Rosario DawsonFROM SPLASH PAGE: Not even a month after “Sin City” star Michael Clarke Duncan told us he hadn’t heard a peep about "Sin City 2", the plot thickens. Now, Rosario Dawson, the straight-talking star who once strapped herself into black leather to play the role of gang gal Gail says that she’s leaving room open on her 2009 calendar for the long-awaited sequel.

“Yeah, I talked to Robert [Rodriguez] and Frank [Miller],” she said of a recent conversation with the director and writer who joined forces with Quentin Tarantino for the hit 2005 film. “They actually just finished the script for ‘Sin City 2’ a few months ago.”

What's certainly one of the most interesting films of the year has finally arrived. Comic book legend Frank Miller's adaptation of "The Spirit" (from the even more legendary Will Eisner) has faced a closely-watched ride to the box office. As soon as the first trailer premiered here on MTV.com, fans were already wondering whether the style Miller applied so perfectly to "Sin City" was the right move for a renowned superhero character from the 1940s.

Audiences (and Kurt Loder) will answer that question, but one thing's for sure: Miller's impressive cast stands behind the film. In our exclusive interview after the jump, stars Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson talk shop about their villainous characters, and then move on to their musical aspirations and whether they'll be gracing the stage of Obama's inauguration (click here for all that). For those who grab a ticket, don't forget to return with your thoughts. Read more...

'Buck Rogers'The producers behind "The Spirit" obviously have a lot of faith in Frank Miller, because they have just handed him another directing gig. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miller is in the final negotiations to direct "Buck Rogers" for Oddlot Entertainment and Millennium Films.

"Buck Rogers," for those of you feeling lost, was one of the first major sci-fi stories. In fact, it was the very first sci-fi comic series, kicking off with its first strip in 1929, and it ran until 1967. The series followed an ordinary American and former Air Force pilot who was exposed to a gas that put him in a state of suspended animation for 500 years. He wakes up in the future, where he's eventually recruited to help battle intergalatic menaces to Earth. Read more...

'The Spirit'FROM SPLASH PAGE: Sure, everyone's been talking about Frank Miller's "The Spirit," but this isn't the first time Will Eisner's classic character has taken a turn in the live-action medium.

Way back in 1987, screenwriter Steven de Souza was fresh off a pair of genre-defining hits with "48 Hours" and "Commando." Just before undertaking the project that would become one of his best-known films, "Die Hard," de Souza wrote and produced a television pilot based on "The Spirit" -- the first live-action adaptation of the long-running comic strip. While the series was never picked up, the 74-minute film has lived on as a cult classic of sorts among comic fans.

With Miller's take on "The Spirit" currently suffering the slings and arrows of early fan critique, MTV News thought it might be interesting to reach out to the writer who first brought "The Spirit" into the live-action world for a chat about Miller's spin and the task of bringing the character to screens big and small.

No doubt about it, Angelina Jolie is a dame to kill for, but could she literally be "A Dame to Kill For"? For over two years, the principal talent behind "Sin City" have been subtlety (and sometimes not so subtlety) dropping hints that they’d like Jolie for the title role of Ava Lord, the manipulative, conniving, fatally gorgeous force at the center of director Robert Rodriquez and Frank Miller's "Sin City 2."

In an interview two-years ago, actress Rosario Dawson even said that filming was being rescheduled to accommodate Jolie's pregnancy.

So is Angelina going to be in "Sin City 2"? Read more...
