"Ocean's Eleven" (and beyond) director Steven Soderbergh is busy these days with "Knockout," an action/thriller starring mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano... along with a whole mess of other people. Seriously, with a cast that includes Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Michael Angarano, Channing Tatum and Michael Douglas, "Knockout" is starting to look a lot like one of those "Ocean's" movies. Especially now that two more have entered the fray.

Antonio Banderas and Bill Paxton are now on board, Variety reports. The Playlist further reveals that Paxton arrives to replace Dennis Quaid and that "Gothika" director Mathieu Kassovitz has joined "in an undisclosed role." Read More...

DESCThe impressive ensemble cast for "Knockout," Steven Soderbergh's upcoming action spy thriller starring mixed martial arts expert Gina Carano, has just added two more names to the mix.

According to The Playlist, "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" star Channing Tatum has joined the cast of "Knockout," while Antonio Banderas is currently in talks to participate in the film.

Tatum has a role that is "relatively small in the scope of things," playing a member of the special ops squadron that Mallory Kane — the lead character played by Carano — belongs to. Tatum's character Aaron is tasked with tracking Kane down after she's double-crossed and set up for a murder.

Banderas, meanwhile, is in discussions to play the head of a European black-ops unit. Read More...

Just because Steven Soderbergh isn't able to push on with "Moneyball," it doesn't mean that the "Che" director won't look towards sports for his next feature film -- in fact, he's got his eye on the world of mixed martial arts.

According to Variety, Soderbergh will direct MMA fighter Gina Carano in "Knockout," a spy thriller fully financed by Relativity Media with a script from "The Limey" screenwriter Lem Dobbs. The movie marks Carano's on-screen debut as a leading lady, but the plot won't focus on the fighter-turned-actress's day job -- as it turns out, "Knockout" has a lot more in common with Jason Bourne than Chuck Liddell.
