One of my favorite "10 in '10" interviews this week is with "Clash of the Titans" director Louis Leterrier. I've enjoyed every bit of the movie that's been revealed so far, and can't wait until it hits theaters on March 26. I usually tend to be wary of remakes, but this one looks like pure blockbuster to me. Bring it on.
In his "10 in '10" interview, Leterrier enlightened on the status of "Clash," where the production is at in these final weeks before release, what his expectations are and how he feels now that the bulk of the work is done. What the interview doesn't get into is Leterrier's take on "Clash" as a possible franchise. He had some things to say on that count however, and I'm pleased to share those words with you here on MTV Movies Blog. Read more...
"Clash of the Titans" director Louis Leterrier was an easy choice for this week's "10 in '10" interview series. "Clash" has all the makings of a blockbuster with enough drawing power to kick off the spring/summer season early when it hits theaters on March 26 of this year. As a special treat, and complement to our "10 in '10" interview with Leterrier, we've got a pair of exclusive behind the scenes photos from the set of "Clash." UPDATE: We checked with Warner for confirmation. Here's what they had to say: "Heat Vision's report regarding the 'Clash' in 3-D is true. It may or may not be [released] in 3-D. At this point I don't know that we'll know in the next 10 days."
Sam Worthington is already the leading man behind the most successful 3-D film of all time in "Avatar," which may well turn into the most successful movie of all time, period. Is he going to go for a repeat performance in the world of 3-D with "Clash of the Titans," the upcoming mythology epic? That depends upon who you believe.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is in the midst of deciding whether or not to release "Clash of the Titans" in 3-D. The studio has reportedly ordered a 3-D test of the film and will show off the converted scenes next week in an effort to determine whether or not "Clash" should see a 3-D release. The final decision is expected to come in the next 10 days, which is certainly down to the wire given the film's March 26, 2010 release date. Read more...
"Clash of the Titans" hits theaters on March 26, 2010. It will be director Louis Leterrier's follow-up to the 2008 Marvel Comics flick "The Incredible Hulk" and only his fourth feature as a director ("Transporter 2" and the Jet Li-starring "Unleashed" being the other two). Leterrier has honed his craft quite a bit through the years, and all signs suggest that "Clash" will be his biggest and best effort yet.
That said, there are still a few burning questions that fans want some answers on. The massive success of "Avatar," which also stars "Clash" lead Sam Worthington, has left many people wondering if the movie will be in 3-D. In fact, Worthington even mentioned the possibility of a 3-D release in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times. There's also news that emerged earlier this week that British rock group Muse had been asked to score the movie. It's something they were interested in doing, frontman Matt Bellamy said in an interview with the Daily Star.
In an interview with MTV News earlier today (part of a longer upcoming feature we'll be posting on Louis' big year) Leterrier set the record straight at last on the 3-D and soundtrack rumors. Read more...
Many of us woke up this morning to the sight of an exciting new trailer, for Louis Leterrier's remake of "Clash of the Titans." Other than a footage-lite set visit, we really haven't seen anything from the actual movie until now. And it's looking pretty sweet, as you saw in the trailer this morning. This latest edition of Freeze Frame doesn't make it look any sweeter, but it does get a whole lot funnier. Enjoy.
While there isn't any actual footage from the upcoming remake of "Clash of the Titans" out there, I've got the next best thing for you. On last week's episode of "Behind the Screen," we paid a visit to the set of the Sam Worthington-starring film, which is currently shooting in Wales.
In the video below you can check out interviews with Worthingon, Mads Mikkelson, Nicholas Hoult and Liam Cunningham as well as raw footage from the shoot. So not quite the polished clip you might want to see, but good stuff nonetheless.

Louis Leterrier’s got more than the next Hulk or “1602” on his mind – he’s also just started prepping a remake of “Clash of the Titans,” according to his character designer Aaron Sims.
“We worked together on the ‘Hulk’ to make something visually interesting,” Sims said, “and I had started designs with a previous director for ‘Clash of the Titans,’ but he went away, and now Louis is on board to direct. So he called me up, ‘Hey, let’s work together,’ and I said, ‘Definitely!’”
Sims is starting to conceptualize the Medusa and the Kraken monster designs, and it’s more challenging than you might think. (And it’s one that “Hercules” is avoiding).
“There’s a whole mythology to all of this,” he said. “So what do you create that’s not just something we’ve all seen before? Everything, from Pegasus to the Titans, what have we not seen yet that’s going to be really epic-looking and still speaks to Greek mythology?” Read more...

If you're one of the millions of fans who saw "The Incredible Hulk" this past weekend, you know all about the ingenious seeding accomplished by director Louis Leterrier and writer Zak Penn, who set-up not one, not two, but three future "Hulk" villains: Doc Samson, The Leader, and (spoiler alert) The Abomination, who the Hulk doesn't kill at the end of the first film.
Last week we told you who the cast and crew themselves would choose for a possible "Hulk 2."
What we didn't tell you was that it was actually up to you. Read more...
