"The Twilight Saga" might be ending soon, but Kristen Stewart's story is only just beginning. The 22-year-old has just landed a major leading role in "Crazy Heart" director Scott Cooper's upcoming indie "Lie Down In Darkness."
Vulture broke the news, saying that Stewart will play the role of Peyton Loftis. The film is based off William Styron's 1951 novel of the same name that tells the story of the dysfunctional Loftis family set in Virginia in the 1950s.
This isn't the only indie Stewart has starred in that's set in the '50s. She also has Walter Salles' adaptation of "On the Road," which is due out in theaters at some point later this year. Now that her commitment to "The Twilight Saga" is up it's clear that she's reveling in her return to indies.
