LeVar BurtonHalloween is the time for the giving of candy, the getting of candy, the stashing away of candy to be nibbled before bed and upon rising. Or, as some might suggest, Halloween is the time for the buying of shots, the guzzling of shots, the... oh, you get the point.

However you plan to celebrate this most devilish of holidays, MTV News has got an early treat as you prep your costumes and stock up on Pepto, because we've made one truly great discovery — a unifying pop culture theory: "Star Trek" and "Roots" star LeVar Burton is at the center of the horror universe.

Trust us, we didn't want to believe it either, but it's true: Every great horror villain is no less than six degrees of separation away from LeVar (in much the same that Kevin Bacon is connected to, um, everyone). Allow us to explain.

Let's say you start with Michael Myers of "Halloween" infamy, and then you pass right through Jamie Lee Curtis and Gwen Van Dam (who also appeared in "Star Trek: Generations"), well, then you run right into LeVar the "Trek" star. Or say you're face-to-face with Leatherface, you turn around, cut right past one-time "Texas Chainsaw" star Dennis Hopper and "Reach for Me"'s Seymour Cassel, and who do you run into? LeVar! Scary, right? Like, chills. Connect the dots for yourself and you won't be able hide from the truth: Chucky leads to Katherine Heigl, who leads to Ron Perlman, who leads to LeVar. Boom!

We don't know what else to say other than that we're entering a brave new world filled with a terrifying knowledge. Try to enjoy those mini-Snickers and Jägerbombs now... now that you know LeVar Burton is inextricably tied to every iconic horror villain ever created. Check out the handy chart below to see how LeVar is the glue that holds the horror-verse together. Read More...

Much of Twitter-Wood was focused on the "Glee" season finale last night, but one actor in particular was already looking ahead to Season 2. John Stamos says he couldn't be happier to be joining the show's cast in 2011, and his former "Full House" co-star Candace Cameron Bure tweeted him that she wouldn't mind stopping by to visit.

TV attention tonight is likely to switch away from singers and back onto the jocks, however, since the Chicago Blackhawks could potentially secure a Stanley Cup victory. Diablo Cody will be watching if her choice of maternity clothing is any indication. Check out who she's supporting below along with Duncan Jones' World Cup loyalties and the official length of "Toy Story 3."

The weather looked great in California over the weekend from where Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Anne Hathaway were standing. The "Kick-Ass" star caught a screening of his new film at the Playboy mansion, she made a trip to Coachella, and both ended up on Twitter in pictures to document their activities.

Elsewhere, the weather was not kind to Jon Favreau, or at least the ash cloud over Europe caused by a volcano in Iceland was not. He had to scrap some plans to visit the U.K. thanks so flight cancellations. Check out what he said, why a lost iPhone made LeVar Burton feel better and how Fred Durst likes to dress when he plays golf. It's all on the record in Twitter-Wood for April 19th, 2010. A minor Twit-pocalypse broke out yesterday when LeVar Burton accidentally posted his phone number to his account. It sounds like he had to get his number changed thanks to all of the incoming calls, but luckily for him, his old "Star Trek: The Next Generation" co-stars Wil Wheaton and Brent Spiner were around to lend moral support.

Judging from the Twitter-Wood feed, everyone who wasn't calling LeVar was at the Hollywood Bowl to see Paul McCartney, and a few posted pictures from the event. Click on past the jump and you can see who was there, as well as what Damon Lindelof thought about "Lost" this week, what Tom Hanks looks like during location scouting and what Richard Kelly thinks of the iPad. It's all in Twitter-Wood for March 31st, 2010. Read More...

Olympic ice hockey had Canadians and American alike tweeting last night, and Canadian Twitter-Wood ambassador William Shatner was among them. The epic win by the U.S., as well as a few other spectacular matches from the day showed up in posts, including a short conversation between Jim Carrey and Michael Chiklis, and it turns out Carrey is a big admirer of Russia's Alex Ovechkin.

There's been drama off the ice in Vancouver as well, though, as the son of Shatner's former "Star Trek" co-star Walter Koenig has been declared missing there. LeVar Burton and Wil Wheaton both tweeted some links to help get the word out about Andrew Koenig, who hasn't been heard from since February 14th. Find out out more about Koenig, as well as what "Moon" director Duncan Jones is moving on to now and what kind of pet Jessica Simpson is thinking about adopting. All such information is retweeted below in Twitter-Wood for February 22nd, 2010. Read More...

Team Jacob takes on an entirely different meaning if you happen to be a "Lost" follower. One "Twilight" actress has been evaluating whether or not she wants to cross over, though. She wasn't wasn't alone, as Twitter-Wood made their allegiances and alternative lack of interests known last night.

In other tweets, Snooki from "Jersey Shore" popped up again today after posting a slew of TweetPhotos from an MTV event last night. She's evidently made a new friend in Brody Stevens of "The Hangover." Those posts, in addition to director Kyle Newman's thoughts on re-told superhero origins in movies, Rip Torn and Nathan Fillion's dream from last night will all appear for you after the jump in Twitter-Wood for February 3, 2010. Today's Twitter-Wood came under duress, as TwitPic.com was down for a while, and I wasn't sure where the Twitter Pic of the Day was going to come from. Luckily, everything worked out and I didn't have to make a blind decision. That means I've fully vetted today's shot of John Travolta at the opening for "From Paris With Love," Jason Reitman's view of Oprah's birthday celebration and Jackie Earle Haley's photo opp at Golden Ear Park.

The feed also brought a status update from Kevin Smith on his film "Hit Somebody," which is based on one of my all-time favorite Warren Zevon songs, a few more thoughts on J.D. Salinger's passing and a pre-date dilemma from Diablo Cody. Check it all out and find out who was backstage at the Grammy Awards yesterday in Twitter-Wood for January 29, 2010. Read More...

As you all know quite well, "Avatar" hit theaters this weekend. And while celebrities have ways of finagling themselves tickets to official premieres -- I think there's a secret handshake or something -- plenty of them turned out to "slum it" with their adoring public for public screenings of the movie. Or at least, that's what it seems like based on the influx of tweets on our Twitter-Wood feed.

The tone has been mostly positive on the Hollywood insider front. Hell, last week superstar actor Ben Stiller appeared on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" with only one thing in mind: pimping James Cameron's sci-fi epic! "Oh, I'm here to talk about 'Avatar.'" he said. "I'm really excited about it, Conan. It's gonna be... it's just going to be an amazing movie." Hit the jump for more from celebs on "Avatar," fresh from the Twitter-Wood feed. Read More...

It's been a long week for everyone in Twitter-Wood, especially for those involved with "New Moon." Someone at Mattel managed to sculpt out the abs on a Jacob Barbie doll in time for the film's release next week, though, and there's a pic in the feed today to prove it. Writer Brian Lynch, meanwhile, tweeted that the "Twilight" frenzy has stirred up cases of mistaken identity for him and prompted numerous friends to ask him how often he gets mistaken for the actor.

Jason Reitman seemed to have been hardest hit by the work week, though, seemingly passing out on his set. Check out that shot, along with with a "Star Trek" actor's brush with Neil Armstrong, Ice-T's run-in with Marilyn Manson and Fred Durst's plans for his "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" night-vision googles. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 13, 2009. Read More...
