It's a rare occurrence when Miley Cyrus and Mike Tyson share a spotlight, but that's the way it shakes out as both celebs see their biggest release in years hit store shelves.
In a rather slow week filled mostly with television box sets, Miley's "Hannah Montana: The Movie" is one of two new wide release films dropping on Blu-ray and DVD (the other being the horror remake of "The Last House On The Left," but what's left said about that?). In the pic, Miley's father drags her back home to give the teen superstar some much-needed Southern-style perspective. While it didn't quite match the hype of her 3-D excursion, the first full-fledged "Hannah Montana" theatrical outing managed to please fans of the Disney series, which I guess is all that counts. The film gets a Deluxe Edition with modest extras including behind-the-scenes footage, cast bloopers, a music video and audio commentary from the director (they couldn't wrangle Miley?). Read more...

“I just got back from Thailand shooting a movie called ‘The Lost Medallion: The Adventures of Billy Stone,’” said the young actress when MTV News caught up with her at the “17 Again” premiere. “We were shooting fifty miles from the Burmese border, and in the rainforest and a thousand year old temple ruins and stuff like that.”
“It’s an adventure story,” she said of the flick. “These two kids go back in time to this South Pacific island two hundred years ago, and adventure ensues.” Read more...
As reported by MTV News last April, and confirmed this morning in a press release from Disney, Hannah Montana’s first full-length flick will see the titular teen titan travel from Los Angeles to her hometown in Tennessee.
The spirit to move must be infectious.
According to the press release, "Hannah Montana: The Movie" has shifted its release date up three weeks from May 1, 2009 to April 10, 2009, where it will now compete for box-office glory against anime adaptation "Dragonball" and the Seth Rogen / Anna Farris comedy "Observe and Report." It was previously set to go head to head against the man with the adamanteum skull: "Wolverine."
