One of the movies we’re watching closely in these parts is “Paul,” the next off-the-wall comedy from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Two of the guys behind “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz.” By now, you probably know that "Paul" has a dream cast which includes Pegg, Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Bateman and Bill Hader. However, little has been divulged about the role played by comedy veteran Jane Lynch – a scene stealer in flicks like “Role Models,” “The 40 Year Old Virgin” and most any Christopher Guest mockumentary you can think of. Until now, that is.
“In ‘Paul,’ I am in one scene, but it’s a pretty cool one,” Lynch explained when we caught up with her recently. “I run this little restaurant called the ‘Ailey-Inn.’” Read more...
A new movie from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost is always something to be excited about -- but if they recruit every pants-wettingly funny actor in existence to join them, then it may just be akin to a religious experience. We'll find out soon, because Variety reports that Seth Rogen, Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader and Jane Lynch have joined the cast of "Paul."
Directed by Greg Mottola ("Superbad," "Adventureland") and written by Pegg and Frost, "Paul" centers on two British comic book geeks who are enjoying a road trip to Comic-Con. Whether they accidentally happen upon Area 51 or go out of their way to visit it is unclear at this point, but they wind up befriending a small, escaped alien named Paul. Cue comic and extraterrestrial mayhem (but the good kind, not the "Howard the Duck" ugliness) as the two geeks help the little alien find his way home. Read more...

"Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" star Alexis Bledel is facing just that experience in "Post Grad" (previously titled "The Post-Grad Survival Guide"). The upcoming summer comedy co-stars Zach Gilford, Rodrigo Santoro, Jane Lynch, Carol Burnett and...Michael Keaton (awesome).
In the film, Bledel heads home after graduation and begins the slow process of finding a new life, a new job and new love. "Post Grad" hits theaters August 14th; check out the teaser poster from the film after the jump. Read more...
Christopher Guest, the writer/director of cult favorite mockumentaries, “This is Spinal Tap” and “Best in Show,” may be taking one of his most beloved big screen creations to the stage—even as he quits making movies all together.
Jane Lynch, who has appeared in Guest’s last three films, told MTV News: “I know Chris might take ‘Waiting for Guffman’ to Broadway.”
If true -- and we certainly hope like crazy it is -- this seems to be the first inside word that an adaptation is in the works. “Guffman” follows a community theater group as they prepare to put on a hilariously bad musical and wait for a mythical Broadway producer to show up on opening night.
