One of the films making its world premiere at South By Southwest next week is director Chris Eyre's "A Year in Mooring," which stars Josh Lucas as a mournful drifter who takes refuge aboard a dilapidated sailboat that he purchases near the small town of Mooring. Eyre and Lucas both took some time out recently to chat with MTV about the film and give you a little SXSW sneak preview.

Lucas' Young Mariner spends a year on his boat, fixing it up while the harbor restaurant's Waitress (Ayelet Zurer) and an Ancient Mariner (James Cromwell) observe. It is a quiet tale, and a reflective one, Eyre said, with the Young Mariner's emotional evolution over the course of the year mirroring the changing weather.

Josh LucasThe cast for Clint Eastwood's latest film "J. Edgar" continues to grow with the addition of Josh Lucas as famous aviator Charles Lindbergh, according to Deadline. His role should be relatively significant since the film is looking into J. Edgar Hoover's past around the time of the infamous Lindbergh baby FBI case.

The film will likely be told through flashbacks by Ed Westwick's character Agent Smith, who is ghost-writing Hoover's autobiography. And Damon Herriman has come on board as Bruno Hauptmann, the man who was convicted of kidnapping and killing Lindbergh's child, but whose conviction would later come into question.

Adrien BrodyWhile we might have lost Daniel Day-Lewis to a full-fledged "Abraham Lincoln" biopic, we still have high hopes that a worthy actor will tackle the title role in "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" -- and now we're one step closer to finding out who that is.

The Timur Bekmambetov-directed adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's novel has been testing a variety of known and unknown actors for the part, according to Deadline. Unfortunately, none of them is Eric Bana, who had been rumored for the part.

Adrien Brody is probably the most surprising name on the list, but we're suspecting he's looking for a true blockbuster after "Splice" and "Predators" failed to attract a wide audience despite decent reviews. Josh Lucas is also one of the better-known actors in the running. Read More...

Josh LucasAlmost fifty years ago, a young woman named Marion pulled off a main road in California during a rainy evening and found herself at the Bates Motel. Shortly thereafter, while taking a shower, she was brutally stabbed by a knife-wielding maniac who turns out to be the motel’s owner, Norman. Toward the end of Hitchcock’s masterful “Psycho,” we learn that Norman Bates suffers from multiple personality disorder, in which both he and his mother reside within his damaged psyche.

Later this year, another psychological thriller will hit theaters, and according to one of its stars, “Peacock” may well remind audiences of Hitchcock's 1960 black-and-white mind-bender.

“['Peacock' is] what would happen if Bates had basically stayed alive and married himself,’” Josh Lucas told MTV News during a recent interview to promote his Tribeca Film Festival entry, “Tell Tale.” “It’s fascinating.” Read More...
