Drew BarrymoreYesterday, I wrote about Drew Barrymore's hair incident at the Golden Globes, and have since learned that apparently there's a story behind it.

A tipster emailed in that Ms. Barrymore was shooting a commercial during the day for Ferrari. According to our source, Drew was racing the car down an airstrip against a Gulfstream G550, in an ad created by Dr. Rand Pink and directed by Giancarlo Bertolini.

I suppose a shoot like that'll really do a number on your 'do … ya know, wind and all. Read more...

Mickey RourkeFROM THE NEWSROOM: You know how everyone always talks about how insane and mind-bogglingly surreal awards-show red carpets are? As the long-time king of camp cynicism, I was ready to chalk all that up as just more Ryan Seacrest hyperbole (not everything can be that amazing, can it?).

I stand corrected. Last night was my first tangle with the Golden Globes carpet. (Oscar-nominated director Stephen Daldry: “Aw, you’re a virgin!”) And dare I say it? It was a draw. Here, now, are some of the shenanigans that transpired. Relive it with me, why don’t you?

» In my seven-second interview with Mickey Rourke, I got him to talk "Iron Man 2” for the first time. Sort of. That was only to be outdone by my “interview” with Angelina Jolie. Total words uttered by Angie? One. That’s all you need when you’re one half of Brangelina.

Drew BarrymoreDear Drew,

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the '80s (besides banana clips). And I'm sure everyone who went to their prom during that decade had just as much good, clean fun as I did at mine [Editor's note: Speak for yourself, Rachel!]. But that doesn't mean you should bring it back to haunt fashionistas everywhere, Drew Barrymore, now that most of those pictures have long been burned.

The more I stare at your Golden Globe look from last night, the more I realize that this disaster had nothing to do with your dress. The gown was lovely, elegant, even a little edgy. Your makeup was fine, even though I personally wouldn't have chosen a blue shadow.

But! The! Hair! Read more...

It's fitting that a pair of dark rags-to-riches stories in which the underdog endures great pain to rise up triumphed Sunday night at the Golden Globes. The biggest winner of the evening, "Slumdog Millionaire," overcame odds just to get made and has built the kind of word-of-mouth buzz most filmmakers only dream of, especially for a small picture filmed in the slums of Mumbai.

And especially on a night when it was up against some major Hollywood heavy hitters like "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "Doubt" and "Frost/Nixon," all of which were shut out of the major categories. Read more...

Kristen BellGossip Girl here, your one and only source into the lives of Manhattan's elite. Fortunately for you, I have the connections in Hollywood to bring you the same inside scoop from the West Coast during the most interesting of times. It's award season, which means parties and after-parties, which in turn brings fashion hits and misses to a whole new level. Careful girls, even the walls have eyes when I'm in town.

The Golden Globes brings with it many post-show activities, but the night's place to be -- the InStyle/Warner Bros. party -- is absolutely worth an appearance. Only Hollywood's most fashionable will make the magazine, but everyone puts their best foot forward. Read more...

(C) Golden Globe Awards 2009 - MMIX Hollywood Foreign Press AssociationPop the bubbly and prepare to watch HBO win every dang "miniseries" category because The Golden Globes are back! After last year's SAG-strike-press-conference-debacle, the glitz and glamour (and drunken celebrities) are set to honor the best in movies and television, and I cannot wait to dissect every awkward TelePrompTer read, every self-involved acceptance speech and every hilarious audience cutaway reaction shot. Oh, and I guess I'll talk about who wins, too.

Who will be this year's Liz Taylor? Will "Slumdog Millionaire" top Brad Pitt as a pepaw? What on earth is Mickey Rourke going to wear? (Heck, what on earth is Mickey Rourke going to do??) All these questions and more will be answered as we watch tonight's Golden Globes together. Let's do this thing!

7:58 pm: This is my first time watching an awards show in HD. This is going to be enlightening!

7:59 pm: Okay, I just switched over from E! and Tiki Barber is co-hosting the NBC Golden Globes red carpet special? I wonder if that means Billy Bush will one day report from the sidelines of the Super Bowl.

Maria MenounosHi All! It's Jocelyn Vena here, MTV News fashionista for the evening. I'm here to share my thoughts on tonight's hits and misses as the celebrities roll up on the Golden Globes red carpet. (And of course, you're here to tell me if you agree or disagree, so speak up in the comments section!) I can't wait to see what everyone is wearing!

6:01 p.m.: The first man to hit the carpet is ... Ricky Gervais!! Yay! He's look fab in a simple Calvin Klein suit and tie. Very classy!

6:05: Jonathan Rhys Meyers, also in a black suit and tie. There must be some United Kingdom dress code that these guys are sticking to. JRM's jacket looks a little big for him though. Read more...

Scarlett JohanssonThat's right, folks. Come this Sunday, we'll be all over the 2009 Golden Globes with live blogs, fashion reports, red carpet interviews, celebrity photo galleries and more.

We’ve been highlighting the Globes for the past week as we get ever closer to Sunday. We brought you Golden Globes fashion hits and misses from year’s past featuring a Scarlett Johansson barely-legal dress that you don’t want to miss. We also took a look at some of this year’s nominees, including Angelina Jolie and significant other Brad Pitt, Beyonce, Anne Hathaway, and young Miley Cyrus, who got a Globes nod for her song in “Bolt.”

So don't forget to hit us up Sunday evening for all our Golden Globes live coverage. The carpet opens at 6PM ET and we'll be there for the best of it.

Robert Downey Jr. in 'Tropic Thunder'The nominations are in. Now let’s nit-pick, shall we? Actually no, I’m going to begin this season of awards prognostication and analysis (the Globes nominations are after all the unofficial kick-off party) with a wholly positive look at what the Globes did right.

Five things they got right this morning:

-- Here’s to some love for the funniest movie of the year, “Tropic Thunder.” Cruise is a pleasant surprise (though I actually thought he was one of the weaker parts of the film, a little too broad even for a film like this) and Downey is a stroke of genius. It’s a performance that killed the first time and holds up on repeated viewings. And while we’re on the topic of comic turns that needed to be acknowledged, I’m thrilled to see that James Franco make the cut for “Pineapple Express” too. Read more...

He hosted the Independent Spirit Awards last year, so who better than "Office" worker Rainn Wilson to announce the nominees for the 2009 Golden Globes? Joining him was "Zack & Miri Make A Porno" star Elisabeth Banks, "Iron Man" sidekick Terrence Howard and "Blue Lagoon" throwback Brooke Shields.

We've got a sizzling image gallery of all the festivities, so click here or on the photo below to check out the hotness.
