MTV's After Hours has made a name for itself creating the highest quality late night entertainment around. But now, with the help of Ice T, the series could be making its big break into prime time programming.

Enter "Snowy River," which absolutely was definitely not shot on location at the Sundance Film Festival or anything like that (hint: okay maybe it was). Snowy River is a mysterious town with many terrifying murderers on the loose (you could get killed for playing peek-a-boo) and even more interesting inhabitants (just wait until you see the Inarticulate Twins). As the trailer teases, it will be a lot better than "NCIS"... we hope.

Kristen Stewart fans take note: there's another Jack Kerouac project in the works. Stewart and crew are taking the author's novel "On The Road" to the big screen, while Kate Bosworth and a less tween-friendly cast are going deep into the Kerouac catalogue for their film, an adaptation of his story, "Big Sur."

Expected to be released next year, the film revolves around the author's time spent at his cabin in Big Sur before his death. In addition to Bosworth, it also stars Josh Lucas, Anthony Edwards and Balthazar Getty, to name a few.

When MTV News caught up with Kate at her NYC premiere for "Straw Dogs," she explained why she was so drawn to the project.

Alexander SkarsgardAlexander Skarsgard may have lost the chance to wield Thor's hammer, but at least he'll get to terrorize the heck out of Cyclops and Lois Lane. According to Variety, Skarsgard and Kate Bosworth are set to costar with James Marsden in "Straw Dogs," Rod Lurie's controversial remake of Sam Peckinpah's 1971 classic thriller.

Peckinpah's original "Dogs" is the tale of a timid college professor named David (Dustin Hoffman) who relocates to his wife's native town of Cornwall. The distant intellectual immediately alienates the local workmen, who take a fancy to his wife Amy, who is herself feeling neglected by her husband. Tension builds between the couple, and between Amy and the workmen (one of whom is her ex-lover), eventually erupting into savage, horrific violence. "Dogs" was extremely controversial when it was released in 1971, and it remains a film of fierce debate. Read More...
