I can't freaking wait to see this movie. No talk. Just watch. James McTeigue. "Ninja Assassin." Unbelievably badass-looking ninja action. Out November 25. Finally.

Seriously, the November 25 release of "Ninja Assassin" is really close. Enough so that I can taste the blood in my mouth, which will surely be there after the unbridled awesome that director James McTeigue brings to the screen leaves my ass kicked. I didn't love his "V for Vendetta," but it was definitely beautiful. "Ninja Assassin" is similarly eye-catching, and the story will probably fare better since it's not bound to any source material.

For now though, feast your eyes upon the joys of real ultimate ninja action in our newly updated flipbook gallery.

Last Friday's episode of "Behind the Screen" unearthed a wealth of exclusive new content relating to some of the fall's most highly anticipated releases. Among them is the James McTeigue-directed "Ninja Assassin," a heavily stylized action flick featuring buckets of blood, severed limbs and everybody's favorite black pajama-wearing martial artists. If you need any convincing about this movie's high quotient of awesome sauce, check out last week's exclusive trailer.

The focus of the tale is Raizo, a world-class assassin who emerges from hiding in search of vengeance for the murder of his friend. Raizo's target is the Ozunu Clan, the same crew that helped him sharpen his own person-killing skills. The starring role in "Ninja Assassin" is filled by Asian pop sensation Rain, who will very likely break out in the U.S. after he slices and dices the army of ninja McTeigue throws his way. In real life though, the top dog killer is a sweetheart. Just check out the video below to see Rain fielding the questions that you readers gave us to ask him.

This Friday at 7pm on MTV, "Behind the Screen" returns with exclusive looks -- clips, interviews, set visits... fun stuff -- at a number of hot upcoming movies, including "Jennifer's Body," "Clash of the Titans," "2012" and "Ninja Assassin." That last one, from "V for Vendetta" director James McTeigue, is what brings me here to you now.

Unless you were one of the lucky San Diego Comic-Con attendees to check out the surprise screening of "Ninja Assassin," you've probably not seen anything more than the trailer. We're going to correct that on Friday. Tune in for "BtS" to check out an exclusive clip from the movie, which is set to hit theaters on November 25. And since I'm well aware of how painful waiting for this sort of thing can be, I'm here to bring you an advance look at the clip, in Stop Motion. Click the image below to check out the full gallery.

Really people... do you need a more rousing endorsement than that? "Clash of the Titans" star Sam Worthington going toe-to-chitinous claw with a dumptruck-sized scorpion. The idea sells itself, really.

The below clip, in which Worthington is speaking on the set of "Clash of the Titans," is a tease for this Friday's episode of "Behind the Screen," airing at 7pm on MTV. "Clash" isn't the only upcoming release you can look for exclusive interviews and footage from; you'll also see new stuff from the Diablo Cody-penned "Jennifer's Body" -- teased yesterday in a brief look at MTV's interview with Megan Fox -- and from director Larry McTeigue's ultra-stylish, ultra-violent "Ninja Assassin."

"Ninja Assassin" is looking badass, no question. Aside from sporting one of the greatest movie titles to come along this year -- seriously, it sounds like an awesome kung-fu exploitation flick imported from the '70s -- it also features the considerable talents of Asian pop star Rain, as the titular martial artist, and "V for Vendetta" James McTeigue. In a recent interview with MTV, McTeigue had nothing but positive things to say about his star.

To hear more about the movie's plot and some words from Rain himself, head over to MTV.com for Eric Ditzian's Fall Preview report on "Ninja Assassin." Also, hit the jump to peek at an EXCLUSIVE photo. Of what? Rain being a badass, 'natch. Read more...

James McTeigueIn case you haven't heard, "V for Vendetta" director James McTeigue is getting himself set to helm "The Raven," a fictionalized take on the last days of Edgar Allen Poe. It is widely known that Poe died shortly after he was found wandering the streets of Baltimore, dazed and incoherent. No clear story was ever assembled of what left him in that state. A variety of theories exist of course, and McTeigue is prepping to put forth one of his own.

In "The Raven," Poe's last days are spent in pursuit of a serial killer who is modeling his (or her?) crimes after the murders in the author's stories. Poe was 40 when he died, and the director is looking to fill the role with someone who can play that age. In a recent interview, McTiegue revealed to MTV that "I'm getting very close to the person who I want to be Poe. I think the person we're looking at will make a great Poe." Read more...

Ninja AssassinEdgar Allan Poe is no stranger to the movies. His literature has been adapted to film as early as 1908 and he was first portrayed onscreen in a D.W. Griffith short a year later. So it’s not always that exciting to hear about another Poe project in the works. However, I am very intrigued by this new movie coming from “V for Vendetta” director James McTeigue, which will fictionalize the writer’s mysterious final days.

/Film got the scoop on this project while interviewing McTeigue at San Diego Comic-Con. His latest, the upcoming “Ninja Assassin,” was screened at SDCC and it opens this November. The Poe project is titled “The Raven,” though it’s not exactly based on the writer’s avian-centric poem. McTeigue claims it’s like a cross between Poe’s “The Raven” and the David Fincher film “Se7en.” Scripted by Hannah Shakespeare (Kevin Bacon’s “Loverboy”) and Ben Livingston, “The Raven” follows Poe as he hunts for a serial killer inspired by his stories. Ninja AssassinYou want to see "Ninja Assassin." You may not know it yet, but that title should be enough to sell you. A sure-footed nod to the hundreds of campy martial arts flicks that came before it, in actuality director James McTeigue's ("V for Vendetta") latest is a stylish, digital effects-laden adrenaline blast. Then again, I would expect nothing less from a movie produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski Brothers, a group previously responsible for "Speed Racer" and the "Matrix" trilogy.

The story follows a young man named Raizo (Rain), kidnapped as a child by the shadowy Ozunu Clan. Trained to kill with blinding speed and no hesitation, Raizo grows up to be the world's deadliest assassin. And to think I wanted to be an astronaut! As is always the danger with shadowy ninja clans, Raizo is eventually betrayed by those who trained him. After spending a few years in hiding, he emerges to exact his bloody revenge. Oh yes, bloody revenge. Hit the jump to check out our EXCLUSIVE poster debut. Read more...

"Ninja Assassin" is just about everything I want in a movie. The title makes it sound like a 70s martial arts throwback, the sort that Wu-Tang Clan's RZA is likely to lift samples from. It is in fact a slick-looking action flick produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski Brothers, and directed by "V for Vendetta" helmer James McTeigue. It stars Rain ("Speed Racer") as Raizo, the world's deadliest assassin, and this exclusive debut trailer shows us why.

You've got swordplay, superhuman acrobatics, a whizzing kusarigama (ie a sickle on a chain), casual blood-letting and many, many, many flying shurikens. The ninja-loving child inside me is screaming for more. Sadly, he -- and the rest of you -- will have to sit tight until "Ninja Assassin"'s November 25 release.
