The Julianne Moore fans out there know that the very talented, award-winning actress can do almost anything she wants. Her dramatic work is aces, to be sure, but that guest stint on "30 Rock" was amazing. Anyway, speaking of characters with pronounced accents, Moore recently wrapped filming "Game Change," the HBO movie based on John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's best-selling book of the same name, in which Moore plays famous former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

When MTV News caught up with the actress recently, during the press day for "Crazy Stupid Love," we asked her about the challenges associated with portraying such a famous personality.

"It was hard, really, really hard," she admitted. "I had a great director, Jay Roach who was incredible. I adored him, [he was] so supportive, so smart. I did a lot of research, I worked really hard. It's hard to play someone who is very present in people's minds, who's on television, very idiosyncratic, I did my best. We'll see, I hope we pulled it off."

Julianne Moore, who appears with Amanda Seyfried in the new film "Chloe" (opening in limited release next week), will act opposite another hot young starlet in a film titled "Backwoods." According to Roger Friedman at Showbiz411, the four-time Oscar-nominated actress will be joined by "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart in the film, which Moore's husband, Bart Freundlich, is directing.

All that is revealed about the plot of "Backwoods" is that it involves the end of the world, a concept Moore has dealt with previously in "Children of Men" and "Blindness," two very different stories. I immediately presumed the actresses would play mother and daughter, but there's no actual reasoning for this. I just think it'd be neat to have Stewart, who played daughter to Jodie Foster in "Panic Room," now have the same role opposite the actress who replaced Foster in the "Silence of the Lambs"/"Hannibal" franchise. Mia WasikowskaMovies never seem to get tired of mining the comedic territory of artificial insemination. Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman have the squirm-inducing "The Baster" coming up next year. Now we learn that sperm donation means "The Kids Are All Right" for at least one cast of characters.

Variety reports that Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Mia Wasikowski ("Alice in Wonderland") and Josh Hutcherson ("Journey to the Center of the Earth") have joined director Lisa Cholodenko's indie project -- not a remake of the classic same-titled documentary about British classic rock outfit The Who -- which begins shooting today. Amanda SeyfriedWould you cheat on your wife if Amanda Seyfried tempted to you? That's the dangerous game Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore, and Seyfried will be playing in "Chloe," a film the trio has just joined according to Variety.

A remake of the French film "Nathalie," Moore will play a wife who is suspicious her husband (played by Neeson) is having an affair. She decides to test his faithfulness with the spectacularly bad idea of hiring an escort to tempt him. Read More...

Tom FordImpeccable designer Tom Ford has already conquered fashion and photography -- and now he's set to make his directorial debut with one heck of a cast. According to Variety, Colin Firth, Matthew Goode, and Julianne Moore have all joined the cast of his indie drama, "A Single Man." Ford is also executive producing the film, under his Fade to Black shingle, and cowriting the script with David Scearce.

The film is based on Christopher Isherwood's 1964 novel. It's centered around George, a British college professor, who suddenly loses his partner, Jim, in a tragic accident. The book spans one single day of his life, and finds him coping with loneliness, intolerance, tasteless neighbors, stupid people, and the impending holiday season. Read More...

Maybe this diminishes the work of the massively talented Fernando Mereilles ("City of God" and "The Constant Gardener" make a hell of a one-two punch) but I've taken to describing "Blindness" to others as a high brow "Dawn of the Dead". It's a convenient short-hand for a haunting and harrowing film. We've gotten our hands on a couple exclusive images from the film opening wide tomorrow. Check them out.

Jeff Daniels in 'The Big Lebowski'You’ve memorized every line, counted all the “f”-words, and even dressed up as The Dude for Halloween. But admit it, you never got into “The Big Lebowski” until you discovered the under-performing box-office dud on home video.

Now, with yet another special edition release hitting store shelves (this one shaped like a bowling ball), the buzz has begun building around a “Lebowski” sequel. And now, two more co-stars say they’re on board if John Turturro can talk the Coen Brothers into making Jesus rise once again.

“That’s just like a sick thought, isn’t it?” laughed Philip Seymour Hoffman recently, commenting on Turturro’s dream of making a sequel that revolves around his child-molesting, bowling ball-licking Jesus Quintana (not to mention Steve Buscemi's vision of a Donnie-centric surfer flick). “I love that [Lebowski] has a life now. I had a ball making it.” Read More...
