When Johnny Depp's Barnabas Collins throws a party, he asks Alice Cooper to bring a little musical ambiance in Tim Burton's upcoming "Dark Shadows" remake. The veteran rocker, who just released a brand new album, "Welcome 2 My Nightmare," will be appearing in the "Alice in Wonderland" director's reboot of the gothic soap opera.
Cooper plays himself in the movie — which is set in 1972 — and he'll be performing the classic "No More Mr. Nice Guy" for his Collins party set. On rock, horror, and comedy, Cooper told the Los Angeles Times: "Tim Burton knows it so well. He’s one of a kind. He’s a kindred spirit."
There's a lot of horror happening at Santa Monica's American Film Market (AFM) this week — which means there's a lot of wheelin' and dealin' for new projects in the pipeline that want to get made. See what new terror tales are being previewed this week, and catch up on other horror bites past the break.

After giving a part that was originally intended for Mel Gibson to Liam Neeson, "The Hangover Part II" director Todd Phillips has changed things up yet again.
Over the weekend Variety reported that Phillips, while editing the comedy, decided to cut the scene that immediately followed Neeson's. The only problem was that Neeson's scene required both a re-write and a re-shoot. Since Neeson was tied up in London filming "Clash of the Titans 2," Phillips had to find a replacement. He chose Nick Cassavetes, who will now play the tattoo artist in Bangkok that the Wolf Pack run into in their midst of their shenanigans.
Check out the rest of today's casting news after the jump, including Michael Shannon snagging the role of the villainous Zod in the "Man of Steel," Jessica Biel closing in on the "Total Recall" reboot and more!

Colin Farrell isn't exactly a dead-ringer for Arnold Schwarzenegger, but he'll do his best when he slips into the ex-Governator's shoes for Len Wiseman's developing "Total Recall" remake. And he won't be the only actor following in the footsteps of a sci-fi icon.
Deadline reports that the search is on for the two leading lady roles in "Total Recall." One is Lori, the beautiful wife turned psychotic traitor played famously by Sharon Stone in the 1990 original. The other is Melina, our hero's cohort in attempting to thwart the great Martian conspiracy, played by Rachel Ticotin.
Several notable and lesser known actors are lining up for these characters. Find out who they are past the jump!

The cast of Garry Marshall's upcoming ensemble romcom "New Year's Eve" has grown so big, from now on, we're just going to report on who isn't going to be in it. For instance, Tom Hanks is not cast in it. Neither is Kristen Stewart. And neither is Britney Spears.
Give it a week; we're sure one of them will have signed on by then.
But since we aren't here to report non-news (most of the time), Seth Meyers and Jon Bon Jovi have joined onto the cast. The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop on Bon Jovi and Meyers' characters and how they fit into the larger celeb-packed plot.

It looks like Ashton Kutcher isn't the only Valentine's Day sucker who also loves to ring in the New Year. The Hollywood Reporter has the word that Jessica Biel is also going to be returning for the "Valentine's Day" follow-up, "New Year's Eve."
As with Kutcher, it's unclear whether Biel is going to reprising her character from the previous film. In "New Year's Eve," she's playing a married pregnant woman who is trying to be the first to give birth on New Year's Day in order to win a cash prize from the hospital. This doesn't seem to gibe with her career woman in "Valentine's Day" -- but who knows, maybe she did marry Jamie Fox's character and get pregnant during the 10-month break. If so, they sure moved quickly. Read more...

A funny thing happens in "The A-Team." An attractive, young starlet, Jessica Biel has a lead role and yet she never once bares much more than an arm or two. In fact, it's Bradley Cooper who shows off the most skin. It's an odd gender reversal; typically, a Hollywood blockbuster puts just as strong a focus on objectifying female cast members as it does on giant explosions and over-the-top set pieces. According to Biel, who spoke to MTV's Josh Horowitz at the "A-Team" press junket, it was all part of director Joe Carnahan's plan.
"That was a big part that Joe and I talked about," she said. "This character is not gratuitous. She's not there to look cute and be pretty and be a girl thrown into the mix. She's really there for a plot reason. She's the lynchpin of the story." Read more...
