As you may recall from yesterday's Twitter-Wood, John Stamos called upon one of his Twitter fans to post a photo of his alleged Uncle Jesse-based tattoo. Well today that tweeter responded in kind, and the wrist tattoos are linked to at the top of the report for all to see now.
In other tweets, Robert Rodriguez gleefully celebrated his confirmed actors for "Machete," calling out Jessica Alba and Robert De Niro. As it turns out, the director has his own Twitter fan in Dane Cook, who's read the script. Kristen Bell, meanwhile, claims to have been reading "hacked" tweets coming out of her account. In what may be a related event, Dax Shepard called out a poser using the fake name @IMkristenBeII (note how two upper case i's can resemble two lowercase L's), who tried to break up with him. You can check out all that drama and more below. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for August 27, 2009. Read more...
-- Yay "Family Guy"!! Not exactly bloggy, but entertaining. The Hollywood Reporter is hosting a three-part video of a full table read for a never-aired "Family Guy" script. The controversial subject of the day is abortion, so you can probably figure out why it never aired. Don't read, just watch. (The Hollywood Reporter)
-- Cinematical has kicked off a pretty great new running feature, "Movies I Will Never See." Contributor Monika Bartyzel wrote up a spin-off post which ponders exactly when "expressing an opinion becomes legitimate." It's actually a consideration of how personal biases inform opinion, rather than an actual questioning of whose opinions are legitimate versus whose aren't. As always, well worth the read. Buckets of blood, violence, foul language and mother-lovin' Danny Trejo aside, "Machete" boasts some serious assets in the form of its impressive ensemble cast. Some of the actors lining up for the Robert Rodriguez-produced "Grindhouse" spin-off include Robert De Niro, Lindsay Lohan, Don Johnson and Steven Seagal. Seriously -- Steven Seagal! The same martial arts genius that brought you "Above the Law," "Hard to Kill" and my personal favorite, "Under Siege 2: Dark Territory"! Not to mention this little gem...
Assuming that all goes as it should, "Machete" is in a position to become one of the most enjoyable ensemble films of all time. The giddier I get about the news, the more and more I think about other classic ensemble movies that "Machete" will one day measure up to. For your reading pleasure, here are five slices from the never-ending ensemble movie pie. Read more...
This video just goes to show you: when Danny Trejo asks for action, Danny Trejo gets action. Does that look like a man you want to eff with? I didn't think so. And now that Trejo will be joined in "Machete" by the oddball supporting cast of Robert De Niro, Lindsay Lohan, Steven Seagal, Don Johnson, Cheech Marin, Jeff Fahey ("Lawnmower Man"!!!!) and Jessica Alba, everyone on the planet has to see it. It's a requirement. Seriously. I think the world might explode if we don't.

"Machete," the first film spawned from the too-cool trailers peppering Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez' "Grindhouse" double feature will begin shooting next week, according to Rodriguez -- and Lindsay Lohan has a role waiting for her.
The "Sin City" director dropped by Movies Blog HQ to promote his upcoming family-friendly feature "Shorts," and while he was there, we had to get an update on the Danny Trejo-starring trailer that's soon to become a full-length film.
"I can't say too much about it except we start shooting in a couple weeks," Rodriguez told MTV News. "These things come together very quickly and we're casting right now. The script just came out great."
Along with addressing the uncommon need for the film to live up to its trailer, the director said the only official casting thus far has been Trejo and Michelle Rodriguez. While he wouldn't confirm rumors that Robert DeNiro might have a role in the film, he did say that Lindsay Lohan has a part waiting for... if she wants it.
"Lindsay's cool," said Rodriguez. "There's actually cool part in the movie for her if she takes it."
Looking forward to "Machete"? What do you think about Robert DeNiro or Lindsay Lohan joining the cast?
Apologies for today's late-breaking Dailies; a battery of meetings threw off my publishing schedule. Then there was yesterday's absence, when The Dailies fell victim of a top secret screening. But I'm back now, baby. And there's lots of news in the movies world, so let's get right down to it.
-- This is rumor territory, so take it for what it's worth. Robert Rodriguez's "Grindhouse" spin-off, "Machete," got a pretty exciting casting update. Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Jonah Hill and Robert freaking De Niro may or may not be joining the cast. The shoot is supposed to get underway in a couple weeks, so we'll all know soon enough. "If you're going to hire Machete to kill the bad guy, you had better make sure the bad guy...isn't you!" Danny Trejo's now-immortalized anti-hero from Robert Rodriguez's faux trailer was one of the few universally-acclaimed parts of "Grindhouse," the dead-on-arrival double-feature from the "El Mariachi" director and Quentin Tarantino.
Rumors of a feature-length leap for the Machete character began almost immediately, given the audience's enthusiastic response to the no-nonsense, ass-kicking, revenge-seeking Mexican immigrant played by Trejo, a fan-favorite character actor and frequent collaborator of Rodriguez. It's a movie that's close to becoming a reality according to the star...if Bob and Harvey Weinstein can just be convinced to pony up the dough (See Trejo's message to the Weinsteins below, and then read about the film's status after the jump).
