--Sylvester Stallone has opened up on the secret scene in "The Expendables" featuring himself, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and my greatest dreams come to life. According to the actor, Willis plays the man who hires Stallone and his titular team for "a death-defying mission," but there's another operative that could take on the job — none other than Stallone's longtime rival, played by Schwarzenegger. "I talked about this scene with these guys for a long time, but I never thought it would come to fruition," said Stallone. (PopWatch)
--NBC is going from "Heroes" to "Zeroes" in an all-new television project from "Crank" duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. Titled "Zeroes," the one-hour NBC project will focus on a crisis situation's final hour. "We want to drop right into it and sustain the absolute most berserk state of crisis, when all of the options have been exhausted," said Taylor. (THR) Read more...

The quote above comes from Jackie Earle Haley, who will terrorize the nightmares of teens as Freddy Krueger in director Samuel Bayer's remake of the classic Wes Craven horror flick, "A Nightmare on Elm Street." It is a role that was previously brought to life by Robert Englund, who chews scenery with the best.
"You know, I think my Freddy is just a bit more serious," Haley told MTV's Vanessa White Wolf during an on-set interview. As fans well know, later versions of Englund's take on Krueger skewed heavily towards slapstick horror as opposed to overt creepiness. Read more...
"A Nightmare on Elm Street" is one of those truly terrifying classic horror movies. There are levels of camp and comedy in lots of those '80s scare flicks, including anything from later in the "Elm Street" series, but that first one is pure terror. I'm still not convinced that a remake is necessary, but today's new trailer makes that a difficult stance to maintain.
If what you see in the video after the jump is familiar, there's a reason for that. A lot of those scenes are lifted from the original film, or at least heavily inspired by them. You also get your first somewhat clear look at Jackie Earle Haley's Freddy Krueger, and he's looking a bit different from the Robert Englund original. What do you think of the trailer? Hit the jump and then share your thoughts in the comments below. Read more...

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Jackie Earle Haley has made quite the on-screen comeback starring as Rorschach in “Watchmen” and as Freddy Krueger in “Nightmare on Elm Street,” so it only makes sense to wonder — what’s he doing on television?
To be fair, Haley’s small screen arrival comes in the form of “Human Target,” the new Fox series based on the DC comic book. Still, as some see network television as less reputable than film work, Haley’s decision to star in the show might appear questionable. Apparently, it’s not a notion lost on the actor himself.

We have complicated tastes here at the MTV Movies Blog. While it’s easy to find a horror website devoted to all things Freddy Krueger, or a Twilighter site breathlessly counting down the days to “New Moon,” you might not see that chocolate-and-peanut-butter combination crossing paths very often in a single place.
That is just one of the reasons why we’re so excited to report on the upcoming “Nightmare on Elm Street” reboot. Because we looooove Freddy, and we also looooove Kellan Lutz. And like any good parent, we could never pick one over the other. Read more...
If you were ever skeptical about New Line remaking the classic horror film "Nightmare on Elm Street," your fears may be relieved by who they have cast to wield Freddy's finger knives. According to Variety, New Line has cast Jackie Earle Haley as the iconic slasher, Freddy Krueger.
Haley's name was on the wish list of many fans (including our own Larry Carroll), and the "Watchmen" actor even teased us with the possibility. "“I just have to say I have no idea; I’m so busy trying to still reconcile Rorschach. I’m curious about [‘Nightmare’], but I don’t know.” Read more...
FROM SPLASH PAGE: The cast of "Watchmen" are clearly loyal to DC properties, whether they're on the big or small screen. Just last week, we confirmed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan had signed on to star in big screen adaptation "The Losers." Now Jackie Earle Haley has elected to remain in the DC/Warner Bros family by costarring in Fox's upcoming series "Human Target," joining Chi McBride ("Pushing Daisies") and Mark Valley ("Fringe").
Based on a DC series, "Human Target" follows Christopher Chance (played by Valley), a freelance detective and private bodyguard who serves his clients in a unique and dangerous way -- he impersonates them, using himself as a target to draw out whoever is threatening the life of his client.

Movie geeks spent months talking about how cool it would be to see Michael Chiklis as The Thing, and sure enough, he got cast in “Fantastic Four.” Samuel L. Jackson went out of his way to lobby George Lucas, and he wound up in the prequels. Now, there’s a new geek-fueled movement afoot – and one “Watchmen” star couldn’t be more flattered.
With the enormous opening of “Friday the 13th,” Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners have moved on to their next re-imagining, “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” And as we pointed out in a recent article they’re looking for someone to replace Robert Englund as Freddy – and some vocal fans think Jackie Earle Haley would be perfect for the role.
“You know, I did hear about that just recently,” the Oscar-nominee smiled when we asked him about the Freddy rumors recently. “A lot of people have been asking me.” Read more...
