We saw with Liam Neeson's brilliant "Taken" that leading men over 50 can still kick some serious ass, and such was the case with Mel Gibson's bow in "Edge of Darkness," which saw the actor investigating the death of his character's daughter, only to uncover a web of deceit and wacky conspiracies. Well now the action-thriller is hitting store shelves and to celebrate, we've got a featurette from the DVD and Blu-ray's special features. In it, Gibson and director Martin Campbell ("Casino Royale," the upcoming "Green Lantern") take you inside the method of their madness.

Summer 2010 hasn't even arrived yet, and we're already getting excited from summer '11. That largely has to do with the planned June release of "Green Lantern," which director Martin Campbell is adapting from the original DC Comics superhero story. Ryan Reynolds stars as Hal Jordan, the man who becomes the titular world-saver, and Mark Strong plays Sinestro, Jordan's mentor and future Lantern nemesis. The movie may be more than a year away, but that didn't stop Strong from speaking out recently about his role in the film and where its inspiration lies. You can check out the full report on MTV Splash Page.
FROM MTV.COM: "Edge of Darkness" is a revenge thriller ripped from today's headlines. Well, ripped from the headlines of 25 years ago, anyway, back around the time when movies like "Silkwood" and "The China Syndrome" were mopping up Oscar nominations with their fact-based indictments of the nasty nuclear-energy industry.
The original "Edge of Darkness" was a 1985 BBC-TV miniseries whose director, Martin Campbell, has now turned it into a feature film, relocating the story to Boston. But Karen Silkwood was a real person, and "The China Syndrome" echoed the near-meltdown of the 1979 Three Mile Island accident. "Edge of Darkness" has no such real-world roots, and so its concern with a sinister nuclear-research corporation and the brave young anti-nuke activists determined to blow the whistle on it feels stale and dated. It's a movie whose time has passed.

FROM MTV.COM: Much of the current "Green Lantern" speculation focuses on whether Hector Hammond or Sinestro will be the first film's central villain, but there's another question fans are asking these days, too: how much of the movie is set in space?
Given the intergalactic setting of the "Green Lantern" mythology, it's a virtual certainty that the upcoming DC Comics adaptation will spend some time amongst the stars, but just how much otherworldly screen time we'll see remains up in the air.
While the "Edge of Darkness" director didn't have an exact percentage of the balance between space scenes and earthbound events, director Martin Campbell told MTV News that there would be plenty of action spent outside of Earth's orbit.

FROM SPLASH PAGE: With the "Green Lantern" casting rumors running rampant -- is Chris Pine in, or is he out? -- it's hard to identify a reliable bit of news regarding the developing DC superhero flick. But there is at least one thing you can count on -- Hal Jordan, whoever he may be, is heading to Australia.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the superhero feature will shoot in Sydney, Australia at Fox Studios Australia. Pre-production on the movie is set to begin this July with filming slated for November. "Green Lantern" is planned for a December 2010 release.
