I Love You ManMaybe it was the fact that Paul Rudd's cameo in Jason Segel's "The Muppets" fell through, or that President Obama admitted to loving "I Love You Man," or maybe it just felt like the right time. Regardless of the reason, Segel and Rudd decided to don their favorite Rush concert gear and reteam for a Funny or Die segment called "Jason Segel & Paul Rudd Meet Rush."

If you've seen "I Love You Man," you'll know that some of the most memorable moments from the film take place when Rudd and Segel, playing Peter Klaven and Sydney Fife, are discussing their love for the Canadian rock band. Heard your friend talk about "slappin da bass"? Well, now you know why. Needless to say, hilarity ensues in the six-minute video. Check it out past the jump! Read more...

President Obama and Paul RuddWe're all big fans of Paul Rudd here at MTV Movies Blog, but we weren't aware until this weekend that our appreciation for his comedic talent is shared by Paul McCartney (who appeared with Rudd on this weekend's "Saturday Night Live") and President Barack Obama. And both of them told him in person.

That's right, Obama invited Rudd and his "How Do You Know" co-star Reese Witherspoon to the Oval office so he could say hello to them while they were shooting the film in Washington, D.C. "We went to the Oval Office, and there was Hillary Clinton having a meeting with Joe Biden. It was insane," Witherspoon told Entertainment Weekly. "Then Obama came out and he turned to Paul and said, 'I loved you in "I Love You, Man."'I grabbed Paul and I was like, 'Are you freaking out right now?' He's like, 'I'm freaking out!'"

Not going to lie, we love the fact that Obama digs on one of our favorite recent films, so that got us thinking about which other films our current POTUS might secretly love. After all, we already know he's a fan of "Battlestar Galactica." Check out our list after the jump. Read more...

John Hamburg's "I Love You, Man" comes out on home video this Tuesday. As an earlier post from MTV's Eric Ditzian revealed, the writer/director is just as funny as his talented cast. He's also a smart filmmaker who knows when to let his performers ad lib through a scene. A lot of material ends up on the cutting room floor as a result, but that's what DVD/Blu-ray releases are for, right?

The below clip is one such bit of home video bonus content, an extended take featuring Paul Rudd and Rob Huebel arguing over the merits of networking. "Arguing" isn't quite accurate, since the discussion is decidedly one-sided. Not that the one side seems to have any idea of what he's talking about. Watch and enjoy.

Wolverine'I Love You, Man” has established its legacy. Not because it came out at a time when the nebulous idea of the pop culture bromance had started cropping up in newspaper trend pieces. Not because the film, starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segel as unlikely best buds, grossed over $70 million dollars at the box office. “I Love You, Man” has secured its spot in the cultural lexicon because the king of Hollywood comedies, Judd Apatow, has lovingly poked fun at it in one of his movies.

As writer/director John Hamburg tells MTV News, “There’s a line in ‘Funny People’ where a guy tells Adam Sandler’s character, ‘Oh, your career is hot—Paul Rudd wants to star in a bromance with you.’ I emailed Judd and said, ‘Do you have a director for that project?’” Read more...

2009 MTV Movie AwardsI bet you thought I forgot about yesterday's category previews. That wasn't what happened though; time just got away from me. Lot of major developments yesterday on the 2009 MTV Movie Awards front. The big news for you Twilighters of course was the revelation that the "New Moon" clip premiering this Sunday will actually be the movie's debut trailer. There was also the revelation that there's still a to-be-announced mystery presenter, as well as the launch of our awards countdown widget, which will magically transform into a streaming video of the show when the clock strikes zero at 9pm EST this Sunday.

In short: it was a busy day. Here I am though, fresh and ready to tackle today's load of crazy. What better way to start than with a round-up of yesterday's previewed categories, along with a few predictions on the same. As always, I welcome your thoughts on my choices, your own choices or anything under the sun really in our comments section below. Read more...

We at MTV News love Paul Rudd. I'm sure no one here loves him more than Josh Horowitz (sorry Dwayne Johnson), but we all appreciate that Rudd is usually up for anything when it comes to creative interviews. It gives me great pleasure that Paul Rudd was absolutely the best dressed male at last night's premiere for his new comedy "I Love You, Man."

Mr. Rudd looked sharp in a grey suit, black gingham shirt and black tie. Monochromatic, but not boring, the ensemble played on tones and patterns. I'm not sure what else you can say about a really well put together suit, shirt and tie, but a "thank you" to his stylist is probably in order. In fact, maybe it was his lovely wife, Julie Yaeger, who played the part of arm-candy. Her black-on-black outfit absolutely complimented his. (Check out the happy couple after the jump, plus see the who's who of comedy in our "I Love You, Man" premiere gallery.) Read more...

Some start their day with a plate of ham and eggs, and for others it's a power bar of some sort. And for millions of Americans it's as many ounces of coffee as they can ingest on their way to work. But Paul Rudd is different than most of us. Better? That's not for me to say. But certainly different. When I chatted with the "I Love You, Man" recently he (and co-star Jason Segel) revealed a breakfast love that is dare not spoken. Check it out and then click here to watch the rest of our zany interview with Paul Rudd and Jason Segel.

Who wouldn't want Paul Rudd or Jason Segel for a best bud? Indeed in their new film out next week, "I Love You, Man" they serve that role for each other. But when I caught up with the very funny duo last weekend I had one ulterior motive in mind: join the gang! I knew it was a longshot but you can't fault a guy for trying. And at the very least I love the moment when Jason seems a bit jealous. "Wow, you guys have hung out way more than we have!" Score one for the little guy! Check out the full Rudd/Segel Rough Cut here.

Could you convince Paul or Jason to let you into their circle of friends? How would you do it?!?

There's a new level of friendship lately and it's called bromance. MTV even has an entire show dedicated to it. So what is it? In short, it's two guys bonding and often times there's a comedy element involved.

Now Paul Rudd is bringing bromance to the big screen with "I Love You, Man," where his character realizes -- when he needs to pick a best man -- that he has no guy friends. Thus, he goes searching and along comes Jason Segel. Below, check out the scene from where they first meet, and then catch "I Love You, Man" in theaters March 20.
