Percy JacksonCalling all "Percy Jackson" fans: if you were worried that his big screen adventures would end with "The Lightning Thief," start getting excited -- it looks like our hero is swimming towards a sea of monsters very soon.

The Los Angeles Times has learned that Fox 2000 is planning a follow-up to "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief." The first film was a modest hit that did a bit better overseas than it did in the States, but the Times is saying Fox is banking on the book series' massive fanbase in creating the next adaptation.

According to the report, the plan is to get production underway by the summer, with leading cast members like Logan Lerman returning to the series. That being said, the film is in very early stages and doesn't even have a director attached (Chris Columbus isn't expected to return), but the film could be a good way to fill the void post-"Harry Potter" and "Twilight."

Two adaptations of Alexandre Dumas' 17th-century adventure tale "The Three Musketeers" are racing toward the big screen, but only one will be presented in 3-D. And as MTV News has learned, that version — directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, Logan Lerman, Orlando Bloom and Christoph Waltz — will not only be shot in three dimensions but will utilize the camera technology pioneered by James Cameron for "Avatar."

"Shooting in 3-D. We're not converting," star Lerman told us last week during the run up to the MTV Movie Awards. "We're really going to be popping out at you.... We're using the Jim Cameron technology and all that. It's going to be nuts. It's going to look really cool. And trust me, from everything I've seen, it's going to blow people away." Read More...

Today has been such a busy and exciting day! We started early, and I first went over to the MTV News production offices, where I was introduced to the news team and some of the people I will be working with. After that I was whisked away to hair and makeup, I got ready to do my first real interview! I had never gotten my makeup done to that degree before, and I felt so pretty and glamorous!

Then traveled to the Arc Light Theater in Hollywood where I conducted my first interview, which was with Logan Lerman, the star of "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief." Read More...

The stars of "Harry Potter" and "Percy Jackson" may soon share the screen. Emma Watson and Logan Lerman are in talks to star in an indie drama adaptation of "Perks of Being a Wallflower." The book's author, Stephen Chbosky, wrote the script and will direct himself. If cast, this would mark the first live-action feature outside the "Potter" universe for Watson, who leads the cast as know-it-all-wizard Hermione Granger. Lerman, who was rumored to be in the running to star in the coming "Spider-Man" reboot, was recently cast as d'Artagnan in Paul WS Anderson's treatment of "The Three Musketeers." FROM SPLASH PAGE: "Percy Jackson & The Olympians" didn't quite wield the power of the gods when it arrived in theaters this weekend and came in second at the box office to "Valentine's Day," so what does that mean for its star, Logan Lerman, and rumors that he's up for the lead role in Marc Webb's "Spider-Man"?

As regular readers are already aware, Lerman set the 'Net on fire recently when he mentioned in passing that he was in talks to play Peter Parker. Even though Lerman backed off that statement a bit in a subsequent interview with MTV News, we pondered exactly what might be at stake when Lerman makes his debut in "Percy Jackson" — and now it's time to figure out whether playing a god means he'll be playing a superhero.

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Let the record show that "Spider-Man" is one franchise that you should never count out, even when the odds are stacked against it. After pulling the plug on "Spider-Man 4" and dropping director Sam Raimi and star Tobey Maguire, Sony Pictures quickly recruited a new director and set a new 3-D release date for the film.

While things are clearly getting back on track for the Marvel property, fans are still in the dark on the identity of the next Peter Parker. Earlier this month, "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief" star Logan Lerman was said to be "in talks" to star as Spider-Man, but the actor has since clarified the news as a misunderstanding.

But even if he isn't the definitive frontrunner, should we discount Lerman from the casting pool? Definitely not – not until we've seen "Percy Jackson," at least.

Uma ThurmanChris Columbus may have left the "Harry Potter" series far behind, but he's clearly still hungry for a sprawling fantasy franchise. He's set to start filming "Percy Jackson", a big screen adaptation of Rick Riordan's "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series, and while he's lined up Logan Lerman to play the title role, he needs some Olympians.

The chance to play a god has attracted some appealing names, because Variety , reports that Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, and Sean Bean have joined the cast as Greek gods. Read More...
