So much mystery surrounding this "Prometheus" flick... how much "Alien" DNA will it really have? Which characters will live and which will die? Who will make an awesome cameo? So many questions and so many months to mull them over while we wait for the film's release on June 8.

In addition to the newly-released still of star Noomi Rapace all space-suited up and looking on in wonder, we had a little chat with actor Guy Pearce at the Golden Globes during which he confirmed that he is indeed in the film, if only for a hot second or two.

When asked about his experience on set, Pearce said it was everything we'd assume it would be, amazing and fantastic.

"I'm only [in the film] for a minute, but it was a real honor to work with Ridley [Scott], to see what was going on," he said. "I think Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron and everybody will do a really spectacular job."

The Guillermo del Toro-produced "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" might warn you to keep an eye out when the lights go off, but, according to MTV's exclusive clip from the upcoming horror movie, you'd better watch out when you're in the bath too.

Everyone who tuned in to tonight's season finale of "Teen Wolf" (and that's all of you, right?) have already seen this clip, but for the rest of you out there, the scene shows off "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark's" brand of horror. The clip is called "The Bath" and, as is expected, takes place when leading lady Bailee Madison is taking a soak. But when this film's darkness-cloaked baddie flicks off the bathroom light, she knows she's in for a scare.

Don't worry, the above scene doesn't have anything that will make you jump out of your skin in fear, but it certainly set this Movies Blog writer ill at ease.

Chris HemsworthSnow White may be the fairest maiden of them all, and to protect such a prize, she's going to need some thunder on her side.

Enter Chris Hemsworth, the on-the-rise Australian actor set to star as the God of Thunder in this weekend's "Thor." Variety reports that Hemsworth is Universal's favorite pick to star alongside Kristen Stewart in "Snow White and the Huntsman," potentially ending a casting search that's seen actors like Viggo Mortensen and Hugh Jackman come and go. No official offer has been made yet, though the job is reportedly Hemsworth's if he wants it — assuming his shooting schedule with "The Avengers" doesn't get in the way.

Get the rest of today's biggest Hollywood headlines after the jump, including confirmation of Guy Pearce's casting in "Prometheus" and a new director for "Gotti."

Jeff BridgesTalk about having some major range: Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges will go from "Crazy Heart" to "Tron" to "True Grit" to, possibly, the zombie comedy "R.I.P.D."

According to Deadline, Bridges is in talks to star opposite Ryan Reynolds in the movie about a squad of undead police officers. The comedy, which is based off of a comic, has Robert Schwentke at the helm. If Bridges were to step in, he would be taking over for Zach Galifianakis, who dropped out from the project due to scheduling issues. Honestly though, who wouldn't abide by the law if The Dude was on the undead force?!

Check out the rest of today's biggest casting news from Hollywood and find out who might be appearing in "Prometheus" and which Academy Award-winner will be team up once again with Sasha Baron Cohen!

Guy PearceAdd "The Wettest County in the World" to our list of movies we're enormously excited about. Based on Matt Bondurant's novel about his grandfather and two great-uncles' bootlegging activities in Prohibition-era Virginia, the John Hillcoat-directed and Nick Cave-written gangster movie has already secured top-flight talents Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy for the two lead roles as the Bondurant boys.

Now, add four more stars to the cast: Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska and Jason Clarke are all on board for "The Wettest County in the World," which starts lensing in Georgia on February 28.

Good news, all. Luc Besson is going back to sci-fi! The "Fifth Element" director has locked down "Lockout," a movie in which a man who is conspiracy is fired into space to rescue the president's daughter from an orbiting prison that's been taken over by rioting inmates. Deadline, reporting the news, characterizes the story as "Taken" in outer space. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's definitely a little "Escape from New York" in there too, right?

Maggie Grace, who, incidentally, starred in "Taken," is signed on for the female lead in "Lockout." Guy Pearce is attached for the male lead, our aforementioned convicted conspirator who in fact did not commit any crimes. Besson, who wrote and produced "Taken," has been busy in recent years directing a series of movies that started with children's book adaptation "Arthur and the Invisibles." I'm encouraged to see him stepping back towards more grown-up fare with "Lockout."

Guy PearceShh — be very, very quiet. Guy Pearce is hunting wabbits. Or jumping for them, at least.

Pearce, the actor behind such hits as "The Proposition" — not to be confused with the Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds rom-com "The Proposal" — and "The Time Machine" — which is, sadly, the atrocity you're thinking of — has joined the cast of "The Hungry Rabbit Jumps," the thriller starring Nicolas Cage and January Jones of "Mad Men" fame. Roger Donaldson is the director.

Variety reports on the casting news but neglects to mention the specific role that Pearce has in the film. Given the premise of the movie and Pearce's talents, however, it's likely — not definite, but more than possible — that he'll play one of the movie's multiple antagonists. Read More...

Guy PearceIt's okay to be afraid of the dark, just don't be afraid of "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark." Particularly not when you've got an actor of Guy Pearce's ("Memento") caliber attached to the ticket.

The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop that Pearce will star in "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark," a remake of a '70s ABC telefilm about "a young girl who moves in with her father and his girlfriend and discovers they are sharing the house with demonic creatures." Read More...

Guy PearceFROM SPLASH PAGE: Rumors continue to swirl around the already highly-anticipated follow-up to "The Dark Knight": some have already been debunked, while others are only starting to heat up -- namely that of who will be playing the Riddler (that is, if the Riddler even is a villain in the next film). While Johnny Depp has been the most talked-about actor whenever the role comes up, he isn't the only actor who'd be interested in reading for the part.

In a recent sit down with MTV News, Guy Pearce (long mentioned as a potential candidate due to his relationship with the "Momento" helmer) stated to us that he'd be interested in taking a look at the role (or any role in the film) so long as Christopher Nolan was still on board as director.
