John KrasinskiQuick: Who's the greatest author of the last twenty years? It very well be David Foster Wallace, whose "Infinite Jest" was recently named one of the top 100 novels of the 20th Century by "Time Magazine."

For "Office" star John Krasinski, who is adapting Wallace's "Brief Interviews With Hideous Men" for the big-screen, the gift of David's prose is "a blessing," he said. Unfortunately, it's a blessing that he won't be able to return.

"I talked to him on the phone and I said, 'I hope you enjoy the movie,' and he said, 'I probably won't see it.' Which is true," Krasinski laughed, recalling his conversations with the author. "He's a straight shooter, you know what I mean?" Read More...

John KrasinskiFor years, a screen adaptation of Dave Eggers' "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" has been in development hell, unable to find a director ready to bring it to the big screen.

While "Genius" is still delayed, Krasinski is starring in another project written by Eggers and his better half, Vendela Vida, with "American Beauty" helmer Sam Mendes tapped to direct.

"My girlfriend is Maya Rudolph in the movie and she becomes pregnant, we're both two people that never feel they belong anywhere," Krasinski said of the film's setup. "So we decide to travel across the country and see a bunch of our friends. Wherever we feel like home is where we decide to settle." Read More...

Irwin M. Fletcher is a master of disguise, which seems appropriate since the character has spent the past decade looking like everyone from Chevy Chase to Jason Lee to Ryan Reynolds and Zach Braff. After his next transformation, however, the cunning columnist from the "Fletch" series might just be wielding the perfectly-timed sarcasm skills of an "Office" star.

"Oh, wow, thank you, that's such a huge compliment," grinned John Krasinski this past weekend, reacting to the observation that his skills in the new flick "License to Wed" make him seem like an obvious choice to become a younger, hipper Fletch for his generation. "My name was tossed around a little bit for the role, and it's something that [I might consider]." Read More...

The best celebrity-sighting spot of the entire night may have been the limo line out back of the Gibson Amphitheatre. Eva Mendes and John Krasinski stood by alongside Amanda Bynes, while civilians (a.k.a. VIPs and publicists) tried to find their rides home. As a wrangler barked out celebrity names through a bullhorn, Justin Long screamed back "Gerard Butler? Yeah, that's me!"; Kevin Smith kept smoking cigarettes; and in the middle of it all, a candid moment between Arielle Kebbel and Jon Voight turned into the bizarre photo opportunity of John Travolta, Voight and Tyrese together (pictured below). Krasinski walked past Long and teased, "Hey, it's that Mac guy!" while "Saw" villain Tobin Bell discovered a horrific scene of his own. "I'm seeing a huge line of cars," he reported sullenly into his cell phone. When all was said and done, the best idea belonged to people like Voight and Three 6 Mafia, who took golf-cart rides to vehicles they had cleverly stashed in the adjoining Universal Studios parking lots. ...
