Michael SheenBritish actor Michael Sheen, who will be seen by millions this fall in “New Moon,” is reportedly in talks to join the James Bond franchise for yet another iconic role. According to an anonymous source, Sheen is up for the villainous part of Blofeld in the 23rd installment of the 007 series, which is currently being co-scripted by two-time Oscar-nominated writer Peter Morgan.

Morgan and Sheen have collaborated many times before, most memorably for “Frost/Nixon” and “The Queen,” in which he portrayed former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. It’s possible that this link between writer and actor has led to speculative rumors of Sheen’s interest and involvement in the Bond film, but we’re hoping that it’s true. Apparently Sheen has been a fan of the 007 series since his youth, so he is likely crossing his fingers, as well. Read more...

When the pairing of Jack White and Alicia Keys was first announced for the "Quantum of Solace" theme song, we expectedly were all over it. So needless to say, now that "Quantum" has arrived in stores we're still clamoring for the dynamic duo.

Thankfully the two are spotlighted on the "Quantum" DVD and Blu-ray release in a special bonus feature which you can watch below. In the featurette, we're given a fly-on-the-wall view of the making of the "Another Way To Die" music video filmed against a large green screen. Check it out and then pick up the DVD or Blu-ray, out this week.

Kellan LutzHe’s got the looks of Matt Damon, the muscles of Jason Statham, and can deliver a line way better than Jean-Claude Van Damme. So, does “Twilight” star Kellan Lutz have what it takes to become Hollywood’s next big action hero?

“I’ve got ‘New Moon’ shooting in April, and besides that I’m focusing on the film side of stuff: Reading a lot of scripts and checking out what the next big action movie is,” the 24-year-old actor (his birthday is March 15th) revealed to us when he stopped by the MTV studios recently, discussing his upcoming plans. “That’s the way I want my career to go.” Read more...

Freida PintoContributed by Matthew Williams

We just read Danny Boyle denying his involvement with a slew of upcoming film projects. And now, file his “Slumdog Millionaire” star, Freida Pinto, into the rumor mill as the next Bond girl.

From across the pond, Britain’s The Sun is reporting that Pinto has been invited to a screen test for the next James Bond movie, tentatively titled “Bond 23.” Their source reports, “Freida came to the attention of the Bond team when they were casting ‘Quantum of Solace.’ She was too young at the time to have a part as a love interest for a secret agent.” Read more...

As "Quantum of Solace" continues its worldwide box office reign, it's easy to miss the little details that made it so memorable. Thankfully, here's a list of those handy life lessons.

- Quantum isn't a multi-vitamin, but an international crime syndicate.

- When in pursuit of foreign operatives, it's pretty much guaranteed that if you dart in to any random locker room, you'll find a Tom Ford tuxedo in exactly your size...shoes too!

- The Green movement is a front for evil geniuses who really don't love the environment (though I've suspected that for a while). Read more...

Last year on the Movies Blog, we wondered, "Who would win a fight between the three best action characters of our age: Jason Bourne, James Bond, or Bruce Wayne?" and to show how serious we here at MTV News are about getting to the bottom of deep mysteries, we brought the question straight to Matt Damon himself.

In our haste to crown Bourne the champ, though, seems in our ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny battle royale we forgot about another tiny franchise star. Read more...

While "Quantum of Solace" continues to make a bajillion dollars worldwide, over on the home video front MGM has released the first wave of six James Bond films in Blu-ray. On the docket? Volume One contains "Dr. No" (1962), "Live and Let Die" (1973) and "Die Another Day (2002)," with Volume Two picking up "From Russia with Love" (1973), "Thunderball" (1965) and "For Your Eyes Only" (1981). Additional releases are also planned for the rest of the franchise.

While some of the extras carry over from the previous "Ultimate" collection, the big selling point is (obviously) seeing these classic films in all their fully-restored, high-def glory. If you thought Sean Connery kicked ass in crummy low-res, just wait til you see him whip a chair in 1080p. So with that in mind, check out the memorable laser scene below from "Die Another Day" with Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry, and then after the jump feast your eyes on one of Sir Sean's iconic fight scenes. The "James Bond Blu-ray Collection, Volumes 1 and 2” are available in stores now.

(After the jump, Sean Connery goes yachting!) Read more...

There aren't many things that I'm happy to get up early for -- especially the morning after the VMAs -- but this I'll wake up for with a big smile on my face. For a car fan, driving any Aston Martin is a blessing and a privelege ... but to drive the brand-new-not-even-available-in-dealerships-yet limited edition Aston Martin DBS was an honour! Did I mention its the exact car Daniel Craig (perhaps the best James Bond yet (after Sean Connery of course) drives in the new Bond flick "Quantum of Solace."

Here are the numbers: 510 break horse-power, 420lbs of torque and 0-60 in 4.2 seconds...this machine is no ordinary car. Much like 007 himself, the DBS is on the surface stylish and sophisticated but if it needs to, its not afraid to go one-on-one with anyone or anything at a seconds notice. I love this car! If it's good enough for Bond...believe me, its good enough for all of us!

Tim's a fan. Are you? Do you think Bond's latest ride lives up to all that have come before it? Sound off.

- Vin Diesel and Rob Cohen to go “XXX” again, as Columbia Pictures puts second sequel, “The Return of Xander Cage,” on the fast-track. (Variety)

- An extended, catch it before it gets taken down, preview for “The Day the Earth Stood Still” pops up online. (Fan Blog)

- Things we lost in the fire: Universal Studios reportedly set to re-open King Kong ride – only this time basing the experience on Peter Jackson’s re-make. (Jim Hill Media)

- Jack White turns red (with anger) over use of his Bond theme in Coke commercial. (BBC)

- The literary world lost a true genius over the weekend, but could David Foster Wallace’s death propel an “Infinite Jest” movie to the big-screen? (CHUD)

- Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn meet under the mistletoe in trailer for “Four Christmases.” Bonus Jon Favreau action included. (Yahoo)

Alicia KeysAlicia Keys just got done recording "Another Way to Die," the new theme song for the latest Bond film, "Quantum of Solace." But her real ambition?

"I think I can be the next Bond girl," the singer and actress laughed when we caught up with her recently at the Toronto Film Festival.

For now, of course, Keys will have to settle for co-creating with White Stripes frontman Jack White the kick-ass opening number in "Solace," which I cannot mention without also mentioning that it's the worst movie title in history.
