Are you familiar with James Gunn? A lot of folks know him as the writer of the "Dawn of the Dead," but his first gig was actually on Troma Entertainment's classic "Tromeo & Juliet," which he also wrote. Gunn is a regular on our daily Twitter-Wood feed, and today he joins Daily TwitPic for what may be the first time (I was wrong; it's his second).

Today's pic is exactly what the headline tells you it is. Gunn holding a wine glass while Rainn Wilson's horse -- Gussie -- drinks from it. Or at least inspects it very closely; I see no horse tongue. Gunn claims the liquid in his glass is orange juice, but I prefer to think that Gussie is a sort of alcoholic Mr. Ed, willing to sell his foals for a taste of the good stuff. It's a hard knock life when you're a horse. Read more...

There was a lot to catch up on in Twitter-Wood today after my long weekend, including the 40th anniversary of Monty Python's first appearance on television, which member John Cleese and fan Edgar Wright both noted. Elsewhere, Edward Norton and Danny Masterson had good things to tweet about Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke's live solo performance, and Miley Cyrus and Ashley Tisdale joined Paris Hilton among those tweeting their Halloween costume plans for 2009.

There is loads more to check out, though, believe it or not, as James Gunn tweeted a pic of himself offering juice to a horse that may belong to Rainn Wilson and Jeremy Piven posted a behind-the-scene shot of Matt Damon from "Entourage." I can't even summarize it all today, I retweeted so many people. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter-Wood report for October 5, 2009. Read more...

Kevin Smith completed his Twitter marathon today, and there were fellow Twitter-Wood feed faces like Richard Kelly and Brian Posehn there to meet him at the finish line. The Twitter-Wood report likewise congratulates him on his 24-hour Q&A session and wishes him sweet dreams while he re-adjusts to a normal sleep cycle again.

Emmy Rossum seems to be the new "Full House" star Twitter-Wood reports over the last week. You can probably chalk that up to my affinity for Counting Crows. I slipped in two more tweets on her performance with them in Central Park today -- this time with video links. Honestly, I could have made a complete report just between her and Kevin Smith today, but I did throw in Shannon Elizabeth's birthday pic, a Hollywood confession and a Twitter Pic of the Day featuring human size extremes. Enjoy! Read more...

Avatar"Avatar," James Cameron's big-money and hotly hyped new film finally saw its first full trailer hit the Internet today, and the Twitter-Wood feed was full of reactions -- both good and bad -- to his new race of blue-skinned humanoids.

Meanwhile, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Chloe Moretz chose to discuss two other films, exchanging expectations about their upcoming release "Kick-Ass" the already-released and "Julie and Julia." The feed had all manner of commentary today, both biting and excited, so check it all out, along with Pamela Anderson's camping destination and Elizabeth Banks' frustrations. But first check out a shot of Arnold Schwarzenegger's unusual pile of autographs. It's stacked up below in the Twitter-Wood report for August 20, 2009. Read more...

James GunnThe Daily TwitPic for this morning captures "Dawn of the Dead" writer James Gunn catching a sushi birthday dinner with his pal Michael Rosenbaum, "Smallville"'s Lex Luthor. I've always wondered why Lex never tried raising the dead to get at Superman. Maybe that's what the Gunn's and Rosenbaum's dinner convo was really about, especially since Gunn has experience with the newer, faster breed of walking dead. I wonder if a zombie bite would infect the Man of Steel. Or if it could even pierce him.

These are the thoughts that run through my head when I write for you MTV readers at 6:30 in the morning. The point is, yesterday's TwitPic is only going to be terribly exciting for a select few "Smallville" and horror fans. So I thought I'd spruce it up with some inane fanboy ramblings. It worked, didn't it? I mean here we are now, at the jump! Damn does that sushi look good. Read more...

