Did you know that Wes Anderson's adaptation of Roald Dahl's book, "Fantastic Mr. Fox," features scenes of intense action and graphic violence. Well it does. As you'll see in this exclusive clip, featuring the Fox kids Ash (Jason Schwartzman) and Kris (Eric Anderson) as they deal with a bully. A bully who isn't all that he's cracked up to be, apparently.

Check out "Fantastic Mr. Fox" when it opens wide this weekend. Assuming of course you're not going to see "New Moon" another half-dozen times.

FROM SPLASH PAGE: While Jason Schwartzman's once-secret role as Gideon Graves in "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" has been confirmed for quite a while now, that's pretty much the only secret that's been revealed when it comes to Edgar Wright's live-action adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's comic book series. Little is known about the look and tone of the film, but what fans have been able to glean from Wright and his cast has been promising.

Take, for example, our recent chat with Schwartzman during the "Fantastic Mr. Fox" junket. Not only has he seen the first 20 minutes of "Scott Pilgrim," but he shared some thoughts with MTV News about how the footage looked.

"I saw the first 20 minutes of it and I'm very proud to be a part of it," said Schwartzman. "It's unlike anything I've seen in my entire life."

Veteran's Day brought no shortage of veteran appreciation today in Twitter-Wood, prompting thanks and memories from across the board, as well as a personal note from "Twilight" actor Gil Birmingham.

Meanwhile, Jason Schwartzman's on his way to the NYC debut of "Fantastic Mr. Fox," which as a Wes Anderson follower, I am anxious to see myself this weekend. Another new release, "Precious," really got a hold of Tyrese Gibson, who said the film's been keeping him awake. Check out their thoughts along with pictures from Peter Facinelli and John Stamos and a Henry Winkler autograph to be jealous of after the jump. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 11, 2009. Read more...

FROM MTV.COM: Wes Anderson is comfortable with his crew of Hollywood buddies, a bunch he started cobbling together along with college roommate Owen Wilson for his debut feature, "Bottle Rocket." In subsequent movies, Anderson's hipster squad grew to encompass Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray and others, as he continued to cast them in films like "The Royal Tenenbaums" and "The Darjeeling Limited."

So when it comes to his first animated film, the stop-motion Roald Dahl adaptation "Fantastic Mr. Fox," no one should be surprised that Wilson, Murray and Schwartzman lend their voices to the animal characters. But was it always going to be this way? Did Anderson have these actors in mind from the beginning, or did the decision to cast them develop later on? And how did Oscar winners like George Clooney and Meryl Streep sneak into this tight-knit group?

If you were going to travel around the world and seek some adventure, you sure could do a lot worse in the companion category than Jason Segel, Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman. Just think of all the smart-alecky comments as they march alongside you, all the hijinks they’d get into visiting world’s most famous tourist traps, and all the different jails you’d probably land in. Ahh, good times.

Soon enough you won’t have to imagine it anymore: the comedy team is beginning work on “The Adventurer’s Handbook” under the watchful eyes of director/Lonely Island member Akiva Schaffer. Read more...

In the below video, Jason Schwartzman takes us behind the scenes of director Wes Anderson's upcoming stop-motion animated adaptation of the Roald Dahl children's book, "Fantastic Mr. Fox." In addition to clips and behind the scenes footage, you'll learn how the actors delivered their lines and acted out their parts on location, even though they won't physically appear in the movie.

"Fox" hits theaters on November 13. Use this brief featurette then to whet your appetite for Anderson's "Darjeeling Limited" follow-up, which features a strong ensemble cast that includes Schwartzman, George Clooney, Bill Murray, Meryl Streep, Owen Wilson and more.

What gives? Wes Anderson is a pretty popular director, right? I mean, "The Royal Tenenbaums" is one of the best movies out there! And then there's "Rushmore," "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" and "Bottle Rocket"! ...and "Darjeeling Limited." I suppose.

Still, I'm surprised at the lack of a banner credit in this newly released trailer for director Wes Anderson's adaptation of "Fantastic Mr. Fox." He rounded up many of his (awesome) usual suspects for the cast, including Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Jason Schwarzman. PLUS George Clooney and Meryl Streep. Enjoy the stop-motion foxiness!

The Fantastic Mr. FoxWes Anderson's modeled characters, who will be voiced by Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and Jarvis Cocker showed up online for the world to see today. The pictures premiered in conjunction with the announcement that the first showing of Anderson's stop-motion Roald Dahl movie "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" will belong to the London Film Festival. His first foray into feature-length animation unsurprisingly brings back many of his standard actors, but the look of the film is entirely new territory for the man known for his work on "The Royal Tennenbaums" and "Rushmore."

"['Fantastic Mr. Fox'] was the first book I ever owned," Anderson told USA Today, where new pictures from the set appeared. "My brothers and I loved Mr. Fox and all the digging. We were obsessed with underground forts and tunnels." Read more...

Meryl StreepJust as everyone has an opinion, a favorite meal and a nose — albeit a fake one at times — so too does everyone have a birthday. Even celebrities. Here at Birthday Bash, it’s my mission to salute the fine actors, filmmakers and other Hollywood heroes that are celebrating their special day this week. After all, it’s cheaper than mailing a cake.

It's week two at Birthday Bash and we're lighting the candles for the following three film personalities... Read more...

Jonah HillThere's an odd literary trend going on in Hollywood right now -- adapting nonfiction guides into fictional stories. This month, we got "He's Just Not That Into You" which was originally a self-help book for lovelorn women, sometime in 2010 we'll get Hilary Swank's version of food and culture guide "French Women Don't Get Fat." So, why not Mick Conefrey's "The Adventurer's Handbook"?

According to Variety, that's the next one to go before the camera,
will star Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman. Akiva Schaffer (of SNL's "Lonely Island" crew) is negotiating to direct. Read more...
