Sean Bean is having one heck of a week. As if his breathtaking turn in the latest episode of "Game of Thrones" wasn't enough for the guy, Bean was also reportedly stabbed in the arm during a bar altercation earlier in the week. But don't sob for the erstwhile Lord of Winterfell; good old Ned quickly shrugged off the attack, went back inside the bar and ordered himself a pint. Bean's handling of the situation is getting plenty of virtual high fives in today's edition of Twitter-Wood.
There's more news lurking about the online movie space today, of course: iconic newsman Larry King has put out the call for "Harry Potter" questions for an upcoming CNN special, while Judd Apatow gives an update on the status of his next movie.
I'm @roundhoward and this is Twitter-Wood for June 14, 2011.

Many people were thankful for Conan O'Brien's return to late-night television Monday night via TBS, but not nearly enough viewers appreciated the event first and foremost for the great Larry King TwitPic post that it made possible. King was one of a few outstanding image-sharers earning spots on our highlight reel today. Others receiving the honor include Andy Milonakis with Snoop Dogg, and a shot that may make you wish you were drinking with Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Florence and the Machine yesterday.
Their enthusiasm was nearly matched by Michelle Rodriguez, who joined Ice-T in committing to acquiring "Call of Duty: Black Ops" (she came close enough to identifying its rightful name). Unfortunately, Chloe Moretz won't be able to play it, but if she were older it would be on her to-do list. Check out those tweets, plus Darren Bousman getting sentimental about his "Saw" experiences, down below.

Larry King announced this week that he'll be retiring from his post at CNN. For 25 years, King has served as the host of "Larry King Live," making up roughly half of a career as a radio and television host that spans more than 50 years. He's now chosen to pack it in gracefully, and we here at MTV applaud the superlative work he's done over the years.
Sure, King probably wants to just chill and enjoy his retirement by sticking close with his family. But he's been planning this change for awhile, and he's leaving the game in style. King is all set to appear in a range of upcoming movies, as these beautifully Photoshop'd posters (big ups to MTV producer Sohyung Kang!) illustrate. Jon Favreau confirmed earlier this year that he included the revered Hollywood sound sample "The Wilhelm Scream" in "Iron Man 2," but last night on Twitter, he stopped short of revealing where it ended up. I'm going to to see it tonight and see if I can figure it out. In the meantime, give it a listen, and report back here if you can identify the scene.
In other tweets, Lloyd Kaufman weighed in on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. He also expressed disgust on the part of the Toxic Avenger. Rachelle Lefevre is helping Oprah out this weekend, and Alison Brie posted a pic from her "Community" rehearsal. You can give that a look after the jump along with Larry King's photo op with Betty White. It's all Twitter-Wood for May 7, 2010. Read more...

Last night's "Lost" episode "Ab Aeterno" offered an extra helping of Nestor Carbonell action, and Rainn Wilson enjoyed the extra spotlight on Carbonell's character Richard Alpert. Matthew Perry, meanwhile, seemed more confused than anything and was more consumed by the night's look at Jacob.
And speaking of things to be confused about, Larry King showed up in a car with Snoop Dogg today, but the scene he shared on his Twitter feed is more than worth your time. Check out two retweeted shots after jump. There, you will find out where Emma Roberts is filming, some thoughts on Vice President Joseph Biden's f-bomb slip-up and who got to meet Justin Bieber last night. All of that info shows up in the Twitter-Wood round-up for March 24th, 2010. Read more...

I'm not gonna lie. Today's Daily TwitPic is awesome. We've had some good ones in the months since this column started, but today's may very well be one of my favorites.
For starters, it's all about Larry King. The veteran newsman may come off as a real old-guard reporter, but he's actually very hip and in touch with today's culture. Even if you don't watch "Larry King Live," all you really need to know is that he has an active, fun-filled Twitter life. Dude's finger is on the pulse, folks.
He's also without fear. King doesn't mind being the butt of a joke, or making himself look ridiculous in the public eye. He doesn't come off as someone who's after all the attention either; to a casual observer, it really just looks as though the guy likes to have fun. And that's the spirit of today's twitpic, which shows us what King would look like if the RDA grew a Na'vi avatar body for him. Read more...

At least one of Taylor Lautner's "New Moon" co-stars doesn't sound too impressed with the actor's new project "Valentine's Day," despite the fact that the film has more headline-worthy casting choices than a Robert Altman movie. (That's a joke because "A Prairie Home Companion" and "Short Cuts" both had big casts, too.)
Elsewhere, talk of a "Watchmen" sequel kicked up a few tweets, though the vocal ones haven't been too receptive thus far. Find out what a few guys in the know about comics films had to say after the jump where you'll also see some birthday wishes to zombie film legend George Romero, get a look at what Jim Henson-decorated piping at Jimmy Fallon's studio looks like and find out who tweets naked. It's all in Twitter-Wood for February 4, 2010. Read more...

Larry King has been in the TV game for a long time. He started his career as a journalist on the radio, but he joined the CNN team in 1985 as the host of the nightly interview show "Larry King Live." The fact is, he was reporting the news when television was still a new technology, and he's watched the medium grow both as an outsider and an insider. King knows the business.
He's also a savvy social networker, connecting with his fans via regular -- and often entertainingly odd -- Twitter updates. In a twitpic he posted yesterday, selected as today's Daily TwitPic, the veteran newsman showed where his allegiances lie in the ongoing late-night struggle between Conan O'Brien, Jay Leno and the top-level suits at NBC. And most importantly, he did it in style. Hit the jump to see who gets Larry King's vote for late-night champ. Read more...

An earthquake in Haiti that reportedly topped 7.0 on the Richter scale shocked everyone on and off Twitter, with many linking to donation sites and posting hopeful thoughts. Rainn Wilson pondered a personal connection to those he visited recently.
In the U.S., Team Conan has been amassing supporters this week after the "Tonight Show" announced he wouldn't accept a move to the 12:05 slot to accommodate Jay Leno for NBC. Larry King and Dax Shepard both sided with a third party, though, in the Conan vs. Leno debate. Check out those posts below along with postmortem micro-review of last night's "American Idol," Kat Dennings on "Thor" and Emmy Rossum's surprise encounter in Whole Foods. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for January 13, 2010. Read more...

If you read Twitter-Wood for the pictures, you picked a good day to stop by, because I've got a veritable Twitter slideshow set up for you today, starting with a Woody Allen jazz performance and including but not limited to Emmy Rossum in a turkey hat and Shakira hobnobbing with Larry King.
You may or may not have known that "Pulp Fiction" writer Roger Avary was currently serving time at Ventura County Jail in California. His tweets from inside recently came to my attention, such today's where he introduces a new neighbor. Check those posts out after the jump along with Richard Kelly's question about "Avatar," Dane Cook's problem with Adam Lambert and Michael Showalter's feelings about "Bad Lieutenant." It's all in the Twitter Report for November 24, 2009. Read more...
