got snubbed at the Oscars. It's something that most of us here on the MTV Movies Blog team -- and many of you fans out there -- can agree on. But apparently leading man Daniel Radcliffe agrees with us, and he's made his displeasure known.

"There's a certain amount of snobbery," Radcliffe said in an interview with the Radio Times (via The Guardian). "It's kind of disheartening. I never thought I'd care. But it would've been nice to have some recognition, just for the hours put in."

"I don't think the Oscars like commercial films, or kids' films, unless they're directed by Martin Scorsese," Radcliffe added. "I was watching Hugo the other day and going, 'Why was this nominated and we're not?' I was slightly miffed."

Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" is like nothing you've ever seen from the Oscar-winning filmmaker before — and that's a very good thing. Set in Paris in the 1930s, Scorsese's 3-D adventure film centers on Hugo Cabret, a young orphan living a secret life in the walls of a train station where he steals croissants for food and gadgets for a mysterious project he's working on in his spare time. But when Hugo encounters the enigmatic owner of the train station's toy shop, the young boy's purpose finally comes into focus.

A beautifully shot coming-of-age tale that doubles as a love letter to cinema, "Hugo" is one of the best movies of the holiday season, and one of Scorsese's all-time finest efforts. Check out five reasons why you need to see this film after the jump.

Immortals

"Immortals" is a movie for the guys, and Relativity wants you to know it, "Twilight" fans.

A new ad for the Tarsem Singh-directed action flick is trying to sell the film to a male audience while "the girls are at 'Twilight.'" "Real men can still get some action," the TV spot promises. Then again, I can highly recommend "Immortals" as a female-friendly flick as well (hell-ooo Henry Cavill). Your move, "Breaking Dawn -- Part 1."

J. EdgarIf Leonardo DiCaprio picks up an Oscar nomination for his role as the enigmatic head of the FBI in "J. Edgar," that will make him two-for-two with Academy Award nominations and biopics. (We won't count "Catch Me If You Can" because it focused on Tom Hanks' character almost as much as Frank Abagnale, Jr.)

Ever since he was nominated in 2005 for his role as Howard Hughes in "The Aviator," a number of other biopic projects have made headlines with DiCaprio's name attached to star. So many have come up, in fact, that it's been hard to keep track of them all -- so we've compiled a list of the biopics DiCaprio's been at least mentioned with. Check them out past the jump!

"Fleming"
Back in 2008, DiCaprio began developing a biopic based on the life of Ian Fleming, the author of the James Bond novels. The script under went one re-write, and a rival project popped up roughly a year later. Not much has been heard from the project in two years.

"Paranormal Activity 3" rocked the box office last weekend, and it looks like next October we may be able to find out what happened to Katie and Hunter — a fourth installment in the supernatural chiller is possibly heading our way. (Duh!)

With record-breaking numbers like "PA3's" it's no shocker that Paramount's Don Harris told The Wrap, "I can't imagine that we wouldn't make a number four, and I imagine [Paramount Film Group president] Adam Goodman this morning is thinking about the challenge. I'm sure he's thinking, 'Now what do I do?'" Where do you think they'll take the storyline from here?

Ponder that while you hit the jump to read the rest of this week's horror news.

When news broke last month that Martin Scorsese had signed up for a fifth collaboration with Leonardo DiCaprio in the form of "The Wolf of Wall Street," we started wondering what that meant for Scorsese's planned production with Robert De Niro, "The Irishman."

After finishing up the fantastical 3-D flick "Hugo Cabret," and shooting his long gestating "Silence" about Jesuits missionaries in 17th Century Japan, would Scorsese skip over "Irishman" and head straight into "Wall Street"?

That seemed to be the plan according to multiple reports, but not to De Niro himself. When MTV News caught up with the man during a "Limitless" press day, De Niro told us "Irishman," his eighth collaboration with Scorsese, will still be the director's follow-up to "Silence."

Leonardo DiCaprioIt looks like Martin Scorsese wants to snap up his muse Leonardo DiCaprio before Christopher Nolan adds him to the list of "Inception" actors returning for its sequel "The Dark Knight Rises," because now the duo are finally reteaming again with "The Wolf of Wall Street."

The two had been working on this one for a while, but recent reports pegged Ridley Scott as the man to adapt Jordan Belfort's 1990 novel (which also could have meant DiCaprio would be starring in it). Now, Deadline reports that Scorsese and DiCaprio will shoot the film once the director has finished work on "Silence," his summer-shooting adaptation of the Shusaku Endo novel that has Benicio Del Toro and Daniel Day-Lewis attached.

"The Wolf of Wall Street" follows a drug-, sex- and alcohol-addicted brokerage firm operator's rise from a 20-something multi-millionaire in the 1980s to a 30-something federal convict banned from the securities business for life in 1994. This will be Scorsese and DiCaprio's fifth film together, which means DiCaprio is only three films away from being Scorsese's official new muse (since Scorsese and Robert De Niro have done a total of eight films together). Click on after the jump for a quick recap on their previous work together!

Christopher NolanTen years ago, Christopher Nolan was best known for his mind-bending thriller "Memento" and the similarly dark "Insomnia." In the time since, he's directed two extremely successful "Batman" films, cemented his reputation as a master of twists in "The Prestige" and literally received full reign from Warner Bros. in creating his dream film (pun intended), "Inception."

But 10 years after "The Aviator," will the world be ready for another of Nolan's pet projects -- another movie that's all about Howard Hughes?

Let's backtrack a little. In the early 2000s, Nolan had wanted to make a film called "Mr. Hughes" about the renowned aviator and billionaire, based on Michael Drosnin's biography "Citizen Hughes: The Power, the Money and the Madness." But around that same time, Martin Scorsese put his own Hughes film, "The Aviator," into production, and Nolan was forced to back off.

The film went on to be a resounding success and even won five Oscars, but that was seven years ago. Now that Nolan is seemingly on the top of the world (even if he still hasn't received a much-deserved Oscar nomination for his directing), sources inform Vulture that Nolan thinks it's about time to return to the project.

Little Miss SunshineFor those of you out there hoping that the next film "Little Miss Sunshine" directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris will make after their 2006 indie darling will be its sequel, continue holding your breath. But they're bringing us the next best thing.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Dayton and Faris are reteaming with "Little Miss Sunshine" star Paul Dano to headline their new dramedy, and producers Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa are back for more as well. The film, "He Loves Me," is written by and will costar Dano's real-life girlfriend, Zoe Kazan, and is described as "Adaptation" meets "Weird Science."

Berger told the Times that "the plot couldn't be more different than 'Little Miss Sunshine,' but in terms of a movie with comedy, with heart and with strong characters, I think it's very similar."

This is far from the first time directors have reteamed with some of their favorite actors for great results -- click past the jump for some other notable examples -- and we hope that "He Loves Me" can rank up there with them.
