After the release of an impressive first trailer, expectations for "Snow White and the Huntsman" shot sky high. All of the sudden, a film that people knew almost nothing about aside from its star-studded cast led by Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, became one of the most anticipated movies of 2012.

But the question lingers for many fans: can Kristen Stewart carry a film that isn't "Twilight"? She didn't speak a word in the trailer, which depended largely on a perfectly evil Charlize Theron to sell the film, and potential Twi-hard backlash could sink "SWATH" before it even hits theaters.

One of Snow White's trusted dwarves, Nick Frost, assured MTV News that Stewart does more than enough to prove herself.

FROM MTV MOVIES: Ever since the trailer arrived for Kristen Stewart's next likely blockbuster, "Snow White and the Huntsman" -- a.k.a. her first big post-"Twilight" movie -- we've been chomping at the bit for more info about the film.

Luckily, MTV News had a fun-filled chat recently with Stewart's "Huntsman" co-star Charlize Theron, during which the South African-born beauty revealed that she and Stewart are about to shoot the film's climactic battle sequence.

"I'm still shooting ['Huntsman'], I'm going back in two days," Theron told us as she promoted the comedy "Young Adult." "I haven't really worked with [Kristen]. I've done some small things with her, but we're about to shoot our big showdown, and fingers crossed for me. It's the big battle. I'm just really, really, really hoping I get to kill her," she said with a smile. "That is how the story ends up, right?"

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Mirror, mirror on the wall, which "Snow White" movie is the greatest of them all? It's still too soon to answer that question, perhaps, but "Snow White and the Huntsman" certainly has the advantage right now thanks to its newly released trailer!

The first official "Snow White and the Huntsman" trailer arrived online today courtesy of Apple, gifting fans with their best look yet at what director Rupert Sanders has in store for his fairy tale starring "Twilight" sensation Kristen Stewart, "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth and "Monster" Oscar winner Charlize Theron. Needless to say, that "Lord of the Rings" vibe that was promised is most certainly on display here.

Snow White and the Huntsman

If the "Snow White and the Huntsman" banner that was released earlier today was meant to make us amped for the teaser trailer being released tomorrow, then it definitely did a good job. The Rupert Sanders-directed action adventure film has plenty of exciting things going for it -- Kristen Stewart in a suit of armor, for one -- yet there has only been a small amount of low-key promotion going for it so far.

Sure, the film is still more than six months away from hitting theaters, but the movie is likely to be boosted to popularity thanks to the fact its trailer will probably be tacked on before every showing of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1," which comes out next Friday.

The banner got us thinking about all the aspects of "Snow White and the Huntsman" we're most looking forward to, and that we hope we will see teased in tomorrow's trailer. Read on after the jump to see what you have to look forward to (hopefully) in the teaser's release.

Snow White and the Huntsman

Based on this new art for "Snow White and the Huntsman," it looks like this flick might really be the fairest of them all.

The Kristen Stewart-led flick shows off its fantasy colors in a new banner teasing the upcoming trailer, which is hitting the web tomorrow. Sure, it's photoshopped to all hell, but the banner shows off a very "Lord of the Rings"-esque visual style, just like director Rupert Sanders promised. So what if we can only see half of all the actors' faces? Like Sanders could just give everything away all at once.

But there are plenty of nods to what fans can expect in this expansive banner for "Snow White and the Huntsman." That sword in Stewart's hand is proving that her Snow White is no Bella Swan, for sure.

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are all household names, but they weren't always that way. A little tiny something called "Twilight" changed the game for each of them, elevating them from promising young actors to full-fledged movie stars. Whether you're pinning it on Kristen's allure, Rob's mystique or Taylor's infamous abs, there's no doubt that there's a unique chemistry to the core "Twilight" trio that is absolutely essential to making these films work. And, according to the three of them, the chemistry between them came very quickly.

"I think [our chemistry] was very immediate," Lautner told us during "MTV First: 'Breaking Dawn – Part 1,'" our exclusive 30-minute chat with the "Twilight" cast last night (November 3). "Amongst everyone, it was just a warm and fuzzy feeling."

"Breaking Dawn" won't fully finish the "Twilight" saga until part two arrives in theaters next fall. But even before Kristen Stewart puts Bella Swan behind her, she'll be stepping into another iconic character's shoes — or armor, as it were.

Stewart is the star of "Snow White and the Huntsman," director Rupert Sanders' take on the classic fairy tale about the fairest maiden of them all. But don't call this Snow White a maiden — in Sanders' vision, Stewart's Snow is a sword-wielding, armor-clad warrior training under the tutelage of the titular huntsman, played by "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth. Those involved with "Huntsman" have already drawn comparisons to "Lord of the Rings," and it's not just because of their similarities in style… if all goes well, "Snow White" could launch a brand new franchise for Stewart.

But having already participated in five "Twilight" films, some of the most hotly watched movies in recent memory, is Stewart really ready for another franchise? We put that question to the star during "MTV First: 'Breaking Dawn – Part 1'" — our exclusive sit-down with "Twilight" stars Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner — and she explained why she's more than happy to continue on with the "Snow White" brand.
