First, Mary Steenburgen was the compassionate stepmom of a North Pole free-spirit in "Elf." On July 25th, she'll once again play mother to Will Ferrell in the wild Judd Apatow comedy "Step Brothers." These days, however, she's been getting in sync with her new on-screen son, Justin Timberlake.

"I love him," she said of her co-star in "The Open Road," a recently-wrapped drama that casts JT as the son of a baseball legend (Jeff Bridges) who takes his girlfriend (Kate Mara) on a road trip to deal with his ailing mother. Sometimes the headline really says it all, no? We've been touting Ben Foster here for a while. I still think he's in the running for scene stealer of the year thanks to his kick ass villain in "3:10 to Yuma." But who does the guy that we admire have a thing for? Like everybody else it seems, he's into former "Alpha Dog" co-star Justin Timberlake.

Timberlake Director Re-Teams With Johansson For Heist Flick 'Brilliance'

Justin Timberlake and Scarlett Johansson in 'What Goes Around' Video Scarlett Johansson really made an impression on music video director Samuel Bayer during the making of Justin Timberlake's "What Goes Around...Comes Around" mini-movie -- so much so that the two will team up again later this year.

"Scarlett is one of the sexiest actresses around," Bayer told MTV News. "And she can just become her characters. Look at what she did during the Corvette scene, which a lot of people won't catch. She was shooting that on a green screen, and right before we were rolling, she was laughing. We start, and she's crying. It was just unbelievable. It's stuff like that which makes you know someone's a star."

So it was a no-brainer for Bayer that when Johansson mentioned her next project was hunting for a director, and she'd like to work with him again, to come aboard. "It's called 'Brilliance' and it's about diamond thieves, and we start shooting this winter," Bayer said. "So many things came together in all the right ways. It really was a case of 'what goes around, comes around.' In a good way."
