JGLWe reported on it weeks ago, but it was made official yesterday: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotilliard will be joining the cast of "The Dark Knight Rises." And if it wasn't for Twitter, we'd have no idea how meta this casting really was.

According to the James Cameron blockbuster "The Terminator," the artificial intelligence in the Skynet program went live yesterday, which means that our inevitable destruction is just hours away! Since we're all about to die, you might as well read a few predictions for what might be in store for the robot apocalypse.

And a beautiful actress talks about filming love scenes! We won't give it away, but it involves lots and lots of high fives.

I'm @TravisHelwig and this Twitter-Wood for April 20th, 2011.

Manners exist to provide some measure of civility in the interactions between human beings... and also to give Russell Brand one more thing to mock. That's exactly what the "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "Get Him to the Greek" star did when he followed in the hallowed footsteps of Steve Carell, Malin Akerman, M. Night Shyamalan, Will Ferrell and Danny McBride by sitting down with MTV's Josh Horowitz for an envelope-pushing edition of "After Hours."

In addition to teaching Josh how to score points on a first date (when the girl's "lady period of the month is happening"), Brand also doles out pointers on how to succeed at a job interview (man-on-man kissing, naturally) and how to make a marriage work (strawberries are involved). Of course, the always bold comedian makes a point of demonstrating all of this -- otherwise where would his manners be?

What do you think of the latest installment of "After Hours"? Who's been your favorite guest thus far? Tell us in the comments!

"Get Him to the Greek" arrived on DVD and Blu-ray this week in an unrated cut. To celebrate the release, director Nicholas Stoller did a round of interviews. Unable to resist the chance to chat with the man who created the Jeffrey -- not to mention the man who wrote the latest chapter in the continuing adventures of the Muppets -- I set up a chat. Read on to learn what's new in the unrated cut, where the Jeffrey comes from and what makes the real-life Diddy, to use Stoller's own words, "super weird." Read More...

HansonIt's been three weekends since we got a full, sex-drugs-and-rock & roll-fueled introduction to Aldous Snow, the endearingly boorish frontman of Infant Sorrow played by Russell Brand, first glimpsed in 2008's "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and given his own movie in this month's "Get Him to the Greek." The pop culture impact of Snow's music is still being felt today.

Hanson, those loveable "MMMBop"-ers, headed into the studio recently to record a cover of Infant Sorrow's "Furry Walls," the third track off the film's soundtrack. It's a catchy tune, combining Hanson's toe-tapping pop-rock sound with Snow's drippingly absurd lyrics. "When we think of the most iconic rock bands in history, it starts with Led Zeppelin, The Who, AC/DC and ends with Infant Sorrow," the band said in a post on their website.

This morning, Taylor Hanson — still very much keeping to the "Snow is a real person" narrative — called up MTV News to talk about the origins of the cover... Read More...

3. "Shrek Forever After" ($15.8 million)
4. "Get Him to the Greek" ($10.1 million)
5. "Killers" ($8.2 million)

Rebooting franchises isn't always a popular idea, but in many cases, it's a profitable one. Such was the case this weekend as two updates on classic properties entered the box office arena in the form of "The Karate Kid" and "The A-Team," with the kung fu-centric reboot coming out in first place. Hannibal Smith, Faceman Peck, B.A. Baracus and Howling Mad Murdock entered the box office arena this weekend without a Plan B — and it could prove to be their undoing, as Sony's reboot of the "Karate Kid" franchise ended up winning out on Friday evening with an impressive $18.8 million haul. As advertised, "Get Him To The Greek" proved to be a two-hour-long ride of inebriated chaos and drug-induced hilarity (if Diddy ever offers to introduce you to "Jeffrey," turn him down). Despite its frat-boy appearance, the "sort-of-spin-off of "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" ended up raising some interesting and unexpected moral dilemmas.

Jonah Hill's character, a more serious incarnation of his Infant Sorrow-obsessed waiter in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," is a record label intern who gets his first big break bringing Russell Brand's Aldous Snow to perform his 10th anniversary concert at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. The job ends up not being what he signed up for, and his realization that his dream job isn't what he expected it to be leads to some surprising conclusions about the music industry and life.

Needless to say, spoilers ahead... Read More...

There was a lot of profanity last night at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, it's true. But there was also a lot of love in that room, a fact that was exemplified no better than when a ballgame-inspired Kiss Cam began making the rounds around the room. A number of lovely couples were forced into sharing tender moments with one another, and most of them were up for the challenge. None were more impassioned than "Get Him to the Greek" stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, who positively attacked each other!

Well MTV's Josh Horowitz caught up with Hill later on in the evening and he asked the actor about his and Brand's special moment, and what it might mean for their future as... um... collaborators. Hear Hill's response after the jump. The short version? He's pretty pleased. What a beautiful couple those two make. Read More...

Shrek Forever After1. "Shrek Forever After" ($25.3 million)

3. "Killers" ($16.1 million)
4. "Prince of Persia" ($13.9 million)
5. "Sex and the City 2" ($12.7 million)

Even with four new major releases in theaters this weekend — including films starring notable names such as Russell Brand, Ashton Kutcher and Owen Wilson — "Shrek Forever After" continued its winning streak with a $25.3 million first place finish by Sunday's conclusion, thanks to a combination of increased theater count and higher prices for 3-D ticket sales.
