FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Welcome to Dress Like A Movie Star Week here on Hollywood Crush. For the next five days we will be bringing you Halloween costume ideas inspired by some of the most outrageous, colorful and downright awesome characters on the big screen in 2009. We know your wallets aren't exactly being filled by a money tree in your backyards these days, so we're going to try our darnest to keep these costume ideas easy to create and easy on your bank account! Let the trick and treating begin!

Some may say its too soon to base a Halloween costume around a movie that came out the same month, but in the case of the most badass zombie killing sisters around, were going to make an exception. "Zombieland" power girls Wichita and Little Rock (Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin) struck a special chord in our hearts when they managed to look fantastic and fashionable in the middle of the zombie apocalypse while conning and outsmarting Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) and Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) at every step of their journey.

Though you'd think there would be more clothing options available with the rest of the world turned into flesh-eating monsters, Wichita and Little Rock wear the same outfit for the entirety of the film. While we aren't recommending you don't shower for weeks as it is implied the girls were forced to ("Don't say the s-word," Wichita begged her kid sister), there are a few elements of the ladies ensembles you just cant live without.

Please excuse the delay in running this week's Box Office Poll. I experienced some technical difficulties when working from home yesterday, so I put this post off for today. What a week we're in for movies. I don't know about y'all, but every wide release that opens is on my list as well as a fair few of the limited releases. So let's get to it.

Tough to say what the big one for the week is going to be. I think the top contender -- though not necessarily by a wide margin -- is "Zombieland," a comedy-horror flick starring Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. As a zombie apocalypse sweeps across the world, the foursome set out on a cross-country trip to... well I'm not entirely sure. They kill lots of zombies though. Read more...

First there was a rumor -- ironically, spawned on Facebook -- that Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield had joined the cast of the Aaron Sorkin-penned, David Fincher-directed "The Social Network." They were to play Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Internet entrepreneur Sean Parker and FB co-founder Eduardo Saverin, respectively.

Then, MTV's Eric Ditzian spoke with Eisenberg at the "Zombieland" junket and got a pretty clear non-denial denial from the young actor.

See how he casts his eyes around? It's sort of like he's trying to hide something, isn't it? Well apparently, he was! Read more...

Who will ultimately step into the flip-flops of billionaire Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg for "The Social Network," the David Fincher-directed, Aaron Sorkin-scripted biopic about the company's founding? There've been a number of names floating around the Web – most prominently "Adventureland" star Jesse Eisenberg – but as late as July, when I spoke with "Network" producer Kevin Spacey, no actor had so much as read for the role (or so the Oscar-winner assured me).

On Wednesday, while Eisenberg was promoting his action-comedy "Zombieland," I asked the 25-year-old actor if there was any truth to the rumors.

"They are rumors," he replied. "That is true." Read more...

Adventureland” is a great little movie that came out last April, got strong reviews, and then, for reasons that call into question the whole concept of justice, sank from sight after taking in a pathetic $16 million. Happily, the film was released on DVD today, and so those who missed it or ignored it or otherwise showed it no love now have a chance to make things right.

It’s a movie about young love, youthful confusion and dumb summer jobs. This doesn’t begin to sum it up, but then neither did the film’s trailer (which may have been part of the original problem). Kristen Stewart gives a performance in this picture that outclasses anything she’s yet been called upon to do in the vampire franchise with which she’s currently involved. And she’s ideally teamed with Jesse Eisenberg, at his skittery, hyper-intelligent best; and Ryan Reynolds as a predatory older guy with enough of a soul left to realize what a scumball he is. In the below exclusive clip from "Zombieland," Jesse Eisenberg lives out the city bachelor's dream scenario when his character's hot neighbor shows up, frightened and in need of comfort. If only he knew what was coming. Hot Neighbor describes how a homeless person chased and tried to bite her. We all know this is not true, well... because the freakin' movie's called "Zombieland." We also know that Hot Neighbor is not long for this world... well... because she's called Hot Neighbor. Enjoy.

RainLots of variety from Variety today. See what I did there? Yeah? Long day. Almost over. Enjoy the Dailies.

-- "School of Rock" writer Mike White sold the script for his "Babe in the Woods," an action-comedy in which a new student at Yale University somehow becomes the target of the New Jersey mob. I envision this as a cross between "PCU" and "The Sopranos." (Variety)

-- The announcement that Steven Spielberg's next project would be an adaptation of the Jimmy Stewart classic "Harvey" led many to speculate that Spielberg pal Tom Hanks would step into -- or at least be approached for -- the Stewart role. Fox hasn't exactly put those possibilities to rest, but they did issue a statement saying that the actor "has not read the script and speculation about him and this project has been inaccurate." So there you have it. (Variety) Read more...

Emma StoneZombies are inherently funny. Sure they eat brains and trigger global pandemics, but they lurch around more slowly than a legless dog, they're constantly bumping into things and the distant stare they all affect is more amusing than alarming. Straight-laced zombie horror flicks from the old school, before the walking dead learned how to run, continue to mystify me. Are these people really so stupid that they'll let themselves be caught that something my 10-years-dead hamster could outrun?

Zombie comedy, much better formula. Granted, the dead humans walking in Ruben Fleischer's "Zombieland" are the better, stronger, faster variety featured in more modern takes on the genre. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing how stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg ("Adventureland"), Emma Stone ("Superbad") and Abigail Breslin ("Little Miss Sunshine") deal with the hordes as they make their way across the country. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I strongly recommend checking out the new trailer that popped up on Apple today.

Matthew McConaugheyA zombie Matthew McConaughey? The bizarre thought seems sure to get some of the A-list star’s fans screaming “Alright, alright, alright!” At this point though, it exists only as a persistent rumor that won’t seem to go away: Matthew McConaughey has a cameo in the upcoming film “Zombieland.”

We first got wind of Matthew’s role in the October 9th horror/comedy when we were interviewing the film’s makeup designer, Tony Gardner – the man who played a substantial role in bringing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” to life. Read more...

Fred DurstFred Durst, the Limp Bizkit frontman and occasional pop culture punching bag, staged something of a career reinvention a few years ago, leaving music behind to chase his dream of making movies. His first effort, the coming-of-age tale “The Education of Charlie Banks,” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2007. Now, two years later, it’s finally getting a theatrical release—at the same as Durst’s life has come full circle, with Bizkit getting set to reunite for a new album and a European tour.

“Sometimes you feel like it’s cursed when something takes so long to come out and you don’t know if it’s going to really come out,” the 38-year-old Durst recently told MTV News about his movie. “So the anticipation and anxiety that comes with it has really paid off because I’m so glad that ‘Charlie Banks’ has waited until now to come out. I just feel like the timing is everything with this.” Read more...
