Black SwanToday marked a sad day of remembrance for Chicago Cubs fans with the passing of former third baseman Ron Santo. Unless you're an avid Twitter reader, however, you may not have known that the Major League Baseball legend played a big role in actor Gary Sinise's life. You can read about that among the retweets below.

Other posts in our mix for today include a David Slade revelation about how Florence and the Machine were almost used in "Eclipse," as well as how he feels about the "Eclipse" soundtrack's Grammy nomination. It's all detailed after the jump along with Mary Elizabeth Winstead's micro-review of "Black Swan" and Matthew Broderick with a puppy.

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel became a hot topic right after Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley announced this week that he wouldn't run for re-election next year. Michael McKean, meanwhile, was insightful enough to ask if Emanuel's path would trigger a parallel move on the part of his brother Ari, the inspiration for Jeremy Piven's "Entourage" character.

Elsewhere in Twitter-Wood, movies are being made and released as usual. Tyrese Gibson continued his updates about "Transformers 3," while Brian Lynch looked ahead to the new "Resident Evil" this weekend, and photos of Nina Dobrev on the "Vampire Diaries" set, Denise Richards in a cheerleader outfit and Gary Sinise thanking his Twitter followers showed up.

Tila Tequila walked into a flurry of rocks and bottles on-stage at the Insane Clown Posse's Gathering of the Juggalos this year. James Gunn and Horatio Sanz both took notice and offered their thoughts via tweets. "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," meanwhile, didn't draw nearly as negative a critical reception over the weekend, but its $10.5 million haul at theaters fell short of expectations. Edgar Wright and Mark Webber still appreciated every one of those tickets though.

Below, you'll find their shout-outs, as well as an odd photo exchange between Kevin Smith and Neil Gaiman, Marlon Wayans' stance on WWE and more.

Have you been having Facebook problems lately? Lindsay Lohan has, judging from her recently tweeted frustrations. She says she's lost her original account and name, all due to some shenanigans pulled by a hacker.

The biggest shenanigan in the Gulf of Mexico is still on tweeters minds elsewhere in Twitter-Wood. Rainn Wilson was inspired by President Barack Obama's "kick ass" comments today, and Stephen Colbert has been pontificating as usual. You can decide which of them knows what he's talking about below alongside Wil Wheaton's kick-ass Tardis cake and a look at Gary Sinise playing guitar at USO show.

Cancellation news came in spades to Twitter-Wood this week. First it was "The Sarah Silverman Program," and now the ax has fallen on "Law and Order." Luckily, Ice-T spoke up to assure everyone that "SVU" is still going strong, but some fans are feeling cheated.

Tyrese Gibson tweeted a grievance as well today, calling Apple out for not using a wider variety of users in their iPad advertisements. Check out what he wants to see changed, as well as what Cannes looked like in 1969 and who wished Jessica Alba a happy birthday. It's all retweeted for your perusal after the jump in Twitter-Wood for May 14, 2010. Read More...

Last week, Jon Favreau addressed "The Wilhelm Scream" in "Iron Man 2," and this week he's been getting inquiries about the color of Sam Rockwell's hands in the film. After reading Twitter today, I think I'm going to have to go back and decide how orange they are for myself.

In other tweets, much of Twitter-Wood is getting set for the Cannes Film Festival this week. Brett Ratner and Paris Hilton both had some prep work to do today, and I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty of other related posts over the next couple of weeks. You can find out what they've got planned after the jump. There, you'll find Gary Sinise, Jim Carrey and Frankie Muniz's thoughts on Lady Gaga, as they all appear in Twitter-Wood for May 11, 2010.
