JGLWe reported on it weeks ago, but it was made official yesterday: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotilliard will be joining the cast of "The Dark Knight Rises." And if it wasn't for Twitter, we'd have no idea how meta this casting really was.

According to the James Cameron blockbuster "The Terminator," the artificial intelligence in the Skynet program went live yesterday, which means that our inevitable destruction is just hours away! Since we're all about to die, you might as well read a few predictions for what might be in store for the robot apocalypse.

And a beautiful actress talks about filming love scenes! We won't give it away, but it involves lots and lots of high fives.

I'm @TravisHelwig and this Twitter-Wood for April 20th, 2011.

Zoe BellAll of us here at MTV are excited for Ridley Scott's "Alien" prequel. The director hasn't had anything to do with the series since the 1979 original, which is a bonafide classic. To honor Scott and his lasting contribution to badass women in film, we've paired up the lovely duo of MTV contributor Jenni Miller and producer Sohyung Kang to produce a magical list of five leading ladies who could rock Ripley.

Although there aren't any hard and fast deets out there concerning Ridley Scott's prequel to "Alien," I've got my fingers crossed for a female badass to rival Sigourney Weaver's iconic Ripley. Since Weaver has stated publicly she doesn't think Ripley could be part of an "Alien" prequel, I have a few suggestions as to who could fulfill the role of cinema's favorite alien-killing, kitty-saving, space-feminist. Eli RothFilmmaker Eli Roth burst onto the scene a few years back with the gory, gruesome, great “Cabin Fever” and “Hostel” films, but has kept a relatively low profile ever since. Recently, he stopped by the MTV studio to tell us about his new top secret sci-fi screenplay, and the revolutionary double-barreled plan to finally film his “Grindhouse” trailer.

“I’m almost done with my new script,” revealed Roth, whose upcoming return to glory also includes his first major acting role in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” this August. “I was actually almost done with it before ‘Basterds,’ but I had to put it down, and that was actually a good thing I took time away from it, but I’m going to finish that up and start shooting this fall.” Read More...

"If you're going to hire Machete to kill the bad guy, you had better make sure the bad guy...isn't you!" Danny Trejo's now-immortalized anti-hero from Robert Rodriguez's faux trailer was one of the few universally-acclaimed parts of "Grindhouse," the dead-on-arrival double-feature from the "El Mariachi" director and Quentin Tarantino.

Rumors of a feature-length leap for the Machete character began almost immediately, given the audience's enthusiastic response to the no-nonsense, ass-kicking, revenge-seeking Mexican immigrant played by Trejo, a fan-favorite character actor and frequent collaborator of Rodriguez. It's a movie that's close to becoming a reality according to the star...if Bob and Harvey Weinstein can just be convinced to pony up the dough (See Trejo's message to the Weinsteins below, and then read about the film's status after the jump).
