Five years ago this June, stay-at-home mother Stephenie Meyer had a dream about a teenage girl and a vampire sitting in a meadow; this week, the bestselling author walked among those very fantastical beings.
MTV News has learned that Meyer shot a cameo this week for the upcoming "Twilight" movie, due in theaters December 12th. The American writer, whose subject matter and own personal triumphs are often compared to "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling, shot the scene alongside several of the film's young stars, including Kellan Lutz as Emmett Cullen.
Several stars and crew members raved about Meyer's afternoon on the set, and described her cameo as Hitchcock-esque. The legendary "Psycho" director made a habit of dropping into many of his films for blink-and-you'll-miss-him cameos, often as an extra in crowd scenes. Read more...

Hollywood's take on Stephanie Meyer's bestselling book series "Twilight" has now rounded out some of its biggest casting...that of the Cullen family, the mainstay of the blockbuster vampire franchise. Peter Facinelli ("Six Feet Under"), Elizabeth Reaser ("Grey's Anatomy"), Jackson Rathbone ("The O.C."), Ashley Greene ("King of California") and Kellan Lutz ("Stick It"), alongside the previously revealed Nikki Reed and Robert Pattinson, have been confirmed by MTV News as the stars who will make up Forks' first family. In addition, the photo of the group in costume is the first image revealed from the film, which is currently shooting in the Portland, Oregon, area.
