Worst Movies of 2010

Every year has its share of great movies (check out our top 10 films of the year here and vote for your fave here) and not-so-great movies... and 2010 was no exception. There were the sure-fire winners that totally failed with critics, like "The Tourist" and the reboot of "A Nightmare on Elm Street," and there were the films that never had a chance, like "Case 39" and "Furry Vengeance"... as well as, apparently, anything with Katherine Heigl and/or Josh Duhamel.

It's kind of mean to kick these flicks while they're down, so we decided to go to an outside source for some hard data. In other words, we checked out RottenTomatoes to see which flicks were the 25 lowest rated of 2010. Then we made a convenient little poll out of the 25 films to see which one you decide is the worst. Hit the jump to vote in the poll, and let us know in the comments or on Twitter which films you thought were the bottom of the barrel in 2010 (and feel free to yell at me if you disagree)!

Jonah HexThanksgiving is a time to take a break from the bustle of everyday life, take stock of the many blessings bestowed upon us during the year and give thanks for them. It's also a time for turkey.

Keeping in line with both of those sentiments, online ticket retailer Fandango has revealed its list of this year's 10 biggest cinematic turkeys, a.k.a. the films moviegoers are least thankful for, so far. The list is based on reviews written by Fandango users who doled out their hard-earned cash to see these films and were more than just a little nonplussed by what they got in exchange.

Hit the jump to see the list (and what users had to say about each film). And remember: If you haven't paid money to watch these flicks, that's just one more reason to be thankful.

Toy Story 31. "Toy Story 3" ($42 million)
2. "The Karate Kid" ($8.9 million)
3. "The A-Team" ($4.2 million)
4. "Shrek Forever After" ($2.5 million)
5. "Jonah Hex" ($2 million)

It's been eleven years since the most recent "Toy Story" installment hit theaters — not counting last summer's special 3-D double feature of the first two films — but even after all this time, moviegoers proved that their love for Woody, Buzz and the rest of Andy's toys remains intact by awarding the threequel with a first place victory on Friday. More than fine even. "Everyone should do it," she said (with a straight face no less) in an interview with MTV's Josh Horowitz at the "Jonah Hex" press junket. "You too. I think you should," she said to Josh, adding that shaving his "'Jaws' beard" would be a necessary part of that process. No one likes a bearded prostitute, apparently.

Megan Fox gets to kick some ass and twirl some guns in this weekend's Western-inspired comic book adaptation, "Jonah Hex." What I'll bet you didn't know is that Fox is no stranger to firearms. She doesn't use them extensively in her day-to-day life as an adult, but her duck hunting father had her handling a shotgun at a very young age. Yes, that is slightly terrifying.

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Actor Michael Shannon will be seen on screen with "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart in "The Runaways" later this month, but just he'll also be appearing alongside Josh Brolin in June as a character in "Jonah Hex," the live-action film based on DC's western hero.

MTV News managed to get some info on Shannon's "Hex" role during a press event for the "Runaways" biopic.

"I play a fellow named Doc Cross Williams," said Shannon. "In the comic book, or graphic novel, he's kind of one of those old vaudevillian... He has a traveling show where he has cock fights and dog fights and strange creatures, and he's a snake-oil kind of guy."

FROM SPLASH PAGE: As we approach the end of the year, it's nice to know we have a lot to look forward to in 2010 — at least as far as comic book movies go.

From "The Losers" and "Kick-Ass" in April to "Red" and "The Green Hornet" closing out the year, there's quite a bit going on next year with adaptations of comic book properties — including a few projects that don't have release dates yet. While the May arrival of "Iron Man 2" seems like a no-brainer for next year's most anticipated film, I have a sneaking suspicion that some of the other films with significant buzz around them (like "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," for example) have fans eagerly anticipating the end of '09 and the beginning of the next movie cycle.

So, what has you most excited for the onset of 2010 films? Is it the all-star cast of "Red"? Josh Brolin and Megan Fox doing a grim and gritty turn in "Jonah Hex"? The "Twilight"-meets-"True Blood" casting of "Priest"? Now's your chance to let us know what you're itching to know more about and finally see in theaters next year.

Jonah HexFROM SPLASH PAGE: While films like "Green Lantern" and "Thor" are still searching for their leading actors (even though Chris Hemsworth has allegedly scored the part in the latter of those two), the in-production DC Comics adaptation "Jonah Hex" has been so scarce on the details that we were beginning to wonder if Josh Brolin was really in the film at all.

Well, wonder no more. A trio of images have popped up around the 'Net that show Brolin in full-on "Jonah Hex" gear, complete with all the scars, snarls and six-shooters you'd expect from the ex-confederate bounty hunter.

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Sure, the comics scene has been buzzing since Warner Bros. announced that its big-screen adaptation of edgy DC Comics series "Jonah Hex" would be directed by Jimmy Hayward of "Horton Hears a Who" -- but what does Josh Brolin, the actor likely to star in the film, think about the new guy behind the camera?