John HughesFew directors produce a body of work that syncs with a decade as well as John Hughes' work did with the 1980s. From "Sixteen Candles" to "Ferris Bueller's " and "The Breakfast Club," he gave everyone who ever lived through high school someone to relate to. His power wasn't lost on on filmgoers or today's filmmakers, both of whom inhabit the Twitter-Wood follow list.

Filmmakers including Kevin Smith and Diablo Cody, who both picked up the plight of the high school misanthrope from Hughes, as well as other stars like Rainn Wilson and Eliza Dushku tweeted in with their memories of Hughes' movies this afternoon, and many of them recalled what it was like come to his movies in the middle of the same kinds of real-life melodramas that he tackled. San Diego Comic-ConComic-Con didn't even wait for Preview Night to set the Twitter-Wood feed on fire today. It's already a trending topic, and San Diego is the place to be for Hollywood faces this week, whether they're in comic book movies, mildly comic-book-related movies, or just movies producers would like to peddle to comic book readers. As you already know, the "New Moon" cast will be there, and at least one of them is Tweeting about it.

Meanwhile, "Eclipse" director David Slade continued his tweet rampage today posting pictures from the filming locations he's been scouting. I've included links to his TwitPic photos, which you can find below, in addition to commentary on the new "Nightmare On Elm Street" remake, whether the franchise's original director will be at Comic-Con, and which actor really wants a role Sam Raimi's "World of Warcraft" movie. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for July 22, 2009. Read more...

Emmy RossumEditor's note: A tech SNAFU left Twitter-Wood unpublished last night, so you all get TWO helpings today.

Emmy Rossum tweeted a pic from her seat at the Blink-182 concert last night in Los Angeles, which seems to have worn out her eardrums judging by her morning-after posts. The show was a popular topic for her and other celebs, like "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad who also managed to get in.

Elsewhere in the Twitter-Wood feed, folks are still talking about the moon landing anniversary. Kevin Nealon pondered the topic with some thoughtful space-travel insight. As for everyone else, the topic of the week is San Diego Comic-Con, starting tomorrow, which Richard Kelly is preparing for and Lloyd Kaufman will be roasted at without James Gunn in attendance. Check out details on all of these developments, as well as production updates on "Eclipse" from David Slade and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" from Tom Felton. It's all below in the Twitter-Wood report for July 21, 2009. Read more...

Jessica SimpsonYou may recall a little over a week ago when the Twitter-Wood feed and Emmy Rossum were left in suspense about the costume theme for Jessica Simpson's birthday party. Well, luckily Ms. Rossum tweeted in to announce what she needs to wear for the Barbie & Ken-themed event today, putting that issue to rest.

Surely you've all been anxiously awaiting Tom Felton's status, as well, since he has now arrived in New York for the "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" premiere. He was apparently honored by McDonald's with a stack of nine McNugget meals (twitpic link included). Read all about that and Clive Barker's favorite junk food below in the Twitter-Wood report for July 10; but first, as promised in the headline, here is a picture of Shannon Elizabeth screaming as she falls down Space Mountain. Enjoy! Read more...

Russell BrandHollywood may be slowing down in anticipation of the three-day Fourth of July weekend, but its citizens have still been tweeting hard today in the Twitter-Wood feed. Arnold Schwarzenegger in particular has been keeping his TwitterBerry application close in the face of California's unresolved budget problems. In fact, today he met a rather enthusiastic fan that he will tell you about in perhaps one too many details.

America's Independence Day means parties galore, and the faces of Twitter-Wood have been busy making plans. Emmy Rossum received a preemptive tweet-vite for an Evite from Jessica Simpson (along with a generous compliment), and Russell Brand today pondered aloud and uncensored what he will wear to P. Diddy's infamous white party affair. Check out all of this and some grumbles from New Orleans on the set of "Father of Invention" below in the Twitter-Wood report for July 2, 2009.

@Schwarzenegger Fresno protests have good lines. Esp. the guy asking me 2 sign Terminator 2 & budget. But saying he loved me in Red Sonja - below the belt.
