UPDATE: Twitter-Wood somehow stayed unpublished yesterday, even though I did indeed flip the switch. So here it is, slightly late. Enjoy!

North Korea may have come up short one goal against Brazil today, but that one goal they scored caught a lot of attention today in Twitter-Wood. The same can be said for the vuvuzelad being played by South African soccer fans at the tournament. Simon Pegg stepped up in defense of their horns, though.

Elsewhere, Felicia Day's E3 fascination continued today, and Nintendo's 3DS received her approval. John Cleese, who voice acts in the Lionhead Studios game "Fable 3," which appeared yesterday at the show, did not accompany his game on stage there. He did, however, tweet a self portrait today that I deemed worthy of Twitter Pic of the Day.

Whether you agree or not with that decision, it's part of Twitter-Wood for June 15, 2010. Read More...

Christian Serratos was talking about going to Greece yesterday, but last night she was post pictures from her trip to the White House, where she visited a cardboard Christmas tree.

In other tweets, Mindy Kaling saw "Avatar," and she and fellow "Office" cast member Rainn Wilson ran a hypothetical question about how Dwight would react to Na'vi. Click on past the jump to see what they predicted along with what Adam Duritz gave Emmy Rossum for Christmas, whose Wii workout game Diablo Cody has been using and what Neil Gaiman security pat-down he had to endure. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 29, 2009.

It was announced yesterday by a group of international researchers that 32 new planets had been discovered outside of our solar system. "Exoplanets," as they're called. It's a mystery to me why these scientists relied on fancy and undoubtedly expensive monitoring equipment when they could simply have asked the members of the Monty Python comedy troupe.

In their 1983 film, "The Meaning of Life," Python's Eric Idle took viewers on a trip through the galaxy with the appropriately titled "Galaxy Song." Last week, the five remaining Python members -- Idle, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam -- gathered in New York City to promote the newly released documentary, "Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut)," now airing on IFC. To cap off the half-hour Q&A, Idle picked up an acoustic guitar and strummed his way through the Galaxy Song. Check it out in our video below...

What does one do when confronted with the opportunity to probe the remaining members of Monty Python, one of the greatest sketch comedy troupes of all time? In the case of MTV's Josh Horowitz, it's an opportunity to play a little game of Marry/Eff/Kill. The results are hilarious. But then, that's to be expected when you're dealing with comedy geniuses on the level of John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam.

The Python gathering was all in support of the newly released documentary, "Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut)," which is airing now on IFC. Check your local listings to find out when.

There was a lot to catch up on in Twitter-Wood today after my long weekend, including the 40th anniversary of Monty Python's first appearance on television, which member John Cleese and fan Edgar Wright both noted. Elsewhere, Edward Norton and Danny Masterson had good things to tweet about Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke's live solo performance, and Miley Cyrus and Ashley Tisdale joined Paris Hilton among those tweeting their Halloween costume plans for 2009.

There is loads more to check out, though, believe it or not, as James Gunn tweeted a pic of himself offering juice to a horse that may belong to Rainn Wilson and Jeremy Piven posted a behind-the-scene shot of Matt Damon from "Entourage." I can't even summarize it all today, I retweeted so many people. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter-Wood report for October 5, 2009. Read More...

Monty Python's Life of BrianBritish comedy troupe Monty Python is turning 40 this year! Damn that's a long time. I didn't exactly grow up with the Pythons since I wasn't even a twinkle in my parents' eyes when they formed. But I discovered "Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail" at a young age and have since voraciously devoured every bit of their material that I could lay my hands on.

To celebrate their waning youthfulness, four of the five members of the troupe will reunite this fall for a musical adaptation of "The Life of Brian." It won't be a straight reproduction of the movie for stage, but rather a tweaked musical along the lines of the hit Broadway "Grail" spin-off, "Spamalot." Read More...
