Super 8Although "Super 8" hits theaters nationwide tomorrow (or, really, today), several lucky people in Hollywood have already seen director J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg's long-awaited collaboration.

The movie had its grand premiere in Los Angeles last evening, drawing the likes of "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof, "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau and more — and based on their responses on Twitter, the reaction was overwhelmingly positive.

I'm @roundhoward and this is a special "Super 8" edition of Twitter-Wood for June 9, 2011.

Arnold SchwarzeneggerShocking news from Arnold Schwarzenegger's camp today, as the former governor revealed that he fathered a child over a decade ago with a member of his household staff, a revelation that led to his separation from Maria Shriver. The confession has prompted a wide range of reactions and ridicule from celebrities in the Twitter-Wood space, as you might expect.

In other news, many are buzzing about the just-released teaser for Steven Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin," while one actor/rapper has strong words for Bill O'Reilly after his debate with Jon Stewart over Common's invitation to visit the White House.

I'm @roundhoward and this is Twitter-Wood for May 17, 2011.

Donald TrumpStop the presses — turns out that "Celebrity Apprentice" host Donald Trump isn't running for president after all. The news was announced during the NBC up front presentation today, prompting a flurry of reactions from the celebrity-driven space of Twitter-Wood.

In unrelated news, "Bridesmaids" was a hit at the box office this weekend, crushing any doubts that Kristen Wiig's latest comedy couldn't achieve commercial success. It's a critical darling, too, with glowing reviews pouring in from all across the blogosphere.

I'm @roundhoward and this is Twitter-Wood for May 16, 2011.

Leslie NielsenLeslie Nielsen's death prompted a full day's worth of reactions in Twitter-Wood today, both from fans respectful enough not to call him "Shirley" and those who thought he would prefer to be remembered by that name. Dane Cook dedicated a show to him, while Brian Posehn shared his favorite Nielsen anecdote, and Olivia Wilde just plain misses him.

The "Star Wars" community experienced a loss as well, though, with the passing of "Empire Strikes Back" director Irvin Kershner. John Hodgman, Brian Lynch and Kyle Newman all contributed perspectives on their accounts, and Nathan Fillion shared some Christmas tree ornaments that Kershner might have appreciated.

It's nice to see that Joseph Gordon-Levitt has a sense of humor about the way people are reacting to "Inception" — not that its weekend on top at the box office should have him being defensive. The movie got a largely positive, if occasionally confused reception on Twitter in the meantime. You can check out what Shannon Elizabeth, Emma Caulfield and Ice-T thought down below.

Elsewhere, Selena Gomez had a great birthday, in case you were wondering. You can find out why, along with what Jaime King might look like as Aurra Sing in "Star Wars: A New Hope," a relationship between BP and Mel Gibson as imagined by Kevin Nealon, and which "Cowboys and Aliens" scene Jon Favreau has been getting ready to shoot after the jump.

With all the talk of cancelled TV shows like "The Sarah Silverman Program" and "Law and Order" in Twitter-Wood lately, it's refreshing to see talk about someone's show getting picked up. Today, the big winner happened to be Jaime King. She got the Twitter equivalent of a high five from James Gunn about "My Generation," which ABC picked up.

Some "Twilight" actresses logged in as well in the last 24 hours. It turns out that Rachelle Lefevre loves "Glee," but she doesn't think she can carry a tune. Nevertheless, she laid out how she thinks the "Glee" producers can work around that. Scope out her proposal after the jump along with Kyle Newman's micro-review of "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," Michael Ian Black's affection for oil and Simon Pegg's harsh words for Facebook. It's all been logged publicly in Twitter-Wood for May 18, 2010. Read More...

Team Jacob takes on an entirely different meaning if you happen to be a "Lost" follower. One "Twilight" actress has been evaluating whether or not she wants to cross over, though. She wasn't wasn't alone, as Twitter-Wood made their allegiances and alternative lack of interests known last night.

In other tweets, Snooki from "Jersey Shore" popped up again today after posting a slew of TweetPhotos from an MTV event last night. She's evidently made a new friend in Brody Stevens of "The Hangover." Those posts, in addition to director Kyle Newman's thoughts on re-told superhero origins in movies, Rip Torn and Nathan Fillion's dream from last night will all appear for you after the jump in Twitter-Wood for February 3, 2010. As you all know quite well, "Avatar" hit theaters this weekend. And while celebrities have ways of finagling themselves tickets to official premieres -- I think there's a secret handshake or something -- plenty of them turned out to "slum it" with their adoring public for public screenings of the movie. Or at least, that's what it seems like based on the influx of tweets on our Twitter-Wood feed.

The tone has been mostly positive on the Hollywood insider front. Hell, last week superstar actor Ben Stiller appeared on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" with only one thing in mind: pimping James Cameron's sci-fi epic! "Oh, I'm here to talk about 'Avatar.'" he said. "I'm really excited about it, Conan. It's gonna be... it's just going to be an amazing movie." Hit the jump for more from celebs on "Avatar," fresh from the Twitter-Wood feed. Read More...

For those of you following the Edi Gathegi and Christian Serratos' exchanges of the last few days, there are two more to share today, including a photo proving that the two "New Moon" performers were able to connect. Gathegi may have even had to naked for the occasion, according to Serratos' account, but don't worry. The picture is totally SFW.

Tom Hanks stepped into the recording studio for "Toy Story 3," meanwhile, and the film's diligent director Lee Unkrich documented their their session. Check out all of those posts after the jump where you'll also find Simon Pegg's beef with Jar Jar Binks, Kat Dennings' new rule about seal impression etiquette and what Brian Lynch wants to see happen with the fourth "Twilight" movie. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 10, 2009. Read More...

Professional wrestling fans of Twitter-Wood turned out today with good vibes for former WWE star Umaga, who was reported to be in serious condition for unknown reasons at a Houston hospital today. Jeff Katz was among them, and I echo his sentiments.

Elsewhere in the Twitterverse, Edgar Wright finished up his director's cut of "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World." Jason Reitman thanked him for not competing with "Up in the Air," and writer Bryan Lee O'Malley congratulated him on the milestone. Director Kyle Newman was somewhat less congratulatory, meanwhile, in his tweet-outs to England looking ahead to the World Cup. Check out those tweets after the jump along with Kat Dennings' nevernude diagnosis of the "New Moon" werewolves, an "Eclipse" actor hanging out with David Caruso and much more in the Twitter-Wood report for December 4, 2009.
