cook1.jpgDane Cook haters rejoice! The man has 2.5 million Myspace buddies, but search most online message boards, and you'd be hard pressed to find a vocal supporter for the popular comedian. And he's finally seeing the light himself…well, in films anyway.

"Basically, I'm an a--hole," Cook joked of his role as Tank in the upcoming "My Best Friend's Girl," a sort of reverse romantic comedy opposite Kate Hudson and Jason Biggs.

"I'm a guy that you hire when your ex breaks up with you and you want her back. Maybe you screwed up, maybe you didn't - it's not for my guy to judge," Cook explained. "But he goes in and dates your girl and is so maniacal and ruthless he drives her completely insane. She starts to feel like you weren't so bad after all. I force her into the arms of the last guy." Dane CookIn just this past year alone, Dane Cook has gone from comic to killer to dramatist in movies like "Good Luck Chuck," "Mr. Brooks," and "Dan in Real Life." But the biggest reinvention is yet to come, Cook excitedly revealed to MTV News, as he prepares for his next role in...an action movie?

Believe it, Cook teased, saying he's getting ready to give the Superfinger to crime in "Dead Already," a buddy cop movie "in the vein of 'Lethal Weapon.'" Read more...

If you've ever wondered what would happen if you managed to get hottie Jessica Alba and comedy kingpin Dane Cook in a room together, ponder no further...apparently they make out a lot. For proof, take a gander at the clip below from their new film "Good Luck Chuck," which hits your local grindhouse on September 21.

WatchmenOf all the montages in film history — the "training" montage, the "making it happen" montage, the "falling in love" montage — none will be as memorable as the one in "Good Luck Chuck," laughed star Dane Cook.

"There's a montage of about 30 women [I sleep with]," Cook announced. "My p---- had to be CGI."

It was co-star Jessica Alba and not Cook, however, who had 6,000-plus audience members salivating at Comic-Con. Asked by a costumed Optimus Prime what fans of the sexy actress would find most surprising about her, she replied, "I'm also a sexy man."

Alba almost shows the world her full monty in a scene from the film in which she tries to initiate a romantic encounter with Cook while both lie in a bathtub.

It was enough to make anyone lose some self-control. "I love you," a fan yelled out at Alba. "I like you," Cook chimed in. "But I want to see other people."
