Jessica AlbaIt's been eight years since the last "Spy Kids" movie, and boy, things have changed. For one, the kids aren't really kids anymore -- Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara are 22 and 18 years old, respectively, and are probably just a few years too old to be in Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids" Rolodex these days.

But the wheels turn, and the "Spy Kids" franchise is being relaunched this year with original director Rodriguez at the helm. It'll star a newly-expecting Jessica Alba as a retired spy mom who gets thrown back into the biz when an evil Jeremy Piven shows up to do something or other.

Dimension tossed out the first image from the movie (via Bleeding Cool), showing a positively worried Alba holding her daughter, getting ready for spy stuff. And even if the image is just a smidge on the cheesy side, we actually think there's good cause to get excited over Alba's sexy spy mom -- and, as if you needed them, we've got the reasons why past the jump.

The never-ending quest of James Franco doing awesome things continues, as this year's Oscar host has officially landed his next big assignment as the Wizard of Oz.

Franco has closed his deal to take on the starring role in "Oz the Great and Powerful," a move that reunites him with "Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi. Deadline reports that Franco will shoot "Oz" this summer between the Noah Baumbach-directed "While We Were Young" and David Cromer's "Sweet Bird of Youth," based on the Tennessee Williams play.

The "Spy Kids 4" cast is rounding out more and more, and damn if it's not looking pretty great. Jessica Alba is already set to play the kids' mother, herself a retired spy who is forced back into the game. While raising two grown kids and a new baby, no less. Fortunately, it seems that she'll have some capable help.

Alba's spy kids weren't immaculately conceived. They have a papa. And it looks like that papa might be "Community" star and "The Soup" guy Joel McHale, who is now in final negotiations to join the cast, Variety reports. Actually, the plot is a bit thicker than that. Apparently, the titular spy kids are McHale's biological children and Alba's step-children. Complicating matter further, McHale will play a spy-hunting reporter. What ever will he do when he finds out that both his wife and his children are dirty cloak & dagger folk?

I feel like a hole in the time-space continuum ought to open around this image. You've got Jason Bourne (ie Matt Damon), "Quantum Leap" protag Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) and "The Soup" host Joel McHale looking very serious over their diner food in Steven Soderbergh's "The Informant!," based on the 2000 book by Kurt Eichenwald.

In the movie, Damon stars as Mark Whitacre, former company man VP-turned-corporate corruption snitch. Whitacre worked for years to gather evidence of price-fixing against ADM, an Illinois-based agri-business. He remains the highest-ranking executive officer to ever blow the whistle on an employer's corrupt practices. Hit the jump for the intrigue. Read More...

Our readers have given their first reactions to "Twilight," as has our own Kurt Loder and the wider Internet. But there's been one missing voice among the chorus, and that's my favorite TV personality, Joel McHale, host of E's unflinching pop culture round-up show, "The Soup." So what does he think of all the pandemonium around the release? Watch the video below to find out.
