Katy PerryStephen Fry surprised some Apple loyalists today by heaping praise on top of Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 devices. He's been a vocal supporter of Apple products in the past, but he offered an explanation of his open-minded position on Twitter.

In other tweets, everyone seemed to have a picture with someone else to share in the last 24 hours. "Weird Al" Yankovic arm wrestled with Fred Willard; Selena Gomez hit up a Katy Perry show; Ludacris went cruising with Tyrese Gibson; and Hugh Hefner hosted "Social Network" producer Dana Brunetti at the Playboy Mansion for a screening. Links to the pics await you after the jump along with Edgar Wright remembering the late Solomon Burke.

Back in May, 20th Century Fox announced that they had lined up "127 Hours" and "Spider-Man" star James Franco to star in their "Planet of the Apes" prequel, "Rise of the Apes." Production began in July and, according to our recent chat with Franco, he wrapped up his work on the film just before the Toronto Film Festival in September. He also said that he's intrigued by the original films' cult-like status. But does he consider himself a fan?

"To an extent," he said. "I'm fascinated with the camp and cult aspects of those films."

Which we followed with a joke that Franco likely plays a version of Ricardo Montalban's Armando.

"Am I? You have to tell me," Franco teased. "No actually this is a prequel so I don't represent any character that is in the previous films," he said. Read More...

Photo posts swarmed the Twitter-Wood feed today with James Woods, Michael Madsen, Marlon Wayans and a couple of former "Full House" stars all showing up. Paris Hilton's easily contained the most drama, though, capturing what she said was a wannabe burglar who tried to rob her house only to be hauled away by the police.

Elsewhere, "Vampire Diaries" writer and executive producer Kevin Williamson commented on current events the TV series "True Blood," and if you watch both of them, you may be interested to read what he had to say. Check it out below where you'll also find reactions to "Piranha 3D" and "The Last Exorcism."

It was reported last week that offers had gone out to Don Cheadle and Freida Pinto for roles in the upcoming "Planet of the Apes" prequel, "Rise of the Apes." The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog reveals today that not only is Pinto confirmed, but she'll be joined by awesome actor-dude John Lithgow, who recently impressed the hell out of pretty much everyone during his stint as a villain on the fourth season of "Dexter." No word on Cheadle, but Pinto will play the female lead -- a primatologist -- and Lithgow will play the Alzheimer's-afflicted father of the male lead, played by James Franco.

"The Sarah Silverman Program" has friends strewn across Twitter-Wood, and many of them offered shout-outs this week to mourn its cancellation on Comedy Central. Rosario Dawson was one of them yesterday, and Brian Posehn shared his own thoughts via a tweet today.

Dane Cook, meanwhile, caught Playboy's news about featuring their first 3-D model, and he reacted about like you would expect Dane Cook to react. You can find his fears, Jeremy Piven with Mike Tyson and Adam McKay's proposal for remedying the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico after the jump in Twitter-Wood for May 13, 2010. Read More...

After you've seen the new "Eclipse" trailer you can head on over to Twitter where actress Christian Serratos has been hanging out with koalas and learning not to use the word "bear" to refer to them. She didn't seem too thrilled about the idea herself.

In other tweets, Alyssa Milano posted some photo evidence of her involvement with the NFL Draft. Michael Ian Black, meanwhile, wanted to see a different kind of draft on TV, and Frankie Muniz continued his adventure back into acting by starting work on his new movie "Pizza Man." Read all about it below where you'll also see Edgar Wright note the passing of a "Spaced" cast member. It's all in Twitter-Wood for April 23, 2010. Read More...

Jon Favreau may or may not know the secrets in store for the "Lost" finale, but he paid a visit to the folks who do after he wrapped "Iron Man 2." Damon Lindelof, meanwhile, teased that he gave away everything, but you can judge for yourself below.

Luckily, "Lost" won't have to compete with last night's NCAA men's basketball final, though. Duke's win over Butler bought together seasoned basketball player/fans like Shaquille O'Neal, as well as occasional watchers like Wil Wheaton. Check out what they thought after the jump along with pics of Tom Hanks and Busta Rhymes. It's all in Twitter Wood for April 6th, 2010. Read More...

Oscar snubs are nothing new, but the writer of the novel "Up in the Air" came from has a bone to pick with the Academy Awards' invitation gurus. Walter Kirn had fierce words for Hollywood as well, which you can find below.

In other tweets, a "Community" actor apparently found himself in the right place at the right time to sell Super Bowl-winning running back Reggie Bush a pair of glasses, Peter Serafinowicz knows who should have been cast as Percy Jackson, and actress Jamie Chung had a close brush with death in a limousine. Check those out after the jump, along with Elizabeth Banks' beef with figure skating judges. It's all in Twitter-Wood for February 17, 2010. Read More...

Scott Brown's win in the race for Ted Kennedy's U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts drew varying reactions in Twitter-Wood today. Rainn Wilson gave the election results a thumbs down. Candace Cameron gave them a thumbs up. And David Pressman thinks that Scott Brown is sexy.

In non-political controversial discussion, the recent rainstorms hitting Los Angeles have provoked predictable commentary on how residents there have no idea how to drive. Since rain in L.A. is so rare, many drivers have problems staying in control on wet Hollywood pavement. Nathan Fillon says Stan Lee is not one of them, however. Check out those tweets after the jump where you can also find out what John Lithgow had to say about his "Dexter" co-star Michael C. Hall and who Chris Rock mistook Elizabeth Banks for last night. The "Dexter" season finale was one of the most tweeted about of the year, and Twitter-Wood had most a before post from actor John Lithgow and an after reaction from Jessica Simpson waiting in the feed today.

Simon Pegg, meanwhile, checked out "Avatar" and posted his predictions for the "Star Wars" franchise based on what he saw. And speaking of assumptions based on seeing things, I indulged in three retweets from Eli Roth today, which you'll find were totally worth as you see him explain "The Office" actress Mindy Kaling's reaction to his aging automobile and how he uses it to test people he meets. You can read that after the jump alongside a pic of a kind who looks nearly identical to Russell from "Up" and a shot of Tom Felton from the British Comedy Awards last night. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 14, 2009. Read More...
