John C. ReillyWith the mystery of who will play "The Hunger Games" heroine Katniss Everdeen long over, the question of who will star as the important supporting characters still looms.

As Elizabeth Banks closes in on the over-the-top Effie Trinket, Hollywood Crush reports that Oscar-nominee John C. Reilly is in contention for the part of the boozy, but vital, "Hunger Games" ex-champ and mentor Haymitch Abernathy. Reilly, an inspired and more than well-suited choice for the role, would beat out the likes of other rumored Haymitch contenders such as Hugh Laurie.

Mark Wahlberg in The FighterHow much would you pay to see Muhammad Ali Will Smith face off against Micky Ward Mark Wahlberg in the boxing ring? Well, apparently the Hollywood Boxing Federation is willing to pay each $1 million to face off in Las Vegas in three one-minute matches. Of course, Wahlberg has already said he dove face-first into a giant pile of cookies after training for "The Fighter" for four years, and it's been nine years since Smith finished training for "Ali," but these are all minor details.

Damon Feldman, CEO of Hollywood Boxing Federation, explained to RadarOnline that "this will be a great opportunity for both stars to fight in the Superbowl of Hollywood boxing and to donate millions to their favorite charities... Come on, I really think that this would be a huge event and great way for them to donate to their favorite charities." The offer went out today.

While we think the likelihood of this actually happening is pretty slim, we like where the HBF's head is at. If either Smith or Wahlberg (or both) turn the idea down, we have a couple ideas for other celebs-turned-boxers who might be willing to step up.

Ashton KutcherIt's not every day audiences get to see Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Hilary Swank acting opposite Ashton Kutcher, Abigail Breslin and Lea Michele. But that's exactly what's likely to happen in "New Year's Eve." Gary Marshall's thematic follow-up to this year's "Valentine's Day" has plans to blow the previous film's ridiculous number of stars out of the water, and is already well on its way to doing so.

Breslin and Michele have already been announced, but today The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that De Niro, Pfeiffer, Swank and Kutcher are in negotiations for roles as well. And you can toss Hector Elizondo into the mix, too, because Marshall previously told MTV that the "Pretty Woman" actor "has to be in all my movies." Read More...

From the look of things, director Mira Nair's "Amelia" is much more than the fall season's obligatory Oscar-worthy biopic. It may be that too, but Earhart is a fascinating subject and Hilary Swank, who has a couple golden statues of her own already, is a great fit for the role. The story chronicles Earhart's personal life as she rose to prominence, that is until her 1937 disappearance as she attempted to circumnavigate the globe in an airplane.

Check out our trailer review over on Hollywood Crush and click the image below for a look at our exclusive Fall Preview gallery. "Amelia" hits theaters on October 23.

Bailee MadisonImagine that you're 9-years-old, you've just landed your first big movie role -- and you'll be playing the younger version of a two-time Oscar winning actress. Would you be nervous?
"I'm playing the most beautiful girl!" grinned little actress Bailee Madison, adding that playing a young Hilary Swank won't give her jitters. The youngster begins playing a flashback version of Hilary Swank this week in the lawyer-on-a-mission film "Betty Anne Waters."

"Betty Anne Waters, played by Hilary Swank, tries to free her brother from jail for committing a crime he never did," she said of the plot. "I play her as a kid. They show how in real-life she was always so tough…It's a really cool role for me." Read More...

Sam Rockwell in 'Chock'Last month, we brought you the news that Minnie Driver and Hilary Swank were starring together in "Betty Anne Waters," the true story of one woman's legal battle to rescue her brother from prison. Now, Swank finally has someone to rescue. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sam Rockwell has joined the cast, and will play Waters' wrongfully imprisoned brother. Tony Goldwyn is directing the film, and Swank is executive producer.

While Oscar-winner Swank hasn't been a big name at the box office lately, Rockwell is becoming one of those actors that everyone loves. His presence might be just the thing that tips this film into solid "Million Dollar Baby" territory for Swank, who really deserves to have her popular credibility rise again. Read More...

Hilary SwankIt's rare to see a film with one strong female role, let alone two, so this sounds kind of promising. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Minnie Driver is joining Hilary Swank for Tony Goldwyn's legal drama "Betty Anne Waters."

The movie is based on the true story of Ms. Waters, an unemployed single mother who saw her brother convicted and sentenced to life in prison for murder-robbery. Determined to prove his innocence, she spent the next decade earning a law degree and working her brothers case, challenging his conviction with DNA evidence. Read More...

Hilary SwankYou can never quite predict what kind of role Hilary Swank is going to take next. She bounces from boxing to biopics effortlessly, and while reviews of her work are often mixed, you have to admire her guts. And from the sound of it thanks to today's Variety, her latest role is going to require her special brand of gutsiness for "The Resident," a thriller directed by Antti J. Jokinen.

Swank will play a doctor who moves into a Brooklyn loft, but begins feeling uneasy in her new home. She becomes convinced she's not alone, and discovers her landlord is stalking her. Whether he's been stalking her for a long time, or whether it's just convenient that a pretty girl moved into his building is unclear -- but I suspect Swank's character won't give up her apartment without a fight. Hilary SwankLast July, MTV News sat down with former Marvel honcho Avi Arad and asked him straight out about a rumored "Iron Man" cameo from two-time Oscar winning actress Hillary Swank, a small role which director Jon Favreau seemed to confirm in an early production blog only weeks before.

"How do you know [about that]?" a stunned Arad replied at the time, admitting that Swank did appear and that it was a "cameo."

Immediately, fans began to speculate on her character. Was she a pre-transformation She-Hulk? The Black Widow? S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter? Read More...
