Seven days in L.A., about 15 hits and one
MTV Movie Awards preshow under my belt. I can say for certain that this was one of the most exciting weeks — and, of course, learning experiences — of my life.
The 21 minutes I spent on the gold carpet — finding celebs, pulling them aside from the ever-present paparazzi and fitting as much into 30-second or one-minute interviews as possible — were absolutely insane. My imagination fell short of the hectic, on-the-go, extremely exhilarating sensation that was my first live preshow. Two of the highlights of the night were certainly being thrown Will Smith, Charlize Theron, and Anne Hathaway at the same time, and interviewing beautiful and talented superstar Sarah Jessica Parker.

She was once almost "America's Next Top Model," but now MTV News correspondent Kim Stolz is working hard to ready the gold carpet for tomorrow's show. Literally! Check out the video and pics below for proof.

Our guest blogger Laura Culpepper will be covering the highlights from now through the big show on Sunday, so check in daily as she live-blogs her Movie Awards experience!
Hey everyone! Yesterday was crazy, but I've rested up now and I'm getting ready for the big awards tomorrow. There were two screenings yesterday: "Kung Fu Panda" starring Jack Black and "Pineapple Express" starring Seth Rogen and James Franco.
First stop was to Paramount for the "Kung Fu Panda" screening. I'm usually not a big fan of animation, but this one was surprisingly good! There were some pretty awesome action scenes, and Jack Black did a great job of giving Po, the main character, a voice. The Q&A after was great, and we even got to see Jack show off some Kung Fu moves of his own.

MTV News' Kim Stolz also interviewed Jack, dressed in a Panda costume, no less. Read more...

A few days ago, we asked you to check out the dresses shown above and help Kim Stolz pick a dress to wear on the gold carpet at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards. The votes (and comments) came in fast and furious (thanks, guys!), but in the end it was a dead heat between two dresses, so now it's time for a runoff election!

What happens when an "American's Next Top Model" contestant returns home again? One thing's for sure ... it ain't pretty. For proof, look no further than the video below where our correspondent Kim Stolz heads back to her past before getting totally restless in Los Angeles waiting for the MTV Movie Awards.
The MTV Movie Awards will air live on MTV on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, with MTV News' "Coming Attractions" preshow kicking the evening off at 7:30 p.m. ET! Meanwhile, stay tuned to the MTV Movies Blog and MovieAwards.MTV.com.
MTV News' Kim Stolz has already made a name for herself in the City That Never Sleeps. But now that she's in L.A. for this weekend's Movie Awards, she needed a few lessons on adapting to the Town of Hangin' Around.
"I need some advice," the newly brown-haired correspondent pleaded, hunting for stars at L.A.'s swank Le Montrose hotel. "What sort of things does a big star like yourself do all day?"
"You're looking at it," grinned diminutive funnyman Verne Troyer, lying in the sun poolside.
On Tuesday, Stolz and Troyer met up for an afternoon of living large with Hollywood's smallest star. The always-affable Troyer, who once again teams with his "Austin Powers" cohort Mike Myers for June 20th's "The Love Guru," took to Kim so quickly that Stolz might just have her very own Mini-She. On this Twilight Tuesday, I will become the latest MTV Newser to admit that I am absolutely, 100 percent, enthusiastically hooked on the "Twilight" series. A few months ago, I realized that I kept hearing the word "Twilight" around the office. So, I decided to find out where all of this buzz was coming from.
I had no idea what I was in for.
Cut to two weeks ago ... I am late for meeting because I'm sitting in the corner of the newsroom, reading the last few pages of "Twilight," the first (and hopefully most addictive, because otherwise I'm going to be late for a lot of meetings) installment in Stephanie Meyer's series. Cut to one week ago ... I'm even more hooked as I continue to read the rest of the books in the series. Read more...

Getting ready for the red carpet can be stressful! I'm sure we've all looked at tabloid magazines and Web Sites and taken part in making fun of a bad dress choice or fashion faux pas. So, when you're faced with the chance of being the object of one of these critiques, it can get a little scary. I unfortunately have once been on the worst-dressed list in People — I won't bore you with the details or a description of that fateful dress — the point is, however, that I want to make sure that I choose the right look for this exciting night.
We've gone through dress after dress after dress, and I think we've finally narrowed it down to five. I'm a fan of all five — the diversity of cut, color, style, length, fabric, and shape make it quite hard to choose just one. So, now I leave it to you guys. Vote here on which one you like the most...and vote wisely, because whichever one you choose is the one that I'll wear on Sunday.

The following post is from MTV News correspondent Kim Stolz who is gearing up to co-host the 2008 MTV Movie Awards pre-show.
In the past several years, my hair has been black, brown, auburn, red, and blonde. Whether it be for a shoot, a campaign, or my own desire for change, my look has undoubtedly gone through quite a few transformations. However, in the past year or so, I've been a blonde, thinking it would be at least another year before meeting up with the dye again.

The other day, however, in the hair and make-up room, I was told that my look might change drastically before the MTV Movie Awards on June 1st. Read more...
Kim Stolz spent her Friday interviewing the cast and director of "Sex & the City" (don't you judge us...we know you're secretly jealous, OK?) So sure, we talked to star Sarah Jessica Parker about the love, heartache, and fashion you'll find in the film. And SJP was so taken with Kim's youthful glow that she kept referring to her as a 13-year-old. Well, at the end of the interview, we couldn't resist showing her a little something that had come into our mailboxes earlier in the week.
