Kellan Lutz

Moviegoers across the country stormed theaters this past weekend and sent the mythological blockbuster "Immortals" to the top of the box office, but only one lucky group of fans got a chance to see the film with Kellan Lutz, one of the stars of the film.

Fanny Rodriguez got just that when she won MTV's "Immortals" sweepstakes. As the winner of the sweepstakes, Rodriguez got to throw a hometown screening of "Immortals" in her native San Diego with all of her friends and family in the audience.

The crowd was treated to a special appearance by Lutz, who plays Poseidon in the Tarsem Singh-directed epic, and the new Rogue3D glasses that were created by Marchon3D for the film's release. The specs take a more fashion-minded approach to 3D glasses and look no different than a regular pair of Aviators.

"Immortals Mondays" continues today with an exclusive behind the scenes look at Poseidon, the trident-wielding god played by "Twilight" favorite Kellan Lutz.

Describing his character as "the favorite uncle," Lutz explained that the god of the sea has been commanded by his brother Zeus (Luke Evans) not to interfere with the matters of men. Poseidon has a hard time adhering to this order, of course, leading him to spearhead one of the most visually breathtaking moments in the entirety of Tarsem Singh's mythological epic. Take a glimpse in the video below.

In addition to the exclusive video, we also have details on an "Immortals" sweepstakes. The Gods need a Hometown Hero, and MTV is looking for one man or woman to assemble their troops for a private hometown screening of "Immortals." Click here to find out how to enter!

There was a time where the plot for Tarsem Singh's latest flick "Immortals" was under wraps, but that time is no more. The latest trailer for the stylized retelling of Greek mythology lays the story out clearly for the ill-informed.

No question that this is the longest "Immortals" teaser to date, clocking in at two and a half minutes in length. The narrator sets the stage for the battle between humans and the Greek gods: once there was a war in heaven, and the victors called themselves gods and named the losers as titans. Now evil King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) is trying to release the titans and defeat the gods, and it's up to mortal Theseus (Henry Cavill) to stop him.

"Deathgames." The title alone summons up awesome mental images, right? The title bubbled out of the trades last week as an upcoming project with "Twilight" star Kellan Lutz and "Iron Man 2" star Samuel L. Jackson in late-stage talks to headline. Intrigued by the premise -- Jackson kidnaps Lutz and forces him to fight in a modern-day gladiator arena -- I put in a call to Mike Callaghan, who is producing with Motion Picture Corporation of America, for additional details.

"Essentially the idea is, what if you had 'Gladiator' set in the present with modern-day technology," Callaghan explained. "You've got Sam Jackson essentially playing the Caesar who rules over an arena where people fight to the death. And Kellan plays our gladiator, who enters the film as someone that was kidnapped and rises through the ranks to become the head gladiator, the prized fighter."

That's the basic pitch. Things get mighty interesting however when you take a closer look at Jackson's character and how he stages these fights. Read More...

The Tribeca Film Festival is just days away now and New Yorkers are starting to prepare for their city's annual celebration of film. There are some big names this year, starting with "Shrek Forever After," the (supposed) final chapter in the series, which opens the fest this year.

Today I'm here to showcase "Meskada," a thriller from writer/director Josh Sternfeld starring Nick Stahl, Rachel Nichols and "Twilight" star Kellan Lutz. The story follows a small-town detective investigating the death of a young child, killed during a home robbery. Not that you get a sense of that here; what you do get a sense of is Lutz, shirtless. Enjoy, ladies.

"Twilight" vampire Kellan Lutz is trading in his fangs and bloodlust for a trident and (presumably) a big, bushy beard. And yes, I am aware that "Twilight" vampires do not actually have fangs. Just roll with it.

Lutz has been cast in the role of Poseidon, Greek god of the sea, in "War of the Gods," an upcoming swords and sandals blockbuster from "The Fall" and "The Cell" director Tarsem Singh. Lutz joins Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke and Freida Pinto in the growing cast, which is expected to assemble next month for the start of production. Read More...

While Kellan Lutz plays a scary creature in the "Twilight Saga" -- if you call a vegetarian vampire scary, that is -- it's his next role in the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" remake that has him really frightened. You see, it seems Lutz's connection to the flick and its bad guy, Freddy Krueger, runs all the way to his childhood.

"That was one of the movies that actually scared me growing up," Lutz told MTV News about the 1984 remake, due out on April 30. "My brothers were the biggest threat growing up with all the poundings, but Jason and Chucky weren’t too scary. I laughed at them. Clowns are funny to me." Read More...

FROM SPLASH PAGE: What is good in life? The idea that Marcus Nispel's upcoming "Conan" movie will name its lead barbarian any day now.

There's been no shortage of casting rumors surrounding the "Conan" reboot since it was first announced, and according to Deadline Hollywood, many of those rumors are close to being debunked (or possibly confirmed) as the studio narrows its choices for the title role. The site reports that the pool was down to two contenders as of last week — "Twilight" actor Kellan Lutz (pictured) and "Stargate: Atlantis" actor Jason Momoa — but now another, unnamed actor could be in the mix, too.

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: After months of filming in rain-drenched Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, "New Moon" stars Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz must have felt right at home in Manhattan as a persistent drizzle lingered over the city. But unlike shoots for their vampire romance, the onscreen duo stayed toasty and dry inside the Times Square Toys "R" Us greeting fans and signing autographs for the final leg of the "Twilight" mall tour.

About 500 lovely ladies and a few fellows (not a surprising ratio by now) waited for hours in a line that snaked around the block, with some like Julianne Castillo and Vanesa Rayes, both 18 from Jamaica, Queens, having been outside since before 6 a.m.

"We got up at four o'clock in the morning. We were outside by 5:30 in the morning," Julianne said. "We want to be the first ones on line. That's when all the excitement is there from the actors. We want to have the energy on that paper."
